High Five Feature!
Переглядів 252 роки тому
I've been working on a personal website to showcase some of my projects and learn more web development. I developed this feature that allowed visitors to "high five" and leave a message behind. I ended up scrapping the ability to leave a message since I have no time to censor everyone's messages. Next.js / React. MongoDB. Instead of using an Express backend like I usually would, I used Next's b...

Biased AI Algorithms - The Big Question - What About Regulation in AI?
Переглядів 822 роки тому
Hi everyone, In class, we discussed the quotes “If I do not stand for myself, who will stand for me?” and “If I am only for myself, what am I?” I’d recently watched Joy Buolamwini’s TED talk on algorithmic bias. Her words, “We have entered the age of automation, overconfident, yet underprepared. If we fail to make ethical and inclusive artificial intelligence, we risk losing gains made in civil...

Great stuff. Struggling to solve this problem for my three young boys right now in the UK. Do you have any updates on progress here or any manufacturers who are engaging with you on this?

Hey there! I am regularly posting updates on the GoFundMe page here: gofund.me/6e57147e Scroll down to the "Updates" section to stay updated. I'm currently working with some manufacturers to create a prototype!

Hair back bun or braid and use helmet.

This isn't always possible. If you want to go to the park or to school, you shouldn't have to take down your hair, do a braid, and do your hair again after riding. Making a joohra can take 30 minutes, and tying a patka can take another 5 minutes.

Its actually a DIY hack...... Could be done at home..... Nothing innovative in it..... And there a whole parallel world where sikh boys can flatten up there hair.... So ultimately there no need for this kind of halmet .... But still its a good try..... Keep innovating

Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate you taking out the time to identify your concerns! Yes, you can DIY "hack" your helmet. This however reduces the integrity of the helmet, reducing the strength. Helmets are designed to reduce damage on impact. By cutting a hole in the structure of the helmet, the helmet no longer provides the same level of protection. Also, I do believe that in some places, riding with modified bicycle helmets may even be illegal. Secondly, yes you can flatten up your hair and wear a helmet. However, in certain situations this is inconvenient. You can't flatten your hair, bike to school, and then do your hair again, and redo your joora. When someone has poor vision, we don't ask them to "just squint" or "tough it out." We instead give them glasses. Finally, I can attest to the embarrassment when wearing a normal helmet in public. It doesn't look "good" and it certainly doesn't protect your head. The helmet I'm working on has been patented. It will address these concerns, undergoing thorough safety testing, and retaining a professional design.
