The goblin made the sword and imbued it specifically with magic to appear to griffindoors but then said the sword was not only not godrick's, but it was goblins all along and even if he had given it to godrick it was only a loan... THEN WHY IMBUE IT WITH MAGIC TO APPEAR TO WORTHY GRIFFINDOORS AFTER GODRICK DIES??? The sword knows who it belongs to. That's why it disappears from goblin hands and appears to griffindoors
