Thank you so much for such great information! I was having the hardest time finding out what my options were as far as coverings for my sliding glass door. Both Home Depot and Lowe's employees were totally stumped when I asked this question! Finally someone who knows what they're talking about!
How do the shades 'trap air' when they are open at both ends??
Nope! Just renovated and stupidly listened to a curtain ‘expert’ and got roman blinds instead of curtains. Big mistake. They are so oversized. Stupidly chose a striped fabric that makes them look like a circus tent awning. I cannot stand them. Going to remove them as soon as we move back in.
Thank you for this comment. I was thinking about Roman shades
@@Chimiri88 I was hoping at least someone might learn from my mistake! I think if they are neutral and not blockout and also fit inside the window frame they can look nice. I thought ours were going to be hung within the frame and be less of a ‘feature’. But they were hung well above the frame and extended beyond it so they dominate the room and not in a good way. I hope to replace ours with curtains asap.

I've been looking for accordion vertical slider shade that can be opened from both sides.
This was so helpful. Thanks!
What about " smart drapes" - the combination curtains and vertical blind mash up. Convinient to walk right through and it gives variability of light filtration / privacy adjustment
This would be a perfect alternative.
I thought this was a channel for blind people who wanted black out curtains for some reason
I remember when i was a little kid, i used to use the string of the blind turner and put it around my neck so i can spin around, but then it got tied in a knot and got stuck, i started suffocating, this is really useful.
Thx great video 😊
What's could widths be?
❤.
Thank you so much.
I hate the name PLANTATION SHUTTERS
Well that's what they are.
These seem like they wouldn’t have the same efficiency as normal cell shades, given the space is so minimal
Depending on the type of honeycomb shade, you are right. Some honeycomb shades are thicker than others and some have double cells. The r value is minimal though in comparison and the thickness of the Sonnette Shades fabric does make up for the minimal space.
Best video on cellular shades
I’m going INSANE trying to figure out if I have these blinds or for some reason blinds that DONT LIFT exist and I’m a moron
I have the banded shades but drapes on the side for show. I do want to say that we're in the Midwest and one thing we have to do is have ventilation at night or we end up with condensation on our double paned windows. That means opening up window coverings at night and running the ceiling fans on low.

Thank you so much for this video. ❤
How can i get this in Nigeria
Who is this made by?
Thank you for very much, this was Very helpful!!!
Would you give me positive vibes
Where are you from I’m also working on like this type Chanel but you are working awesome
Hi bro
Curtain rods and curtains with sheers. Elegant and you can change them when you like. Also a lot less costly
0:34 look at the idiot in the center with his left hand in his pocket and right behind him.
.mp4 here we go!
(I’m not hating) When your to lazy to pull down your own shades:
Do the sheer options have the same insulating properties as the light filtering ones? If I go with just light filtering, and leave 8-12 inches open to see the view, will it significantly reduce the heat blocking ability of the shade? Thank you.
That's right, not left.
Thank you
Very informative! Thank you!
Can they be connected with Siri?
Yes they can. You'll need a bridge to connect them.
Actually l would like to see through shades from inside and not being seen from outside, do you have shades like this ?
There are sheer finishes to the shades that allow you to see through them. This will bring privacy during the day, but at night, they'll have the reverse affect. Less private at night.
Clear & concise explanation. Thanks!
Why are you soooooooo cute?
1:12 He said "shades of Gray"🤣🤣. Also, I'm ALWAYS bold and go for the pink!😸😂
Why are they so expensive?
Great overview of options, thanks! Question - I've seen videos with roller blinds that have side tracks that basically eliminate that gap... I'm wondering if you can get side tracks for honey comb blinds since those seem to be the best from an insulation perspective. Is it possible?
Excellent video, thank you. For the sliding panels, in the video it looks like 2.5’ is wasted on the right side (meaning is covered and not openable), is this the minimum that can be wasted for a 12’ wide covering? Can that part be overlapping a wall to the side of the sliding doors so it doesn’t block the windows? Is the track deeper on the far right to stack the panels? And finally, does anyone make a control integrated to Google assistant? Thanks and great video.
Would you suggest two hunter Douglas vignette shades for a patio door ? 70 inches wide . How deep does the casement need to be ?
Hi Elizabeth. You can absolutely add a Vignette shade on a patio door. You'll want about 2 inches to install and about 3.5 inches to be fully recessed.
Good bro
Loving these low maintenance window coverings.

What do you call the drapes and track system in your video starting at 1:28? How does the one panel drapery slide past the two inner support brackets? It must work differently than grommet draperies cuz with those, you need a separate drape panel between each support bracket.
There are a handful of options for hanging drapers. Overall, they fall in the categories of curtain rods or traverse systems. The one you see in the video is a decorative traverse, meaning the operating pieces are looped inside the pole so it glides right across. Hope this helps.
What brand of honeycomb shades do you use?
It is mostly dependent on your budget. If it's right, Hunter Douglas shades are one of the best in the business. However, if that's too much, Graber honeycomb shades would be the next best with great quality at a lesser cost.
Quality window coNverings? Plantaion Shutters? Proofreading is important. Not professional.
Thank you for your critique! We are a professional window treatment company, and true, not a professional video company. I will do my best to proofread and produce informative content. I appreciate the pointers and am learning as I go.
Wonderful video Chris! I'll check into your site. Thanks so much.
Another great Video!
