ancient thermostats last longer than new ones. I have electric heat ..it's not dangerous...it is great heat, but it is expensive to use electricity.

You could make part of the grounds into a wild flower meadow. Looks beautiful, attracts butterflies & hedgehogs - all aspects of the natural world.
