Casavant are organ building gods. Still working out of a small town in Quebec. For almost 150 years!
Nominated for an Emmy, Congratulations!
Mind blowing music!!
Mostly his music is a bunch of scrambled nonesense that has no virtue and could be changed without the listener haveing the slightest clue. This is made worse by the indistinct voicings of these organs. So the whole thing is a preposterous charade in which it is difficult to stay awake. Often the impression is that of mice scampering around chewing on cardboard in the pantry.
It's said that Dupre actually wrote this to show off to Widor, who was Dupre's tutor at the time.
Awesome
One of my dearly favorite organists! Wonderful!!
Very well done!!! The greater the artist, the simpler it seems.
SPLEDIDLY PLAYED, BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing 👌
Good evening...
Immaculate, exciting playing. Wonderful. x

BRAVA, Jan Kraybill!!! Exciting, virtuosic performance of a incredibly difficult and exciting work!! (Kaufmann Center -- get a camera better aimed at the pedals AND SHOW THEM. Some of Dr. Kraybill's virtuosic pedal playing went all but unseen.)
Congratulations to all involved in bringing this wonderful incubator of creativity to Kansas City! In my opinion it is the prettiest structure in the region.
Love being a part of this community and having this beloved space. I almost take it for granted. This video reminded me what an honor and privilege it is!
Complimenti, bella esecuzione. Brava!
Unplayable? Well you played it just fine. 👏👏👏👏👏🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎹🎹🎹🎹
3:50 is my favorite part
Bravo, Jan! Marcel Dupre would have been pleased!
everyone who can play this piece is a godfather / godmother of organ! God bless you! 💚🙏🏻
Dear Kauffman Center, Hello, Have you heard about a new social platform called Ganjing World (GJW )? GJW is similar to UA-cam, but the channels shared on this platform are highly/carefully selected. They have to be good videos and bring value to viewers.
Totally brilliant performance! WOW!!!
Great performance! Loved every minute of it!❤️
Thank you for such a lovely and rigorous performance -- I'm also blown away by the architecture of that organ -- I'll have to stop by next time I'm in KC!!
RIP Walter Pomar the Accordion Man. He was the guy who played that one on the Accordion, and he'll always be the Accordion Man.
Why was this a one year wonder. It was the best event NYE party ever. Hands down.
Thank you so much for sharing this piece and this amazing instrument!
Wonderful performance with clear registration. A clear interpretation at a pleasant tempo. As you said, Dupre's composition is technically challenging. There were so many extraordinary French compositions and virtuoso musicians during the late 19th & early 20th centuries. And Dupre's incredible student Jeanne Demessieux, a virtuoso's virtuoso!
This is a great rendition. Thanks for the introduction too!
Your rendition is great . Really enjoyable!
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!
This is wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Marvelous, wonderful, thank you!
One of my favorite works. Wish I was able to play it. Brilliant performance by Ms. Kraybill. Brava!
Many of us wish that, Gary.
@@dalegrider716 actually the prelude is really not that hard. Fugue's a bit harder, but the prelude is perfectly manageable, just sit down at the console and try to focus on picking optimal fingerings. It will just all fall into place.
Bravissima! You really enjoy playing this Opus 7 #3.Your video is absolutely gorgeous. And the organ design is a masterpiece.
Astounding!
Wonderful!!! I love The Planets, which makes this all the more enjoyable!!!
Oh Jan, what a wonderful and creative way to share the Julia Irene Kauffman Casavant Organ with my elementary students, who will not have the opportunity to attend a Kansas City Symphony concert this year at the Kauffman Center. I'll play one piece for them per class and they will get to see and hear you and the organ up close!! Thank you for sharing music so freely! You are the best, Jan!!
Oh, I was hoping to see how you manipulate the knobs and other "non-keys" parts of the organ. At some point could you do a video on what all that other stuff does and how you use it?
Really very nice Jan ! Loved your tempo and the Interesting thumb work, too !
Marcel Dupré, Marcel Dupré, the hell you say, the hell you say! (Just in case you haven't heard the old joke.) Fantastic playing of a very difficult work, and you're SO lucky to have a REAL concert hall organ!
I am incapable of understanding how humans can do this or any of the amazing arts. I am in awe.
Wow! I agree Jan! Amazing!
Thank you for that wonderful performance. Great tempo and clean registration. Beautiful sounds from the organ. And it was so refreshing to see you managing the organ yourself without the help of a console assistant!
0:01 - Introductory remarks 2:01 - Prelude 6:01 - Fugue
Nimble little manual diminuendo - good job! Spectacular overall. And just as Guilmant expects, the G.-O. manual is at the bottom!
Great job, Jan! I can see this is not an easy piece to play. The organ sounds wonderful! Thanks!
