Like that wasn’t expected lol
Ruben hands down saved all those lives that day.
hoopeston water tower is a worlds tallest one
That's wonderful that all of those people are keeping in touch with each other. Well, another safety place/s during a tornado is store cooler/freezer.
God bless yall😢😂❤
When you get to the point you are telling random strangers “I love you.”, you know this is it.
Came here after your talk at VCARA last night. Very cool to see more of this!
my aunt is the one saying jesus jesus…her name is donna barnes. thank you rueben for thinking smart during that time. that day was so tragic i will never forget it.
It’s an election year people…..
I think if I was in the beer cooler, I would be guzzling beer hoping if I died it wouldn't hurt so much.
I'm very confused by this?
i think its joking by how the reporter just keeps going "ah yes its right here look whre my hand is yep look right here"
No credit to Brandon Ivey and Team TIV

Can't believe with all the stacked bottles of beer didn't splatter and do a lot of damage.
Good song
❤ l grew up here and l love it
Imo, the gas station event has the most terrifying, realistic sound of a tornado
Village of rantoul Illinois are my favorite water tower
tornados are worst than i thought like fat chics and mexicans way worst
👑🌹🙏🏻
You know the few videos that just stick in your head and you never forget them? Yea. This is one for sure !! Put yourself there with them and just imagine how terrified they all had to be and what it was like afterwards and to see what they saw !!! Life changing for sure !!!!
Found the place on Google maps & street view. It's a Casey's General Store now.
This guys a true hero. Also, if you guys have never seen the video where the original guy taping this goes back to the scene afterward, you’ve gotta watch it. It’s incredible that they survived. The entire store is flattening and blown into the field behind them or a crumpled mass of metal. There’s one small pocket that survived and it’s the exact place they were laying down. If there’s ever something on earth that could make me believe in “miracles” it’s that. They should 110% all be dead. It’s actually shocking that they survived.
Awesome

Omg that cough drop or whatever ever it is in your mouth!
Water towers are my favorite
Oh my. That lead in was way way too long
Omg they were protected by God's angels cause all the bottles and shelves couldve hurt all of them. But its not their time.
Very scary. I was delivering for schwan's that day. Very upsetting and seeing how much it affected everyone. I had been there delivery driver for about 8 years so I had gotten to know lots of people from that area. But I'll tell you what that area has a lot of really good people in it and I'm thankful that no one died that day.
2:07 why is no one talking about that dog
Bruh check my Ty for it to make sense
24 new family members. You are Damn right sir.
I would have had a beer afterwards.
More like a whole case after an experience like that! 🍺
Ditto. More than likely during it.
For those who doubt the power and salvation of God here's proof. That brave woman who was boldly praying had no doubt whatsoever who her Lord was and she was ready to meet Him. Her faith saved everyone in that store. Would love to know who this prayer warrior is. Truly an amazing and inspiring story of survival from one of the most dangerous storms to ever hit Missouri. What POWER our Savior freely gave to protect those who call on His Name.
Illinois you got a great Chief meteorologist. I was disgusted when he left the Southwest Missouri market. Don't know why or how. From one weather nerd to the other, May your storms be mild & your days be bright.
It amazes me everytime I watch this !😊💖
Awesome

I was in a water park and a tornado hit Sandusky, Ohio. It was Kalahari and my friend had looked out of the window and saw the tornado touch down and saw it move and suck things up, and it was most likely an EF4 tornado when we saw the tornado so we had to run out of the cabana because we were in a cabana and sprint out of the water park and to safety and we were very lucky to get to safety as fast as we did.
That's my old house lmao
Looking at what was left of that gas station, there is absolutely no way on earth that every single person in that gas station made it out alive without the the almighty hand of God saving them. Absolutely now way.
He's a hero for rounding up everyone and getting them into that cooler. I've listened to that video and it's a good four minutes of EF-4&5 winds destroying everything around them outside of that cooler, including the store. It must've looked apocalyptic when they climbed out of the cooler into the brief torrential downpour and hail. Seeing clear sky while watching the back side of the tornado as it moved away must've been so surreal. In the video you can hear the shock and awe of the people, wondering if the velocity of the tornado is increasing still or finally dissipating. Four minutes is an incredibly long period of time to wonder whether or not the walls protecting you are going to be pulled apart suddenly. To think that the store the cooler was in got demolished makes me wonder how much more the walls of that cooler could withstand. I guess it really helped that there weren't any windows to break out and allow the tornado's winds to have more leverage on the roof. It would be fascinating to see an analysis of that cooler structure to better understand how those people all survived, esp when many others in houses didn't. I hope they all keep up with each other after such a traumatic event. I would imagine that even a simple thunder storm gets their heart rates going in present day, always thinking back to the fateful day they hunkered down among the six packs and cases of beer. I wonder if anyone grabbed and drank one. I think i would've thought about having a cold one before venturing out into the destroyed landscape outside. Lots more trauma to endure walking thru that utter disaster zone. The next twenty four hours in Joplin must've been terrifying with all the continued thunder storm activity. I'd be worried that there's a new tornado forming in every subsequent storm system after that experience! Hope they're all alive and well, and healing from the terror of that day in the cooler! So glad they all wound up at this place together and followed this guy's guidance to get into the cooler. He saved them all with his quick thinking!
I wouldn't be praying. I'd be slamming beers like it was the last beer of my life. Other than an underground storm cellar (which I have approx five steps from the back door), the stores cooler was most likely the safest structure in a five mile radius. Glad they all survived,
This is so freaking dumb like there’s no tornadoes anywhere
It's been 10 years, I hope he's still doing ok along with everyone else that was with him.
I gess them coolers are not safe after all
I commented on this story a number of time, from watching various clips of the incident at this gas station. Ruben is a inspiration for getting people to safety and helping people stay calm as well as finding a way out after the storm past. Each one of their stories is an inspiration. Kudos to all who were in that beer cooler and made it out alive. Also, a huge lesson in this is to LISTEN AND ADHERE to the sirens. Don’t take them for granted. Seek shelter no matter how you feel and view the skies. Stay vigilant during storms. Tornadoes takes lives and destroys property. That’s it. They are a force that is not to be taken lightly.
Literally their lives being saved that day was a miracle. I hope all of them are mentally ok from this.
Ruben was truly remarkable on that day in that moment. Calm in a most terrifying event. What a man!
Get into a ditch. I dont think so
