Fascinating story. Is there any information as to why her father had to escape the fallen Nazi Germany as a stowaway?
Watching in December 2024. Never heard of it. Untill it came on my feed.
So late here
Specky twat
I guess you find out my ringtone 😂
The idea of taking a break from the kind of tight-knit societal expectations of the ‘50s by taking your first dose of LSD sounds like an incredible trip, and it’s awesome she just completely leaned into that and had fun with it.

Thank to Yuliana and Thank God for save Human 🙏
At 2:43 When she is standing under the outdoor light at night, amidst all the bugs flying around, Herzog says they are crickets. This is incorrect. What they are, and what she holds up is a *Cicada*.
Ve shall eat zee crickets….
Morbid Podcast brought me here. She's some woman for one woman!
The music seems not to match the experience!!😂
Awesome documentary!
The creation of an addict. Lol.
She made the journey . . . music.ua-cam.com/video/p3YiZXfA-is/v-deo.html&feature=share
Simply a marvellous documentary. I'm amazed by Juliane's will to survive and the steps taken after she found herself alive in middle of jungle. She is a rare breed indeed! I am really touched by the men who saved her, especially the gentleman who got stung by stingray while clearing the path near crash site. Truly a kind man. God bless his soul. Without a doubt this documentary is a life lesson for me. It unwittingly taught me so many things. My sincere thanks to everyone who were part of this documentary and the person who uploaded it. - Love from India.
thank god someone realized how sick the instrumental is
yeah
I remember hearing this at New Zealand trade show arcade areas, in the 80s etc, great music, to listen to, while you're on one of those rides anti-gravity I think.
Have they salvaged the black boxes?
Black boxes ( FDRs) became mandatory on US planes in 1967. Australia was the first to make them mandatory in their country. I don’t know when Peru started. That plane was so cobbled together, it would not be surprising if there was no FDR. Lightning may have hit the plane and ignited the fuel fumes.
Music? For what?😢
So sad
Herzog amazing director perfect for this true story
"Aguirre, The Wrath of God" brought me here...
Finished reading her biography a few days ago & now, just finished watching the documentary. Amazing story of an incredible young woman's & her tenacity for survival. Juliane Koepcke, you are truly an inspiration!
I was really taken by how beautiful she was.
Such a brave girl, my daughter is 18, I couldn't imagine her going through this. Much love to this strong, amazing, beautiful and brave woman💙💜♥️
i think her dad was a nazi. very nazi sounding escape....shortly after the war lol
What an AWESOME story of survival. She's an inspiration. One in 100 million chance. Only explanation, she wasn't supposed to die. She's my hero.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you for sharing.
You're very welcome
I really appreciate this sharing of this movie. What an extraordinary woman who went on to have a great life of service to the jungle and its creatures!
She really is, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
She is a pure soul, blessed special lady.
What an amazing story and film. It is heart touching.

Maggots seem to be used INTENTIONALLY in medicine at times these days.
Her bravery surviving the crash is incredible, but her fearlessness of the mosquitoes, flies, bats, piranhas, snakes, crocodiles and stingrays is a whole other vibe!
it was her German discipline and German willpower that got her thru the 11 days in the jungle. any other western woman would have severe PSTD if they survived and probably would have died in the jungle
This documentary needs a remake!!!
I'd prefer this without Herzog's narration. And I'd be much more interested to hear from the Peru people who actually dealt with this at the time. And without narration in English. Like Herzog's involvement makes no sense.
Another compelling Werner Herzog documentary. This is my 2nd time to see his work; the first being "Grizzly Man," about a man who lived near Alaskan grizzly bears for 13 years until he was killed by one. Thank you Mr. Herzog!
Blue and Red
Wow.
What an extraordinary story! Such a strong woman, very admirable.
I think this documentary lost the real topic..people wanted to know how she survived Those days she was alone at the jungle.the story seemed like about jungle and amazon..just saying...
a shelter? what’s that a joke? what was she going to do take up residence in the forest?
In order to get out of the rain and sleep in some degree of comfort.
Sleeping in the rain especially at night time can cause hypothermia. She states it was very cold at night time and she only had a mini dress and 1 flip flop.
She did take up residence in the forest for 9 nights...
I think he’s demonstrating that with two simple tools (a lighter and a machete) she had the skills and jungle experience necessary to perform all these tasks that would each contribute to easing her difficult circumstances.
at last a change in her affect
again this lady’s affect is scary. i won’t speculate any further as i don’t really know anything about her
i wouldn’t go inside that hollow tree for all the whiskey in ireland
parents who drag small children to such god forsaken places to satisfy their own needs ought to be hung by their tongues for a while.
this lady’s affect is scary
