No, Jesus (Isa) in the Bible did not teach people to pray to Mary (his mother). According to the New Testament, Jesus taught people to pray directly to God (the Father). In Christianity, prayer is typically directed to God, through Jesus. The New Testament does not contain any teachings from Jesus that advocate praying to Mary or any other individual. In certain Christian traditions, especially in Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity, Mary is venerated, and some prayers, like the Hail Mary, ask for her intercession. However, this practice developed later and is not something explicitly taught by Jesus in the scriptures. In Islam, prayer (Salah) is directed to God (Allah) alone, and neither Jesus nor Mary are prayed to.

In Islam, the prophet who is believed to have received the revelation known as the Injil (Gospel) is Prophet Isa (Jesus), not a prophet who received the Bible (as commonly understood in Christianity). The Injil is mentioned in the Quran as a divine scripture revealed to Jesus, but Muslims believe that the original message has been altered or lost over time. The Bible, as known in Christianity today, consists of both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and it is not considered the exact scripture revealed to Prophet Jesus in Islamic teachings. Islam recognizes the Torah (Tawrat), Psalms (Zabur), and Injil as earlier revelations given to prophets like Moses (Musa), David (Dawud), and Jesus (Isa), but it views the Quran as the final and unaltered word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.

The Quran allows Muslim men to marry up to four wives under specific conditions, but only if they can treat all of them equally and justly. The relevant verse is found in Surah An-Nisa (4:3): “... then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one ...” The guidance emphasizes justice and fairness. If a man cannot ensure equal treatment, he is encouraged to marry only one wife. Additionally, many Muslim men choose to have only one wife, and monogamy is the most common practice. So, polygamy is allowed, but it is not mandatory or recommended if fairness cannot be maintained.
