Ryker rides on a 2023 Ryker 900 sport, visiting areas and riding roads(sometimes fast) in and around Canterbury New Zealand 😊
A nice ride on local streets with an amazing sky as a backdrop | Ryker 900 😁
A cruise around my local area just to blow the cobwebs out and to clear the mind, the sky was particularly cool looking on this cold late afternoon rip, enjoy 👍😊

I find the twisty road in the hills of Broomfield but forgot how short of a blast it is before it becomes a shingle road 😐

I take a ride looking for a cool little twisty road I remembered blasting around in my BMW (motorsport spec) car a couple of years ago. This ride takes me to the North Canterbury area of Broomfield on my search. 😊👍
A quick ride in Christchurch from Port Hills Road to Sumner via Lyttelton | Ryker 900 😊

This ride takes you through the port town of Lyttelton and over the hill towards Sumner. If you look hard in the mirrors in the uphill twisty bit a guy on a sports bike can't resist chasing me. lol😄

A blast back from the Summit Road and ending outside Sign of the Takahe on the Christchurch NZ Port Hills. 👍
The ride continues on the hills, taking in the great views | Ryker 900

I ride from the Sugarloaf reserve carpark toward the closed off area of the Summit Road. This part of the Summit Road has been closed since the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, it is only accessible by foot or bicycle but not by cars and motorcycles. 😊

A ride that takes me over the Port hills of Christchurch NZ. I start at a place called The Sign of the Takahe and over to the Sugarloaf Transmitter station carpark in the Sugarloaf Reserve. There are some great views of Christchurch and surrounding hills from this area. 😊

A ride on the Ryker 900 from home to Cust continues in the countryside.😊

The Cust ride finds us not far from our destination. We ride on a part called Tram Road, well known for police 🚔 to patrol, and sure enough no sooner do we turn onto this road we find a patrol car no more than 200 meters further up, keep that speed down!!!! 😉
A nice Ryker 900 ride to the Cust Hotel in North Canterbury. 😊

A lovely day for a ride from home out to a pub in the small township of Cust in North Canterbury. My mate on his GSXR 750 joined me for a pretty chill ride and of course a beer 🍺at the end.👍
Ryker 900 rips on the hills and twisties.👍

A rip on the Ryker 900, starting at the township of Lyttelton and going over the hill on one of my favourite bits of smooth winding road and on to Sumner. Sadly my ride ended with a speeding ticket 🚔( my first on this bike) and no I didn't film it lol 😅

I like your raw driving so much! I get my ryker in 2 weeks, finally! Greetings from Germany my friend ✌️
Thanks, I like to keep things nice and simple, just like riding fast and hard and enjoying being out in the air. Hope you enjoy your Ryker when it arrives and find some nice roads to ride in Germany 😊👍
Was yourass pretty sore after that ride?
Lol 😂 yep was pretty tough on the rear end on that bit of road, the Ryker not well suited to those sort of nasty bumps and holes 😊
Those twisties made me wanna get a Ryker even more =D Awesome video
Thanks 😊, yep that particular road is a lot of fun on the Ryker👍.You'll find heaps of folks blasting up and down this particular section on 2, 3 or 4 wheels as it's so smooth with great turns.
Can't handle a real bike ? 😏😏.
I was up there a few weeks ago do you know why they have block that road off?
It was from the Earthquakes I believe, to repair the road was apparently not in the budget as the cost was pretty extreme. 😊
Looks like it rides as good as a go kart. It is just bouncing around any little bumps. No thank you.
🤣🤣
Great ride bro!
Thanks Sis 😊
Thabk you for your 1 year update. We always get first impressions but we rarely get one year updates.
Your welcome, I think the initial buying and riding when first owning can be a bit clouded by the euphoria of joy lol 😂 I'll try to keep it honest and upfront with my thoughts on the bike in the future but over a year and still open the garage every day and love it that it's mine to enjoy 😊
You have inspired me to record my rides also.
That's really cool, just make sure ( depending on what your youtube goals are)that you don't stop enjoying the actual ride. I keep my filming super uncomplicated so the ride and the fun of it comes first and the filming is secondary, I do this as much for myself to have my rides documented for me as much as for everyone else who wishes to subscribe and like or comment, but I'm really happy that it has given you that inspiration, ride safe 😊
Great job of sharing your insight with your 1 year review of Ryker Sport riding.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Agreed @OP. The accessories are way overpriced. I would recommend purchasing a Ryker used with all of the accessories off season if you want accessories. The Ryker deals ive seen off season with very few miles are insane. In my experience, the ryker is very easy to work on. I do all of my own work. Havent had any issues in the 6k miles i have driven the bike. So far ive done all my own oil changes, repacked the exhaust, changed the oil pan, spark plugs, CVT belt, headlights, added a cheap alternative undercarriage light kit from amazon that ties into the brakes for more visibility (300+++ for the light kit on slingmods is ridiculous), changed the final drive and transmition oil, brakes, added vinyl wrap .... I think that's most of it. All maintenance was simple aside from the CVT belt. Even that was easy for someone who knows how to turn a wrench.
Yep agree on overpriced accessories, shipping and exchange rates make it very expensive to get gear here to NZ. My warranty finishes in 2025 so I'll also be doing alot of the maintenance myself. 😊
Is this a ryker rally 900 ?
It's not the rally version it's the Ryker 900 Sport 😊
How 140mph?
Here in NZ we are in kph, so nope it definitely can't do 140mph, pity tho 😁
Ci sono sempre un sacco di problemi con i sensori antiribaltamento
I haven't had any problems with this as yet, hopefully never 😊
That is a great section of road . Looks perfect for motorcycling , so good I'm going to guess it is in NZ ?
You are correct, a small bit of my favourite piece of road just out of Christchurch, some nice bends and straights and of course scenery 😊
How did you push it to 130? I'm curious. Plz share. Ty.
It's only 130kph so easy to reach that speed 😊
I did that on my Spyder a few weeks ago. I did the Little river to Port Levy in the car would like to do that on the Spyder but it Shingle and the Spyder runs a drive belt so not ideal, Do the Ryker run a drive shaft or Belt?
Rykers run a shaft drive, I know what you mean with shingle etc and belt drive (its worst enemy). Wasn't shingle so much just so damn bumpy which can beat you up a bit.
can u setup a camera that faces you so ppl can see what you are doing and leaning?
As budget and finances allow I will certainly look at further setups, so will look at maybe the insta360°camera when I do to record many more angles. 😊
how much do u need lean?
A fair bit, very similar to a quadbike, obviously depends on how quick you are traveling but if it's a left turn you lean left and push on the right footage and opposite for right hand bend 😊
nice vid man
Thanks, yep you can't get tired riding the hills surrounded by awesome scenery 👍😊
I bet you were pissed with yhe guy in the ranger danger? do you get many tickets or you are lucky there?
To be fair we share the roads so I know ya just gotta be patient. It can be frustrating though lol I can't lie 😅 On the ticket subject more luck I think that nothing on this bike, fingers crossed 🤞
What's it cost to rego for a year
It's $109 a year to rego, they class it under car registration, annoyingly my insurance company treats it as a motorcycle, go figure 😕
Thanks for sharing your experience I have a about 9 months for mine do have the same as you
These things look just as joyless to ride from onboard video as they do when I see them on the street.
I'm from West Melton I think I have seen you fellas out and about. I think I saw you a Glenn tunnel one time you and your mate were outside the shop there as I went past on my red 2020 Can Am spyder RT
Yep was probably us 😊, if ya see us again come say hi as always nice to chat to fellow riders. RT Spyder sounds nice, they are such a lovely cruising machine to explore our countryside 👍
Great video those roads look in worse condition than the ones in Taranaki
Yeah good old NZ roads aren't exactly smooth lol 😅
I’ve put floorboards, screen and passenger seat on mine! I like it say it’s engaging! Lol
Oh wow !😬
Lol yep it happens pretty quick, good chance I would've parted ways with my bike if he'd hit me as it was not a small bird 😮
This looks like a helluva lot of fun!
It certainly is and great scenery as well, you can't beat it 😊
how does the ryker handle at the high speed? is there alot of wobble that you feel? did u install a steering dampener? what is your foot position on the pegs?
On smooth roads like this motorway it's fine, bumpy roads etc it can move around a fair bit. The steering damper is something I've thought about fitting but just haven't committed to that yet, I'm kind of used to the Ryker handling etc. Foot pegs are pulled right back as I find that position gives me more of a feeling of control in the twisties, just my preference. 😊
Nice
Sway bar end links cheap and effective well worth a
If I make changes will definitely be going down this road, thanks 😊
Looks like you had a fun day riding (and any time riding is ok by me 👍🏻)
Yep had a blast, as you say any day to get out and twist the throttle is a great day 😊
Lol 😂 yeah the horns pretty miserable but to be fair i hardly ever use it
I think you need a new horn😂
Thank you for sharing the video. I am thinking of buying one but have read a lot of bad reviews on the handling . Great looking machine
The handling can be squirrely and jittery, can be solved with the aftermarket steering damper, as I said many thought it should have been a factory fitment, though to keep costs down its a fairly basic machine. 😊😊😊
I have a 23 Sport. If you get one get the sport or the rally as the upgraded suspension improves the handling. Only thing I added was the slingmods end links. Mine doesn't feel squirrely at all on the highway going 80+. Now the suspension could be better as far as handling bumps and rough roads though.
Yep I heard end links and better sway bar makes a huge difference, mines also a 23 sport but I think to be fair it's less the bike and more our New Zealand back roads, rough and bumpy!!!!! 😊
@@-champ-4727set all springs to level 4 and it will handle better. The damper level depends on your weight honestly
I'm a big guy @ 6ft 220 lbs. Center of gravity is off a bit due to my weight. I've learned to throw my weight around in turns and tbh I don't have any issues at 50mph through a turn on my 2020 Rally. It's so much fun. If you have enough strength in your arms and shoulders, you won't even notice the lack of power steering. I have experience on a Spyder and it's just not the same fun experience. The Ryker feels a lot more sporty to me. I'll eventually own a Spyder for touring, but the Ryker will always remain in the garage.
Can you explain what ur doing when taking the curves? Are u breaking or releasing the throttle? Are you hugging w the knees?
No problem, I release the throttle coming into curves, slight touch of brakes, if left curve I'm leaning to left, hugging with left knee and pushing on right foot peg, do oppposite with right curves, usually feed the power on when exiting, hope that explains ok 😊
Me like
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated.
Your welcome 😊
Man you need some dialog with your nice videos.
Yep I agree, looking at a media mod and helmet mic in near future 😊
Lovely countryside to ride in
It certainly is, great weather and awesome views 😊
I would definitely fuck myself up on those curves😂
Trafik soldanmis. Bende ulan ne yapiyor bu manyak diyordum.
Lol yep different countries different sides of road we drive on 🤣.
I hope so too 😊
Thanks for sharing this... and looking forward to your trip on the road.. hope the weather holds out for you.
I hope so too!
Yeah keeps you pretty focused lol 😊
Battle Mountain didn't have any when I drove it in the 80's. Behind Vail. I was almost late to work a few times 😅
And only 10 times more dangerous than two wheels
Lovely day for a ride!
Yes it was! 😊
