raw land Off Grid Homestead DIY house build
in 2021 we moved 2000 miles across the US. From the Midwest deserts to the forests of Tennessee. We purchased 10 acres of wooded land with nothing but an RV and a dream. Our family; mom, dad, four kids and a dog, moved from the city to the backwoods. We wanted to build a home and live on a homestead growing a great portion of our own food.
But issue after issue after setback after financial ruin after medical emergency after natural disaster .. we almost gave up .. almost..
finley! Now in 2024 we have made a huge leap forward with the build of our house. Join us to learn and grow as we share valuable insights to become self reliant and live off grid with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs.
Our goal is to live comfortably like a "city house" complete with air conditioning but without any of the city! Can it be achieved? .. let's find out together!

Dry cure bacon, hog jowl, ham, & offset smoke, package and store
Переглядів 973 місяці тому
We raise and butcher all our own meat. This is a hog we raised in the forest, it got to run around happily eating acorns and grubs. We got about 150 lbs of meat in total. 17 lbs was cured bacon, ham, and hog jowls (we call this second bacon because it’s nearly identical looking and tasting). #homestead #bacon #smoker

Wow, show us more!
That looks so awesome out there! Keep the videos coming!!
Hi, what is your preparation for your rabbitry before the winter time? Thank you for your answer
Your hair looks good. I love the outdoors. I'm in Mississippi. I need to get out. Have no bills. Just rent. I'm free to start anytime I want. I'm single and 62. I would have to do it on my own. I like the quiet and the nature and the sound of birds. ❤😊
Great video and youre hair looks great!
Thanks! I appreciate that
Subscribed from TikTok! I’m glad you have a UA-cam!
Thanks for coming over! More of the good stuff will be posted here, not TikTok
Excellent video!
Excellent video!
I loved your advice on rolling down the vacuum bag! Shared it with my wife and she agreed it was an excellent idea!
I’m happy you found something helpful!
“Are you finished?” “I know she didn’t, but did you?” “I know, you probably want to cuddle.” Hilarious! First time viewer. New scriber.
Welcome! Thanks for subscribing. Glad you enjoyed the humor. I enjoy my time with my animals
Imagine the food's so good you stiff up and your brother takes your plate. Typical sibling stuff

They are a very different animal ❤ so much nicer to each other lol
That did it, now I am hungry.
It looks delicious! Great video, thank you.
Looks better than chicken of the cave
❤
😂😂😂
Don’t freeze them like that. All mushrooms need blanched before freezing. They’ll mush just like any mushrooms will when you freeze them because they’re 90% water. Blanch them to remove the water then freeze them. You just trashed a huge amount of mushrooms and a whole roll of FoodSaver bags.
I'm so dumb!! I watched this on TT. But when I got the notification for this I thought it said BREADING rabbits and thought oh yummy!!
😂😂 good idea!! I have some thigh meat i could bread and fry for “chicken sandwiches”
@@BirdsNherds Oh man that sounds so good. Could you also do a video on how to make the goat sour creme?
I thought the thumbnail was a croissant
Oh weird.. I didn’t even make a thumbnail 😂. Learning this platform still! Thank you for bringing that to my attention. .. also, sounds like you need a delicious flaky croissant, go ahead and treat yourself.

Nah, you’re just saying that. Thank you. I appreciate your comment.
@@BirdsNherds no, seriously, great video!
Mmm looks yummy. I am going to have to try some.
They will keep in the freezer for over a year in these vacuum sealed bags, so by time you finally get here in you solar powered golf cart we can enjoy some chicken of the woods mushroom!
I know nothing about mushrooms and have been a mushroom hater my 30 years of life, but I want to learn to keep my mind open and change! I know nothing about different kinds of mushrooms, and also want to learn how to start trying to maybe make a tiny little garden to just help my partner and I offset our footprint and stuff. This was a really lovely find. Subbed, and I'm looking forward to hopefully being pleasantly surprised with the occasional upload form you to give me a random wholesome diversion <3 !
Amazing! I’m honored to have your mushroom hating self here with an open mind. I love that! Thank you for the support.
Thanks for sharing! Too cool :)
2 does and 1 buck? How many does per buck?
I have 4 Does 1 Buck. He could easily service 6 Does for me. A lot depends on what genetics you’re looking for.
@@BirdsNherds Thank you. That's very helpful.
He gets all the does!
That’s the worst video quality. You’ll never make it as a UA-camr with that garbage
The video quality is fine
@@MusTheFan oh thank you for this comment! I’m new here and that was my trial video to see the process. I appreciate the input

@@BirdsNherdsyou did a great job with the commentary! Looking forward to more videos :)
