Doing mushrooms in perfect tides was one of my favorite experiences last year. Wishlisted the new game!

Just beat Perfect Tides, such an intense and beautiful experience. I related to Mara so deeply; in my teen years, I too was a dedicated denizen of fanfiction forums, half living on the internet and half in "real life". Trying to discern what the people I'd never met from the internet meant to me, how I felt so close to them. Playing Perfect Tides was incredibly nostalgic in that respect, revisiting that chapter of my life, going through the same cognitive dissonance that Mara experienced. I'm especially excited that it takes place in my hometown of NYC! In 2003 I was 16 (Mara's age) and going through exactly what she went through in the first game, wandering around Manhattan and Brooklyn trying to figure things out. I can't wait to play this.

Unique game. Interactive story in point&click format. Almost didn't get into it because of frustrating mechanics, but the writing makes up for everything.

I hate it when I find something cool just too late to participate in it :( Ah well, can’t wait to play the game in 2024!

Such a great developer playthrough, thank you! I adored the game of course, you did a beautiful job of adding so much content & context. How much was autobiographical-esque was super interesting - the STaggle poem being from you when you were 16 is the rawest thing ever in a game, to teleport that forward through time is amazing. And loved the development notes, the constraints of how production limitations shaped design (like how timing music to animations was hard because you had to develop them in parallel) is always fascinating. I really appreciate you putting this out there!

what software do you use for developing your game?

I love adventure games depicting normal life. Like Life Is Strange Before The Storm, without the superpowers nonsense. While the genre is strong these days, such theme is still too rare. Another thing I greatly appreciate about what's seen in this video is that all pixels on screen are the same size, which is crucial for artistic consistency for fans of chunky pixels.

I loved so much Perfect Tides, easily my goty, I can't wait for this sequel.

I don't know what made me realize this but it just occurred to me that I don't think there's a single character younger than Mara in this entire game (even bg characters) and I think that's very funny
