Not sure if this is joke/sarcasm, but even if you were to get through the machine gun in 1 - 2 attempts, is it really worth all the medkits and bandages you waste as well as having your suit shredded?

SoC is legendary of course, but Clear Sky is my favorite to play.

Stalker is a good series and Clear Sky is definitely a good game. Gets too much hate, most of it unwarranted.

The damage sponge bug was apparently present in the unpatched version of Shadow of Chernobyl, where difficulty damage multiplayers affected not only the player, but NPCs as well. It was fixed in either first or second patch and wasn't a "feature" in the game. CS and CoP never had this bug.

Honestly, the only problem i had with the game, is the campaigns added by DLC, since for so many missions you get no downtime to repair. Even my honestly pretty crap PC can run this game smooth as butter.

Credit to you, OP. The video is rough around the edges and overly harsh, but the frustration is understood by me at least. MW5 felt like slop to me and a real slap in the face to what I wanted from a MW game. I think you'll really get places, just work on your scripts a bit and vary the atmosphere and you'll be right where you need to be. Good luck man!

Well, I agree that it could have been done better. I've been such a hopeless Battletech fan since I was a kid that I didn't notice some of the problems, like the environments feeling empty or boring. Every merc company I start has its own little story in my head, and I'm always writing it as I go along. We're always looking for something, be it better pilots or the proper mechs, and yeah, I'm one of those guys who will disagree on customization. There should be hardpoints, because mechs are extremely expensive to modify in the original tabletop, or in MekTek. Indeed, in both, there's a good chance that you will ruin a mech by trying to modify it too much, and they are not easily replaceable. One failed technician roll can seriously ruin your day. It's fun because the stakes are higher, everything you do has to be optimized to minimize risk and maximize profit. Based on your gameplay footage, you desperately need a better computer, because headshots are key. Give me any mech that I can mount a couple of heavy rifles on, and I'll blow straight through their cockpit from 500 meters away. One shot, one kill. It is different from the tabletop, but it does recreate the pressure because you don't have the time or endurance to afford much waste. I can see why they did that. But where are the mech-techs? There's only one, and he's kind of an asshole that can work miracles, apparently. Where is everyone else on my dropship? I'd really like to get a few story events with various personnel, instead of making up the stories entirely by myself, because the writers didn't bother putting basic storytelling elements in for more than a skeleton crew. HBS did that in their game. And yes, I had to mod the game, too, because the salvage rights and rep system is pretty punishing. As much as I'd love to spend all day playing Battletech, I have a wife and a job. I don't have time to go flying around the Inner Sphere, chasing every far-flung contract in the hopes that I'll eventually get my rep high enough to eventually salvage whatever mech we happen to need at the moment, because it takes 34 salvage shares, out of 19 perfectly headshot mechs that my employers can have ALL of. Honestly, that kind of performance alone should be rewarded a little with bonus shares, but it's not. I agree with you on the lasers, and I don't know why they are laser pointers. They should be studly beams of death. Microsoft actually got that right with their games, but I never use the fucking things except as tertiary weapons to take out swarms of vehicles, so I guess I didn't really notice. There is more, but that would take longer to describe, and you've given me quite a bit to think about, so I'm just going to leave a like and a subscription. As for your UA-cam delivery...well, you need to work on your rep, merc. Not as hard as we have to in the game, thank God, but just putting in a few jokes and having a little bit lighter tone, and maybe giving a different expression to that avatar once in a while, would help. The tone you're using comes off as extraordinarily cynical, which is fine every once in a while, but it will get tiresome if that's the only attitude you ever have. But hey, at least you're putting in the work, right? I'm not about to make a UA-cam video, so credit where credit is due.

Offering some constructive criticsim because I don't think this is a bad video like most of the commenters are. You make some really excellent points points about the state of the base game, and how it seems Piranha is over reliant on the modding community to fulfill the potential the game has. But the way you constantly hurl insults at the devs and fans of the game, the use of r*t*rd, and the constant use of fuck (seems like you swear just to swear) really dilutes your message. If your goal was to piss off MW5 fanboys you did great, but if you wanted to make a valid criticism of a game you've done a piss poor job.

I don't see why a sandbox needs a good story or memorable missions. Skyrim has neither of those and people rant and rave about how amazing that game is all the time.

It really pissed me off too, no realistic weapons whatsoever, but i was told on the steam forums that the game was from a tabletop game, and thats why the mechanics of the game makes no sense. But yeah its a waste of money.

all of the bad things you say about it are the same things every game dev has in their games times 10. the fact is pgi made an old fashioned game with no money grabs in the game. maybe you like to pay for in game items which is odd cause you wont spend any money on you rig and blame the game for the poor performance

What a shitty review lol, yes, the game does have its downsides, to ignore those is stupid, but to call it ass? Nah, you should mod it to make the AI better, more maps, more mechs, etc. They left it open because all they can do is patch and add changes to the AI and add maps via DLC generated maps, or mod in map changes by mods, which, by the way both the publisher, and producer said to mod the game because they can't do very much after the decisions they made that are hard coded into the game. Also you cant blame them for the music, its heavy metal the point being both a pun and insipiring for gameplay, it does something for raising morale even when you are missing a side torso, does the music get repetitive? Yes! But you can also fix that with mods! Also another thing too, expecting Piranha to fix all this stuff is stupid because they are a corp, we have known that conplaining to them doesn't do shit unless the community pulls rank and forces mass refunds or mass bad reviewing, something that the gaming community didnt put into action until the latest Helldivers 2 fiasco.

Pretty accurate review. Biggest killers to the game were the customization and weak AI, and I have no doubt Clans will be the same crap. Best gaming fix for mech addiction right now is Armored Core 6, even if its worlds different than Battletech.
