This is so crazy to me, I’m from Redding and moved to the Bay Area about 15 years ago. I still go back to visit family, but seeing this is really a slap in the face about price difference. You couldn’t even buy a 1bedroom shack in the Bay Area for 400,000

I have to laugh at houses in California. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig and charging a high price. They’re still pigs.

ill tell you what u get for 400K in Redding: homeless people, tweekers, criminals, trash, fire, police gangs, graffiti, corrupt government, nothing to do, horrible healthcare, terrible education, religious fanatics, needles - shall I go on?

What is the cheapest place to rent ? Just for one person

lots of nice homes and I in West Redding and I have one in Country Heights on Blue Bell Dr. 1811 sq ft. on a green belt lot built in 1997. I have lived here since 2005 and I am here for the duration.

How does the Bethel mega church affect property values? How much power do they have in town as in laws, school influence etc? If any? Ive heard about this area and this church and I dont even live in CA. But I was interested in this area but not sure now. Thank you for any insight you may have.

The neighborhoods I would not purchase in are because of the extreme fire danger. The Carr fire was in the rural western area of Redding and it can become a tinderbox in the summer. I would look for homes in residential areas east of highway 5.

Thieves openly walk out of stores with anything they want including Microwave ovens and nothing is done to stop them. You can steal up to $950 and only be issued a misdemeanor ticket for doing so, IF the police show up. Cars are routinely broken into in parking lots. Drug houses are everywhere. Talk to the police before moving into Redding!
