Could you react to 1944 Ukraine’s song in Eurovision 2016

The vocals weren't the best but for the first time in years, I really liked the staging and the performance version of the song grew on me. I was quite proud of it but nobody else was 😅 I understand the vocals but, unfortunately, most thought it was too sexual... Despite women and men always writhing around on stage, regularly, on TV.

I've just been in love with this song since day one. I listen to it every day and yes today, non-stop and I can't stop listening to it and I still haven't gotten tired of it. The more I watch and listen to her, the more I fall in love. That's a rarity for me too. I don't remember which song entered my ear, heart and soul like this a long time ago. It raises my pulse, my mood. I also listen to Remix DJ Mathey B in techno style. That mix knocks me off my feet in the car is regularly the first in my repertoire, of course I put it on the stick 10 times in a row so I don't have to play it back non-stop. Of course, I listen to it at maximum volume, so the speakers suffer. It is infectious and superbly processed. Both versions are crazy to me and I don't know which one is better for me. I love it this song

I only watched Eurovision 2023 because we happened to be with a friend who is religiously watching it. When Käärijä came up, I obviously didn't know what to expect and I became extremely overwhelmed and, I guess, confused. I knew I liked the song but I just ignored it and went on with life. I then watched this year's Eurovision just because we couldn't agree on what movie/series to watch with my partner, heard several great songs, and then revisited Käärijä as well. It's safe to say that whenever I'm driving, it's Käärijä blasting from the speakers.

The song ended at 11th position (Juries: 15th / Public: 8th). Two of the dancers are muslims/old Turks coming from Greece, currently living in Germany. That has been a different and unique in style proposal from Greece this year. Thanks for your reaction. Thank you from the Netherlands! Indeed the song was dedicated to his parents who passed away when he was 12-13 yo. He promised them he would one day make it to the Eurovision stage and he did, a lifelong dream come true, sadly for all of us and especially him, it ended a nightmare. The video in the background actually tells his life story and how he's still trapped in the past and connects to the lyrics (the original music video shows even more of this), it's quite deep. The PS2 style graphics are a recurring theme. The dance break is a Dutch thing, something we call "hakken", a rave dance style from the 90s. The mention of Papaoutai holds meaning as it is something he connects to, growing up without a dad. It might be fun to check out the song Luchtballon by Joost as well - it actually is a big finger at the EBU and gives us a glimpse on how he will continue after the pain inflicted. In it he even sampled a really nice hopeful mention another channel made in a reaction to this song before the contest.

The best song of this Eurosong, which was declared a victory by the audience through televoting, and that victory and the charms of the Eurosong were killed by the jury for who knows how many times and the victory was given to lgbt and gay ... a populist, very sad and shameful.

Fun fact “top of Europe” is the surname for a mountain in Switzerland called Jungfrau which is only the 4th highest peak in Europe and not even the highest in Switzerland, but you can get on top of it in a 30min funicular ride
