C4D Tutorial - How to make a Bitcoin using UV Mapping
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
Bitcoin has gotten really popular lately. I figured I'd take the opportunity to show you how I made this UV Mapping! Really excited to put this together and enjoyed putting it together. What is UV Mapping? it is the flat representation of the surface of a 3D model used to easily wrap textures. The process of creating a UV map is called UV unwrapping. The U and V refer to the horizontal and vert...

from Version 2023.0.0, do you need to add the Aces 1.2 config in the C4D project scene colour management settings.
would you know how to get another object to stick to the fabric?
very useful
Love u
thanks
Hello, I would like to ask you how the fabric can make it skewed in the end, as you showed at the end, what I do now, it will only stay regular all the time
Hey ! Can't seeOptimal Mapping in the new c4d?
Amazing!, did the final render was made with octane?
Redshift :)
Did you decide to switch to Redshift? I have 60 days left on my octane license and wondering if should I renew it or go full for redshift....what a question...
I would say…try it for a month and learn as much as you can about it. If you don’t like it switch back to Octane. That’s my take.
@@Nicksdesignspace ONE MORE SOFTWARE! OH, LORD. lol anyways thank you forthat
Color Management doesnt show up for me in my settings :/
You can also do: window>customization>set as default scene
how to reset it?
Thanks for the tutorial mate!
Очень полезно
tried it many times, didn't work for me but many thanks.
Sorry to hear! I'm curious; What isn't working for you? Perhaps I can give you some guidance. Cheers!
me too
This man is amazing at what he does. He’s the greatest team player you can hire!
Saw your link on LinkedIn, and here I am... I love this workflow hope to see more in the future
Thanks, man! That really means a lot 🙏

Nice tutorials. Which version of Octane you are using here?
When I use GMS it's just a loud distortion soft what's up with that?
Unlimited free trial!!
watcNice tutorialng one or two every night, SUPER helpful, cNice tutorialll and clear. Great content, can't wait to watch them all.
Are there plans for this to be added to octane x for macbook? I'm using the latest version but the functionality is missing :(
not working
Mann, why they make this so complicated is beyond me. Now in 25 the whole layout changed and you cant find half of these settings. Also why they dont make it traightforward like you make a selection and just paint in the layers like in all painting program. But thanks for the great tutorial
I wish I could answer that question. But hopefully they will make it easier!
Do you perhaps know where to find the HDRI environment?
@@Nicksdesignspace If you have the time, could you perhaps make a tutorial in R25?
hello, I got stuck at the point where you load opencolorIO into Octane under color management, the automatically does not show up at all, what should I do? this happens both with 24 and 25, and Octane version is 2021.1.2
Working on a new video to cover that! Stay tuned
Thanks for this. Question - how can you use different materials inside a mesher? it seems like it only allows to use one
I believe you have to have separate volume meshers at a time in order to have different materials. Hope it helps
Not working at all, seems like last octane version is bugged in color management menus for R25.
Hey man, I was wondering how to do this on R25. There is no color Mgmt. tab in settings. Thank you
Gonna make a new video soon with R25! Stay tuned!
@@Nicksdesignspace Thank you! Looking forward to it!
How to a setup ACES in the c4d Octane x PR13 on the macos12.0.1?
Seems that mac user have to wait for that feature.. as usual. Im switching to Redshift. ive had enough struggle with Octane on mac.
Great video, but once I do this and I open the EXR in Photoshop I lose all the layers with the passes,:(
Hey Manuel! Working on a new video that will go over passes including how to convert to ACES. Be on the lookout!
@@Nicksdesignspace Hey Nick, I found a way to open the EXR layered files in PS but even when in the viewer looks good, when you open it on PS all layers except for the beauty (no denoised) layer look wrong, like ACES doesnt really work… oh lord… looking forward to your video, thanks a lot,:)
Oh thanks to this video ua-cam.com/video/dksSrFWxLr4/v-deo.html and some experimentation I figured out how to do it without using EXRs. Just 16bits PSDs, :)
@@Nicksdesignspace I have been trying to figure this out also. I have been asking around on forums but still dont have an answer. If a video is coming, I would love to see it. Thanks
Amazing tutorial!!! Thank you so much
That means a lot! :) Thank you
Subscribed cuz of the background music, so good
Love this, the end result is a nice image too.
lol you just broadcasted that you crack the software
THanks so much! Other aces tutorials weren't working for me to get the same output. thanks for getting into all the details
Happy to help! Thanks for watching! 😊
holy fucking 1000 clicks later batman
how to improve this: put all objects in a seperate null, then drag and drop objects from the null into the VM. Very much organize yeah yeah
Thanks for the valuable video, direct and easy to follow. I was unable to get ACES running and was wondering if anyone could help. I got stuck at the point where you load opencolorIO into Octane (Octane Settings > Color Management > Environment Config File). My Octane render settings don't include a tab for Color Management. Any suggestions? I'm using C4D R21 with Octane Render engine.
Hey John! Thanks for checking out the video. If you don’t see the settings you should update to the latest octane render. That should do the trick.
The zip is corrupt, downloaded 3 times and it wont extract/allow me to make changes to it ;/. Gonna keep trying different methods to get it to work but thought I would post about it here in case others had the same issue.
Hi Ement. If that’s the case, I’ll provide a google drive link with a folder of the files and you guys can install it from there.
@@Nicksdesignspace Hey, I just downloaded the 1.2 version instead of the whole github zip. I got ACES working and I love it. Thanks for the tutorial man!
Anytime bud! Glad you got something out of this video. Cheers to learning!
What is the point use ACES and render in 8bit? If you just want this saturated look, you can always do it in photoshop or after effects... You just making your rendering more confusing at this point...
Thanks. is there any way to animate the octane emission material like a flashlight?
Yeah, I believe in the node editor you can. All you have to do is make a key frame going from 0 to 100.
Thank you yes I just stayed in the note editor frame by frame and then copy it and then repeat it and now it looks good thank you so much
A lot of people struggling with issue where picture viewer does not showing nor saving colors like its in live viewer. Important note is to make sure you have very latest Octane version!!!(at the time i write this comment its Octane 2020.2.4)
Thank you so much! Cheers!
To everyone who's confused by this: it's perfectly normal for the render to look overexposed in Aces. It's better to output in HDR 32bit Aces CG (Check out Chad Ashley's video) and then to use the OCIO plugin in After effects on top of your render to obtain the same image you had in the live viewer.
Here's an awesome recent video from SilverWingVFX which has a full Octane to After Effects aces workflow: ua-cam.com/video/ZIXceP3CKWI/v-deo.html
EXR would do the trick as well ?
@@danfilipradu Yes, i render everything in EXR. Check the Raphael Rau video, it's exactly what I do
Cinema 4d crash when I use bodypaint 3d set up
same 4 me didn't change anything :D
Hey Alex, reach out to me @Nick.Creates and I’ll do my best to help out
I dont know why, it still looks like without ACES when i render it with picture view. I did everything you did. And its fine on live viewer
Hey, which version of C4D you using?
@@Nicksdesignspace r23.110 , latest octane and latest Aces
Hello! Would you help me please? I have poor quality of bump (i think because of low res coin map) what should i do to make better quality without pixelization? Thanks!
My advice is when you do the wizard setup it’s to increase the resolution to 4K and make sure to also fill as much as you can the polygons in the UV. Hope that helps!
@@Nicksdesignspace Thank you! You are awesome! I just replaced bitcoin.jpg to a new file with higher resolution. It helps a little. What is wizard setup and how can I find polygons in the UV? Thanks!
Hi Yurio, not sure which C4D version you have. But in this tutorial I explained about the wizard setup using R21. Another tip you can do to make it more round is create “round edges” on the texture and you can also use Gaussian blur in photoshop to make the edges and bevels smoother. Hope that helps! Cheers!
@@Nicksdesignspace Many thanks to you! You are great! If you want - write me in Telegram @yuriosav and i will show my realistic renders :)
i don't have optimal mapping showing as an option in my c4d? any ideas why?
Not sure. Are you still having issues with it?
@@Nicksdesignspace Ya I'm going to create a new project and re-go through the tutorial. I'm using S23 version of c4d I wouldn't think that would make a difference though..
I’m currently using S23 now too. At the time of that recording I was using R21. If all fails you can reach me on my IG @Nick.Creates and I’ll help you out. Hope you it works out!
Same, so many different windows and options that I don't have. C4D always moving things and changing - nightmare! Giving up for now, I don't have that Layers or Attributes stuff in UV mapping, I have some other windows. Will come back another day and try again when I'm less frustrated lol Actually I found another video for UV unwrapping a different way which worked - search for UV Unwrap Cereal Box and follow that dudes tutorial for the UV unwrapping.
@Nick Kyriazopoulos press ctrl+shift+Z for undo camera movement :)
Learning something new every day! Thank you! :)
File - Save project witch Assets.. Will save with correct binding and transfer all textures as needed ... thanks for the gumroad file! Good luck
Hey, thanks for your feedback. Will do that in the next project. What sucks about gumroad because I'm using a free version I can only upload below 25mb so it's hard to package everything. Hope you understand!
