My theripast thinks i should go to long term-
With body checks it depends on the hospital. I went to the psych ward last year and they don't body check you.

I really liked the place I went to a couple years ago. I stayed for a week and I was able to have my parents bring me my stuffed Pikachu and, like, 6 books on the second day. We could stay in our rooms if we wanted and if not the TV was always on during the hours we could go out of our rooms. We could also color or draw if we wanted. All in all, just a nice place
The Duke Of Ukulele same I went to a place called prairie care a few months back and it was really nice and everyone was friendly and we had a lot of freedom during day hours

what if you cant take strings out of the hoodie? (eg: sewn on)
Usually you can put it into some sort of storage until you get discharged. Some places will let you try to rip it out, but I wouldn't count on it:(
