The movie was terrible I hated that movie

This movie really hit home at the end leaving Dennis & his kid sister as orphans. A part 2 to this would have broke records at the box office.

This was the father's way of speaking to his children because he was too hurt inside to explain the tough situation to them of what to expect.. he must have truly felt sorry for bringing them into the world he experienced

Racism drove that man straight crazy!!! Black Men in America by law shouldn't be penalized for being late for work, or even missing the whole damn day of work and still get PAID if they have proof they were pulled over by the Police and received "No Citation". If they were a victim of any crime cause lord knows Black Men have to worry about Gangs too!! Employers/Companies would push for changes if they had to pay for that!!

Sadly, I’ve never seen this movie. I’m 60 years old and lived though this era in my mid 20’s. Back then, this movie was too much like my real life.

Ill never forget the scene....rare glimpse of happiness when him and his wife were dancing, having a good time, until he looks at all the bruises on her face, that he put there, and his shame and hatred he displayed in that 1 scene!!! My God!! 25 years and THATS THE SCENE I'LL NEVER FORGET! 🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥

The saddest part of this movie was his ass beating the ish out of his wife..

It's very sad to be a woman beater no matter what the sad circumstances.

just goes to show that black people are still not listing,....unless the white man tells them too,....this is one of the best films ever made it shows the struggle of "Real Black Men"

This is one of the most Trauma filled movies. However, there are some good times in it as well. The father was a hard working man, but could not stop drinking.
