Unessential Oils is a new project by Warren Spicer, singer of the Montreal band Plants and Animals. The project is inspired by jazz and folk, Tropicália, Jorge Ben, Daniel Lanois, Miles Davis and more. The music was all conceived while bathing. It is very open and malleable, and has been compared to Alabaster DePlume, Connan Mockasin, Hermanos Gutiérrez and Devendra Banhart. You will find everything from music videos, live performances and content created by and for Unessential Oils.

I must say, that this LP is easily one of the best albums this year for me, if not the best one overall. It was long ago for me since last time a complete LP was such pleasant experience, not only one single song and all the rest pretty mediocre (what happens with most albums nowadays), but every track is on the same perfect level, with everything exactly as it should be, great mix, great melodies, fantastic arrangements, instrumentals, background singers etc. This album is pure joy to listen to and thank you for that!
