It's been so long since we saw a period of clear skies and good flying weather in the UK. Finally, it feels like Summer is on the way! SkyHighGirl and I flew over to Turweston Aerodrome for some lunch. This video covers the flight from Turweston to Wolverhampton. It's still early days in terms of equipment and working out cameras, positioning etc, so please bear with me. It has minimal editing,...

Winter Fun in the Cavalon

A few circuits and a nice little flight to test the new 360 camera.. Any excuse to take the Cavalon out..!
That was nicely done :)
Thanks! I was aware that I hadn't flown for a few weeks and that I would be landing at a potentially very busy and complex airport. Landing at Gloucester can be quite a high mental workload as there are a lot of fast aircraft around, but this one went nicely. Glad you enjoyed :)
@@Sky_High_Guy Yeah, there was so much going on in unfamiliar territory. And it's not like there's a ctrl+z. Fair play, you nailed it.

Gyrobee looks like great fun. Maybe I'll keep one for sunny days ha
Nice video...hope to see new video soon
Thank you. I have published a new video today. I hope you enjoy.
Great Video.... thanks for sharing.....Where you at Shobdon to see Tom? The Orange Gyroplane was the AutoGyro UK Agent Richard Davies in the Cavalon 916i with a full auto pilot glass cockpit..... absolutely amazing machine. Thanks again 👍 kind regards Paul T
Hi Paul. Thanks for that. I was just popping in for some cake. Blimey, a 916 with autopilot - what a machine indeed! Hope to see you soon. Happy flying :-)
Good video and cool Gyro, It looks fun to fly. I visited Wolverhampton today airport . Thanks for sharing
Nice flight :)
The tower TC was superb. Calm, informative switched on brilliant
You're one of the few gyroplane pilots on UA-cam that actually show cross country flights. Thanks so much for that.
I'm glad you find it of value. Thanks for the feedback!
Beautiful video! What make/model are you flying?
Thanks very much. I'm glad you like it. This Gyro is an Autogyro Cavalon with a Rotax 914 Turbo charged engine, and a pitch adjustable IVOProp. Cheers
You spin up the blades when taxiing because it means the blades have lift during all the bumps it protects the rotors and bearings.
Love the video but there was nothing wrong with old gyros, Bensen was an aeronautical engineer. He designed a safe gyro, provided you built it to his plans, provided you got training. The training then and still too much now was not good enough and many never got training. They worked out gyros in the 1920's
Thanks for that lovely video. I’ve been checking out Gyros and was very interested. Some of the videos I watched were a bit gung-ho and “look how clever I am” I was a glider pilot so this is my next step and thank you for confirming it for me.
No problem, thanks for the comment and feedback. That's awesome. Gyro's are amazing fun and I think are one of the safest forms of aviation. Definitely find a professional gyro school and take some trial flights, 100% you'll love it. Cheers
I enjoy your vids! I hope you continue to upload. I'm an enthusiast starting my journey and really enjoy the longer vids! Cheers!
That's great to hear, thanks for the feedback! It's so nice to see fellow Gyronauts enjoying the content. Best of luck with your journey towards a license. I shall try to get more content out soon. Happy flying! Cheers
@@Sky_High_Guy Thank you!
Can't watch this, .. Why the stupid Muzak? Aviators like to hear the actual soundtrack. No the seemingly mandatory mind numbing YouRubbish Muzak! Thumbs down and just another to block.
Nice flight SkyHighGuy, music was good too.
Thanks Mr Gee , glad you enjoyed!
What make and model is your gyro? What kind of engine does it have?
It’s an AutoGyro Cavalon. This one has a Rotax 914 engine, so it has a Turbo but not fuel injection like the newer 915.
Wow, Gyro-copters are are marvel of ingenuity v=UyduIDPVVlE, I had no idea. Really good video, camera work and music too. Congrats on your flight, lucky man.
Thanks Andy, that's very kind. Indeed, most fortunate to be able to fly this lovely machine. I'll be doing some detailed videos in the future and hope to get the blog off the ground soon too so watch this space. Hope you're doing well my friend. Cheers
@@Sky_High_Guy Looking forward to seeing those.
Thanks Adam - nice flight, hope to catch-up with you sometime over the summer.
Nice video, a great day out on a lovely weeked
