How to make Tom Riddle’s ( Voldemort ) wand from Harry Potter

Why has no one made Tom Riddle’s wand from Yew wood yet? Taxus baccata (European yew) is a well known poisonous plant. Eating a relatively small quantity of leaves can be fatal for livestock and humans. The toxicity of yew leaves is due to the presence of alkaloids known as taxines, of which taxine B is suspected as being one of the most poisonous. RIGHT. That’s probably why. PLEASE WEAR A RESP...

We moved into our home March 2021 and a neighbor was trimming his tree. I saved a cutting from one of the branches hoping to make something from it. It’s been sitting in front of our door for a year and a half hoping it would dry out enough for turning. Hope she likes it. Music from Freeplaymusic.com Fuyu_60

    Funny story. Before actually looking up how to make this. I bought the wand from Spirit of Halloween, literally to use a template to make it. I watched a few videos, and they used clay to mold the wand. That wouldn't do. I came across your video. It was like looking in a mirror to a more famous version of myself, creating the wand exactly how I kind of planned it out. I plan on grabbing Yew but want to go through the process and glued 2x4 scrap pieces of pine for length (13.5"). I cut them out with the bandsaw and used the drill hole technique you showed to help with the handle curves. I got two rough cuts by cutting it in half a long way. I then used my 1x30 belt grinder to get the wand tip and shaft to a reasonable roundish shape. I finished the wand using my vise and folding handheld belt sander paper and pushing it in. Sanded 40, then 80 grit to make a rounded tip and shaft, then 180, and will finish with 220 grit. It's not the most symmetrical, but I figured it's a wand, and it is supposed to look wavy. The point. I only had to watch your video once to to the project because you literally show the simplest way to get there, and B, you got yourself another sub and fan because you make great videos and do amazing work. Thank you! 🎉

    Great video! What is the purpose of the jewelers cut?

    • @MrPinski1
      @MrPinski1 Рік тому

      Thank you. The jewelers cut makes it easier to take the mold off the castings and will ensure that the mold lasts longer. The easier it is to take off the casting, the less stress on the silicone over time.
