Why is your wire cut? Is that necessary? I'm 73 and putting mine on myself. Someone keeps stealing my hubcaps and they had five screws on each one. I'm trying the snap on today.

I think I'm having the same issue with mine. It will light but after it is on for a while the fire goes off and the pilot is out. I'm going to try the physical cleaning first, and see what I get out of it.

Yup, I had the exact same issue with my 82 Firebird Trans Am. Your outer O ring looks in better shape than mine, mine was kind of flat on the outside. but I replaced both the outer and inner seel and it fixed the issue very nicely.

Hi Mark, a few questions if you don't mind: 1)The interior view of your final install shows the plastic plate on the interior as well as something that looks like a muffler on the vent line (another vent door perhaps?) What is the plate doing for the whole install? 2) Any idea what the CFM on the bathroom fan was? I considered using this style vent cover for a bath fan but was concerned that it wouldn't be strong enough to hold the door open; as opposed to a dryer. 3) Lastly, the maker recommends putting the metal cylinder over the vent line instead of inside it. Were you able to do this with your install?

Might be worth one or two of those solar kits off Amazon depending on where you live.

I made the mistake of removing wallpaper from kitchen walls of a home built in the 80's & it was a mess! Had to call in "professionals"🙄 & a year after, the paint was crackling! So I hired another professional to paint over the wallpaper in the bathroom & it still looks great!!!

Mines came with no cut in the wire .so should i cut it ? Because im having a hard time pushing the whole cap inside .when I'm trying to do the last hit to be completely in .i hit it and the opposite side comes back out .

Thank you so much for your helpful video! I had been having this same problem with a very similar fireplace in the house we bought. The fireplace was very dirty when we moved in so I used a shop vac to help clean it, used a wire brush, and used a can of air as well, but was still having issues. Then I tried your brake cleaner trick, and I have a fire going for a couple hours now! Who would of thought of using brake cleaner for a fireplace?!? Amazing! Thanks again!
