You'll get a scart hdmi converter on line dirt cheap. You don't need an old tv.

I have an old imac. They are great computers. If you can get ut working ng, you could always rin Bootcamp and Windows. Recommend Boxer for retro DOS gaming.

Where was that car boot? Last time I went to one in Northampton, probably 2 years ago, they were trying to sell laptops like that for £125. Needless to say I didn't buy one. Tech there was very overpriced.

i have and old chromebook acer c710 one of the first chromebooks its basic a laptop you can change upgrade the drive and upgrade the ram. it came with 320GB drive. because its no longer supported with google you can load chromeflex which gets updates and runs just like google chrome os. or run linux or windows on it. i also have two cr48 google chromebooks.

i have had a few of these machines, if you have the version 2 motherboard you can take the ram up to 96GB you can tell the version of the motherboard via the serial number on the MB. i have my main one with SSD and nvme. the cpus can also be updated to max out. the windows key is on the bottom of the case. i used a nvidia graphics. my system i use as plex server running zorin 17.1 pro my system also have dvdrw/bluray and multicard reader, they came as part of the package the graphics card is nvidia fx4800 with dual dvi. i did have a nvidia high spec card in but the power from the powers supply in the system is limited the card worked but was taxing the power supply so i took the card out. so some cards won't work due to not being enough power. user manuals and service manuals are online for free.

I installed FF13 on my Linx, damn it was slow but yeah it actually loaded and ran :O

I have the Linx drivers backed up on one of my hard drives, I can probably find them if you need them?

Some of the Linx tablets came with an Xbox controller "frame" which was kind of cool as you could use it to play Windows games and basic emulation (GBA etc). The controller looks like a stretched sideways giant U and the tablet literally slides into it. I used mine to play Legend Of Heroes Trails In The Sky 3 PC version as the Sony PSP version never made it into English.

I use the quest 2 with immersed for work as a service desk analyst. Works great for me. I have low vision. So, it's been a big help.

I HATE starlink with a passion, the reason? I'm an astro-photographer, and flocks of light reflecting sats in formation whizzing about ruins what little clear skies the UK gets, its not like musk couldn't work out a way to kill the reflected light. A plague on his house sir!

You may want to check if there is a peel off plastic cover over the camera lens (like the screen protector) it may make it seem softer than the camera actually is

Get the BoboVR S3 comfort mod halo strap. It makes wearing the Quest 3 completely comfortable, & you can get a couple of extra B100 batteries for extended use. I use my Apple Vision Pro for hours every day with the KKCOVR halo strap for work, gaming, & exercise. I use my Quest 3 with the BoboVR S3 for hours when gaming on VR.

for those tablets look intotouch portal or macro deck they dont need much performance to run and they give you a handy macro deck for your pc that you can do so many cool things with once you get the hang of it you wonder how you ever lived without it

Good to know that those items were worth it in terms of monetary value paid, though sometimes, it's not just about selling things on to make a profit. I like the fact that you now have a Windows XP based tower PC for XP-era gaming! Note: If selling on eBay you have to take into account eBay fees, postage fees, promoted listings fees, and the possibility that an item may be damaged upon arrival.

Indeed, I echo your thoughts: if you're going to sell anything with storage in it, at least do the decent thing and factory reset the device or wipe the storage clean and start afresh or wipe the storage clean ready for the next user. Don't leave your old stuff (documents/photos/other) on a computer or phone for someone else to go rifling through, because you never know what you've left behind...

Really great machines, i had a z600 in 2015-2018 then a z620 from 2018-2024 with a rx590 for the last 3 of those years and using linux since around 2016. Id still be using it if not for the power consumption. It just got too expensive to run. I finally got a ryzen 5600 with an rtx 3050 and the power draw is nearly 4 times less! But performance is better, much better. I dont think thatll surprise anyone but for the giveaway prices of these machines they are hard to beat and they are built with quality components.

The Kinnect can be repurposed for VR full body tracking (Amethyst) or as a 3D scanner for 3D modelling and printing. Definitely an under rated product if you can pick up the separate PC power lead and USB.

You did NOT use the xreal glasses properly with the ‘Smooth Follow’ feature engaged so as to avoid the screen lag / delay issue that is adding to your motion sickness related issues. Know the features of your equipment BEFORE you criticize it.

I still remember HTC times very fondly! I feel it's been getting more sterile as times have "progressed" (modern android especially) / lack of competition or innovation. Oh well. I fondly remember the Windows Phone -times too, but sadly this time of planned obsolence is eating many of the good things away. But, times change. Maybe we'll get back to something more inspirational as uptick approaches...
