Love that bike but ya never know
That was my first bike. Same color and yes it was a 72. Enjoyed riding it with my friend's that had mini bikes and motorcycle's.
Great bike, glad you enjoyed it!

It should! Can’t imagine it getting hotter than that but we will find out!!
The camera girl is amazing. Gotta love the sound and smell of old Yamaha 2 strokes

Sweet !!
Thanks kenny

@@GregBall-sh8lv the final video will include you and Chad picking it up!!
If serial # is between LT2-035101 & LT2-071760 it is a '73 no matter what date it was sold and titled as a '72. Nothing unusual for a bike made in Sept to be made for the following year sales. Japanese bikes were titled in the year sold until about 1973 and in 1976 the manufactures were required to designate a model year, which is usually seen on the frame neck. If it was my bike I'd call it a '73 that's titled as a '72. It's more common on the older bikes to be as example a '66 titled as a '67 which just meant it sat in the show room for a year or more. I have a Honda that was stamped made in '66 but titled as a 1969. Not anything worth arguing about IMHO. By the way that's a nice example of the model. Nice restoration as well.
Thanks for the input
What boat do you run that on?
14 36 I think it’s about 1985 hull out of Texas

Very cool ! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching!
put your air cleaner in a plastic bag and then oil it. You won’t have a mess. And you’re not supposed to use just regular oil, you have to use air filter oil because it trips the dirt on the outside of the filter, regular oil can get sucked through the filter and carry dirt in with it. Air filter oil is very gummy and sticky. If you had it on two of your fingers and spread your fingers. you would see hundreds of tiny, gummy spiderweb, looking strands of that gum in air filter, oil the traps dirt on the surface and doesn’t let it get sucked through the air cleaner the way oil will. it’s also a good idea to use Delray waterproof grease around the edges of the air cleaner so dirt can’t work its way around the filter. And seal the lid with waterproof grease where it makes contact with the airbox . I did the air cleaners on my two stroke dirtbike’s after every ride. Many motocross guys will have clean, fresh recoiled, air filters, ready to go, and they will sometimes change the air filter. Every time they pull in for gas between moto‘s. They will have three or four air cleaners, ready to go especially when it’s very dusty…
That is a great idea! Thanks for comments and tips!!
I have the same model Year same color from Farmington, Missouri.
Gotta love those old Yamas!!!! Thanks for the comment!

Should’ve put some silicone on the self tapper that way when you sunk the screw it would dry the silicone and create a water and air proof seal

I bought that same bike brand new in 1972. Has that one been repainted? Looks more of a bronze orange in the video. Mine was a bright orange.
Thanks for your comment and yes I did paint it my first time painting candy mandarin orange think it’s the 73 color 72 was more yellow I think take care
How much do the boats cost?
There are different sizes and set ups -I suggested contacting Viv at Eagle View!!
Do you know if these boats have any wood in them? I had an old stumpknocker that did. Thanks
@@OZD-mb2bs wood in the transom-that’s it!
Yes, that's usual for dirt bike tires: Soft terrain tires have harder rubber and hard terrain tires have softer rubber.
Agreed, with these tires, it's the carcass too.
@@CrustyCycle9317 That's typical, too, to keep the knobs from flexing and breaking off. The knobs of a soft terrain tire are taller.

Thank you sir it’s fun to grab a old piece of junk and bring it back to it old self take care
I had the same 79 GT 80 red and silver. My father bought it new for my brothers and I in 1979. The forks were very weak and they would twist and the upper clamp would bend. had to fix that a few times. Later I got a YZ80.
Best dad ever glad to show this old bike to you thanks look on my channel I have a 79 Yz 80 I re did take care of
Where are you located ? Looking to get a 79 yz 80 restored
I just restore the bikes for my collection but thanks for your interest
In the spring of 1973 my dad bought me that exact same bike...I was 12 years old. Dealer said it was a 72 and so did the title. Ive had the same debate with another guy recently.
Best dad ever I never win the argument but what ever right thanks for the comment
Very nice place and really good folk's
Lots of fun! Great place!
Nice!!!
Thanks!
Yes paint the frame
It’s a work in progress lol
Wow, memories. Original fan style grips, color, muffler, everything. The Felicianos have the 125 and the gold 175, crazy & great times
Couldn't agree more!
The good thing about paint vs powder coat, you can at anytime touch up the paint if ever it gets chipped or scratched as you have spare paint so the color will be an identical match.
Good point -thanks!
Your bike looks in great condition. I can see why you like it. My Yamaha AT-2 story: My first motorcycle was a bike like this, a 1972 AT-2 in the orange paint color. Back then, Yamaha model year designations worked like this: 1971 = AT-1 1972 = AT-2 1973 = AT-3 Even though the engine serial number may say AT-1, they call a 1973 model an AT-3. In 1974, they dropped that method and started using a model year designating digit after the basic model designation: All 1974 Yamaha motorcycles had the letter A following their model designation. So, in 1974 this was changed to DT125A. A 1974 YZ125 was the YZ125A. The 1974 TY250 was the TY250A. 1975 models used the letter B. 1976 used the letter C. Much better system, actually, so your bike uses an older designation system. That's old! Anyway, even though I enjoyed riding my old AT-2, I bought it when I was 15 years old in September of 1981, when the bike was 9 years old and thoroughly obsolete. Not old enough to be a collectable antique or nostalgic, just old enough to be outdated and obsolete and undesirable by most people. A 1981 Yamaha YZ125H or 1981 Honda CR125R looked absolutely space-age compared to my 1972 AT-2, and unlike the attention old vintage bikes get these days, back in 1981, NOBODY wanted a 9-year-old AT-2, except for maybe a teen with no money to buy something modern. So, this has always shaped my view on vintage bikes. When the bike was simply old enough to be obsolete, most people wouldn't look sideways at it and wouldn't have given you a dime for it. It was when the bikes got to be 30, 40, or 50 years old and perhaps worth some money did they start to get attention. Might seem like common sense today, but back when I rode mine, it was obvious nobody cared about it except me.🤣🤣🤣
Wow that’s awesome!!! Thanks!
In my early teens I wanted one of these real bad and then the Elsinore came out. Wish I had one of each now
I hear ya!! Thanks
