Lowland Kids Summer Cami Bodysuit Tutorial
Your neck opening is much smaller then mine hmm
What kind of needle are you using for your invisible stitch?
I hand stitched it.. just honestly whatever needle I had on hand, not sure the size.
Great video but sewing the sides was left out of the tutorial…so I just sewed them together before sewing the bottom. 😊
I see that your binding is just like a straight strap, there is a cutout on the pattern that looks like a banana. I assumed that was for the neck? Do you not need that piece ?
That one is labeled as the ruffle for the leg ruffles:)
@@ComeCreateWithKim oh my goodness , this makes so much sense now !
Thank you for posting about sewing in the round! 🤯 Game changer for me! I appreciate it ❤
Hi there! I've been looking for a romper pattern with video and came across yours. I'd love to make it! Where do I find the pattern?
So happy you like it! I got this from Lowland Kids. You can visit their website and find some many cute rompers!! They are even having a sale currently and lots of patterns are 50% off
I came looking for this tutorial because I was intimated by the binding in the pattern, but now that I see this I am going to do bands instead and be so much happier 😆. Love how concise but helpful this is as a video!
Thank you!
Thank you for this video, can you please tell me if you use a size 3 or 5 separating zipper?
You talk to fast and the steps are done too fast. The speed up doesn't help us beginners either. Other than that these tutorials would be good.
Your collar piece does not look as per pattern is there a reason?
Hmmm no, I didn’t do anything different in this pattern aside from color blocking the sleeve
they must have changed the pattern as mine is different too - a slanted edge
ik wil deze romper nog eens maken maar een maat groter. Hoe druk ik de patronen per maat af? het lukt me deze keer niet.
Heb je de patroon gekopt? Je kan het tot 3T maat maken. Deze was 2T
I read in comments you said do prob do 1/2 inch for babies up to two, does that include hem? So cut 1/2 inch below crotch then hem 1/2 inch?
When you are sewing seams on your sewing machine, are you using a stretch stitch or just a straight stitch?
In this video I was always using a straight stitch. Those seams should ever be stretched, so it’s all good :)
How cool, thanks for sharing such great patient 🎉
Can you tell me what serger thread you are using? The rainbow color makes me think I wouldn’t have to change it as often when sewing for my kids. Is that true? Thank you for this great tutorial!
Hey! I looove using rainbow thread for my kiddos clothes because it’s fun, it coordinates will multiple items and they love it. So I buy mine from wawak most is the time. They have tons of color options and shipping is always $5 unless you order enough to make it free! Pretty sure Amazon has it as well.
I'm so glad you answered this, because I was wondering about this thread as well. Thank you. The little jumper and your little one are both really cute 🥰
So adorable! Great tutorial, thank you!
You are so welcome!
I made the jacket last night with a zipper. I cut 1/2" off each side of the body but I didn't for the hood, and I didn't leave any overhang for the hood by accident so the top of the zipper has a raw edge. Woops. Works for my kiddos but I'm going to pay closer attention to this on the next one. Thank you for this video!!
I finished off the raw edge with the Serger! I didn’t cover it up. Could you give that a try?
Thank you so much for the sew along I had a hard time trying the jacket today with just the instructions. Can’t wait to try with the help of your video tomorrow with new fabric 😂
You are so welcome! Yes I feel like the construction on this one is helpful with extra visuals :) hopefully tomorrow goes better ❤
@@ComeCreateWithKimit should for sure! I’m definitely a very visual learner so thanks again! ❤
I never got written instructions with my pattern. Where did you find them?
There are a few different files to download and the instructions are separate from the pattern!
Fantastic tutorial, I purchased the pattern 👂 today, really appreciate all your tips xx
Thanks! So glad it helps
Thanks so much. I really dislike binding and needed this tutorial. I appreciate you taking the time to make it. Subscribedl
Oh yay! So so happy it helped. Stay tuned for my next tutorial coming next week! It’s for a new pattern and will I clue a hack! Plus, no binding 🎉
My pattern didn’t come with front pants or shorts. Am I missing something? Do I need to buy it separate?
It’s part of the full back piece. If you read the instructions on the bottom half it tells you to cut 1 front bottoms and has a line indicating where they start
heel duidelijke tutorial👌👌 en ook een geweldig mooi model😊😊
Dank je wel! 😍 hij is toch schattig
Fantastic tutorial. Your son is such a cutie xx
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Been looking forward to some more videos! Love it!
I had another baby earlier this year and it’s just crazy how busy it makes life! But I’m happy to be back at it :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH
You’re welcome!
What is the size romper you made in this tutorial?
I made the 2T with the center scrunched and the smaller one is a 6-9 month I believe
Never ever have i seen something more relatable than a scissors with the label on them 😅 luckily my kids respect my scissors more than i did my mother’s 🙈
Hahah I love that you noticed!
Does look hard following but super cute
It’s truly much much easier than it may seem!
What are your finishing stitch settings?
I hand stitch it closed, is that what you’re referring to?
Hi, great tutorial, thanks. What sewing machine do you use? What machine would you recommend for a beginner?
Hey! Thank you:) I use a Bernina, I looove this brand, but it is more expensive. A pretty basic machine is just fine, you’ll want a button hole stitch, straight and zigzag stitch and most else isn’t necessary. If you’re able to save up and get a serger eventually it will make a world of a difference!
Where did you get your fabric from, if you don’t mind me asking.
I found it all at joanns!
@@ComeCreateWithKim thank you!
Wow, is it a new born baby?
Yes!
Where do you buy this pattern? It's lovely 😍
It’s from the company Lowland Kids!
Thank you for your video. What size of fabric did you use to make the shortcut mitten? I tried using the long piece of the pattern but it turns out way too small.
I’m the pattern they provide an option for cuffs or mitten cuffs. And I chose the regular cuffs which are quite a bit wider. If you are using the projector/A0 file the regular cuffs are just above the two mitten cuff options
Just stumbled upon your tutorials and you are great at them. I will be trying this tonight.
any tips on avoiding needle breakage? I call this the needle-buster pattern....
So I did all of the zipper sewing with my sewing machine, not serger because I’d rather break my sewing machine needles 😂. But honestly, just take it slow. You can often feel if it’s about to get stuck that way. But otherwise, I don’t have much advice! This one didn’t break any needles for me, but other projects recently have so I totally get it!
Hi, I have to change my needle when I'm sewing thicker fabrics or multiple layers. I use a "jeans" needle and it makes a world of difference.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Do you do upper or lower threading? I’m just starting out and am a little confused!
Are you asking about the elastic thread? It goes in the bobbin, which is lower threading
@@ComeCreateWithKimyes thank you!!
So cute!!
This will be my first Serger project and also my first lowland pattern. Do you have any fleece recommendations and or extra tips? I love the multiple colors in yours!
Great tutorial, I will try it out tomorrow.
Hi! Love this tutorial... I can't find the pattern though...
Visit lowland kids website and search for snap suit!
@@ComeCreateWithKim Yes! Great! Thanks so much... Another question : you say at 5:45 to do a cover stitch, but not to use a single needle because it doesn't offer any *stitch*... You meant stretch? Can i do a stretch stitch with a single needle then? Or would you still recommend a double needle?
@@NRNF1776 definitely meant stretch! Yes I would recommend a double needle for the most professional finish. Or if you would rather do another stretch stitch, that’s fine. Sometimes people see the double lines of stitching and sew two lines of a straight stitch to get a similar look, but that is not outcome and those stitches will eventually pop.
@@ComeCreateWithKim Aye aye captain! Haha... But for the first stitching of the bias tape (the "hidden" one) you straight stitch, right? I didnt miss something or anything...? Thanks!
@@NRNF1776 I think you’re referring to the binding (I didn’t use any bias tape in this project), and that was applied using my serger which is considered a stretch stitch.
Great tutorial! Just found your videos today can’t wait for more ! Thank you
If you love Lowland kids, I have SO many tutorials for you!
Just wondering what kind of material is best for neckbands.. what is the material called that you used for the band? I see it on almost every collar/neckband!
Ribbing or ribbed knit is super common for neck bands and arm/foot bands! It’s the stuff you see on most store bought sweatshirts! But any stretchy knit will do! It’s all about having good recovery (so it doesn’t stay stretched out) but also not being too stiff. Those areas are needing to be stretchy so they fit around the head/hand/leg
@@ComeCreateWithKim thank you so much!!
Thank you!! LOVE!!! It was so easy to follow!!!
So happy it worked for you!
I absolutely LOVE this swimsuit!
Thank you! It was fun watching!
