From the video vault, or are you back on the little creek? Since June Monroe is 2 ft below pool because they are working to stabilize part of the dam.
@tomwaller2953 this video was shot over a year ago.
Nice.
You back in Coonass county?
@@deanlamberth0sbcglob this video was shot over a year ago.
Nice work! Gotta do what you gotta do!!
Good music, dammit man they keep putting more on ya. Happy Thanksgiving
That music sounds familiar, you played it before?
@@anthonymaddison9588 probably. Almost 300 videos. I'm sure there are repeats in the music.
I like it.
Excuse my ignorance, but how do they pull the first load of barges out of the lock before you get back in with the second cut?
@colincook7452 We sometimes have a Boat on the other side ready to pull out the first cut. If not we use a 200' mule line and the lock will basically pull the cut out using a tug on the wall.
I always loved that area cuz there are lots of old boats in and around the dry docks
Awesome music and lots of action at the new lock
Some days you nail it first time and other days you fight it. I do the same with my 53 foot wagon.
Is there any chance of a boat walk through?
@FRIGHTLINERDELUX highly unlikely. There is a corps of engineers boat in Vicksburg. I understand they give tours.
@@jamesmediallc8933 Not in person. I meant you with your camera LOL
@FRIGHTLINERDELUX Oh! Well. I guess. That's not really my thing. It'll probably have to wait until next trip. I'll bring my gimbal. I'm not a fan of the ole shaky came videos.
I always watch Marktwained Then I came across your channel I have subscribed Keep up the good work. :)
@FRIGHTLINERDELUX i have almost 3 years worth of content on here. Check em out.
nice trip. Grate music. :)
Good recovery
Also, those look like CPD barges.
Which M/V was this recorded on out of curiosity?
Great music, I didn’t see any sparks when you bumped the rocks
You don’t have to use Wilson Lock do you?
@@deanlamberth0sbcglob a couple of times.
@@jamesmediallc8933 aren’t they down to the small lock?
@deanlamberth0sbcglob I dunno. It's been awhile since I went through there.
@@jamesmediallc8933 pretty sure there down to the 600 foot chamber with double locking.
I like me some dirty water.
I wondered if anyone noticed that I do that.
@jamesmediallc8933 noticed and enjoyed.
👍💯👍
Good music and video
Enjoyed, went full screen on my computer and at my sandwich and chips while watching.
What other tasks do the deck hands do while under way? I know they check the tow and work during locks.. but what else?
@nedflanders7352 chip, grind, sand, paint. Organize supplies, clean, maintenance, the list is endless.
👍💯👍
Do they still harvest lots of fresh water oysters, mussels up there?
@@deanlamberth0sbcglob I have no idea. I would assume that they do around muscle shoals.
@@jamesmediallc8933 there funny looking boats used to be all over the river
Kool music, you need some pleasure craft excitement 😎✌️
Do you use mile marks for navigation and or communication?
I would have to say both. No signs to say where you are and so you can communicate location with other boats.
That’s a beautiful river. At the 10 minute mark that’s a handful for that river.
Awesome music
Nice work as usual.

More refresher courses 😅 Nicely done! 👏👏
Your videos are providing a refresher course in all the most vital parts of the most traveled waterways. Just what's needed after my long absence. Thanks!
Nice video, JR! Love the KY Lock and the lake above. Familiar territory from my past.
Nice addition to the James Media collection. 👍👍
Beautiful time to be on the river, great video cool tunes 👍

@@jamesmediallc8933 Ok, did ya get any weather?
Kool music
@anthonymaddison9588 a little bit. We were around Greenville Mississippi.
You safe from that weather?
@anthonymaddison9588 This was recorded over 6 months ago. Saving it and a few others for when I haven't had time to edit new ones.
Great music and clear and bright video

Nice weather.
Sure is nice up there
@deanlamberth0sbcglob the upper end of the lower Mississippi is terrible right now.
Memphis gauge was near -8 Sunday
@@deanlamberth0sbcglob it was -10.3 yesterday.
very nice!
Best part of UA-cam is seeing things that you wouldn't without a lot of money and time being spent. Never knew they transported rock on barges in KY and its real cool to see. Thanks for sharing!
