Engine ticking noise Diagnosed and Fixed. You would not believe!!!
A simple overlooked scenario when trying to solve noisy engine hydraulic lifters.
It was a cheap fix but very frustrating to diagnose.

Sweet Car! I bet it rips with the new rocket. Please tell me it's a stick shift??!
I have the exact same sound on my 1991 na, going to look over the oil pan right now! Thanks for the help
did you buy the wire kit separately?
Thanks for doing this! Good thing to look out for.
The clip head is recessed within the clip so you have to push from the bottom nipple upwards to get the top of the connector to come up this way you can access it easier and it pulls right out
Thx for the video. Was very helpful. I bought the kit and was happy with the results however, I have my switch turned off but with a dimmer light all the time even when not running. Any advice on how it supposed to light ? Thx
Great find! Great car!
nice discovery my friend!
Nice bro I’m glad you got fix normally people give up on fixing them and here we are showing some support 😃😃😃
Is the lifter noise still gone?
I like your explanation. However, it is preferred if you used the factory prewired fog light harness instead of the kit. You just needed the lights themselves, the OEM relay, and the OEM turn signal/ fog light switch on the steering wheel column. This method is the correct way because you don’t have to put wires through the firewall that may cause problems in the future. It is also a cleaner install. It was your choice though so I respect that. Good job explaining the aftermarket kit process.
where can someone purchase the OEM turn signal/ fog light switch on the steering wheel?
HI YOU HAVE FIX THIS TAPING I CAN HEAR ON YOUR VIDEO BUT SOUNS LIKE THERE IS SOME MORE DEEP TAPPING AFTER YOUR FIX ON YOUR VIDEO WHICH I HAVE EXACTLY SAME DID YOU KNOW WHAT THAT COULD BE MY IS MOSTLY GONE WHEN HOT
Calm down
I followed every step you've done but still have the lights won't come on. U mentioned something bout u splice the ground? Why? I connected the ACC to the parking but didn't work at all. What did I do wrong?
My car makes same sound its a 2004 mercury marauder . Would you recommend i take it to a dealership and have them find the reason for the issue or should i start by buying a new oil pan and replacing it to see if that is the issue
I have the exact fog lights on my 2018 rav4 LE installed by toyota. My fog light look like flash lights when they are on. I dont know what happened but they are not bright like your fog lights. Any idea?
Nice job my friend just subscribed do the same for me please. Usually you can run some arf and some seafoam and it will quiet things up. Jdm engine sit for s while and get sticky. Vtc cam gears make noise to. Always make sure suction strainer is not clogged. Low oil pressure will cause ticking in lifters. Oil pan is always dented on jdm motors after sitting on crate. It will cause another strange noise called oil cavitation. I actually had the same issue did the same thing with a slide hammer. Just make sure welds don't leak on pan mine seeps slightly. Replace the oil pan that one is pretty bad.
Will fog lights auto turn off when high beams are on? PA wont pass inspection if not
Thanks for posting this video, I’m going to be sorting the sticky lifters on my 91 twin turbo soon so will keep an eye on oil pressure too. 👌
Beautiful car my friend, im working on getting there body wise atleast, my engines on point though so thats a plus, and im itching to go 700hp eventually, all in time
Thanks
Thank you I am filling every step and you made easy 😀
I,m missing the 4 screws to attache the lights to bezel. what size are the self tapping screws ?? GREAT VIDEO!!!
how did wire the fog lights ..
Would it be possible on the final red wire step to just connect it to an (add a fuse) vs patching into park lights ?
Just wondering what are the harness with the green color already hanging there It is already prewired from the factory ?
They are but are disabled
Excellent video..continue the good work..have u ever installed daytime running light with fog lights..
Is there anywhere else I can connect the park light wire to the harness?
Hi I have 2019 rav4 And the battery in the back where I can hook the white wire thanks
Thanks for your time .
Thanks for recording and share this wonderful video.
Hi there, I wanna install that one on my rav4, can you please tell me. What is the name of fog light and which online site did you bought it. Thanks. Hopefully you will see my message thanks
Thank you for being so detailed.
Ez peasy on the battery connection. Thanks !
Thank you for explaining each step. A friend might be needed for some steps :)
Clearly explained and demonstrated !
It’s a hybrid tab 4
My friend I have 2019 rac 4 any video of fog light installition. Because I don’t know where to put a power wire that god into a batterie but my batterie is in the back
Why would u install the wires on the battery such a rookie mistake u should of got power from.the interior fuses much cleaner
Speak louder!!!!!!!
very good and straight to the point
what happened to that other piece that was attached to the fog light blank ? also it would have been helpful to see the fire wall after you ran the wire - were you able to close it or did you have to cut a hole? great video.. I have a 2019 and I want to do the same...
I bought foglight harness it doesnt come with fuse in it and the color wires are black , white, and yellow. I know that the black is for ground, is the white color is always goes to the battery.
I think this video is great. It will be a big help when I install my lights soon as it warms up here in a few days, I want to answer a question that I and a couple other viewers had. Trini Valley forgot to address it. Yes there is a factory wiring harness already installed. If you figure out how to use it the fog lights will operate ONLY WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON LOW BEAM. That's not the best way to use fog lights in really dense fog. The way that was shown in the video allows the fog lights to be used with the low beam headlights both on and off. Inside the car you can switch the lights to park, the headlights go off and the fog lights will work. You will be able to see better without the low beams. You will always have the tail lights on so it is still safe for cars coming up behind you. Dynamite video. PS. Now in December 2019, kits are available on Amazon for just $40 and $50. The $50 kit I purchased has SAE approved lenses. The $40 kit does not. I also installed LED bulbs in place of the halogens supplied with the kit.
Thanks for your video. So where did you guys buy the whole fog light kit?
Ebay
Does the last red cable connecting to the park light (green cable) the same as connecting to the ignition ???
best of yours
excellent job
low volume
At 14:40 you see the green connector pre wired
But no powrred
Love the video bro....the best that's available on UA-cam...you explained it well along with visual recording, so those that dont know about car can see it clear what your are talking about and not get lost....been looking for a vi6like this for my Toyota highlander...thank you!!!
