    How do you decide if you do tent stitch or the normal X stitch? Cause like if I did tent stitch on my 16 count I feel like a ton of space would be white? Do you do tent stitch on a higher count or do you do it for any count?

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 2 дні тому

      Hi! I do cross stitch with three strands for 14 count and lower, x with 2 strands for 16 and 18 count, // for 22 and higher count. I checked three and four strands tent stitch for 18 count and don’t like the feeling of it. But it can be an option as well 🤗

    Hola!! Gracias por compartir, una pregunta, bueno otra más, porque siempre te pregunto 😅. ¿Las tenazas con las que sujetas el marco, de color azul, donde las puedo comprar? ¿para que se utilizan? Lo pregunto porque una tenaza no es una herramienta de bordado 😂😂. Un abrazo gigante y muchisimas gracias. Tus vídeos para mi han sido una ayuda importantisima. Hola Victoria! Siempre me alegra ver tus comentarios 🤗🥰 Sobre estos alicates que uso para sujetar mis marcos y aros, inicialmente se llamaban "abrazaderas de mano" y los tomé de mi esposo. Es una herramienta de reparación que parece ser muy útil para coser. Compramos el nuestro en Amazon. Puedes consultar este enlace para ver los detalles principales y buscar en las tiendas cercanas. Sadly as I listen I heard to often "I do not know what this does" - why would you want to do a tutorial if you cannot explain EVERY aspect of the app.??????

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 5 днів тому

      Oh, sorry for misunderstanding. It is not a tutorial. It is a user experience about this app. I showed how I use it and most used features of it. I agree that when I made this video I did not remember some features that I did not use for some time. If you are interested in them, I can explain them now For example, number “pattern key” change then numbers on the main display of stitched colours. For example, you can stitch by dmc number such as 310, 3371 or by pallet number such as 1,2,3 etc

  • @janniestanley
    @janniestanley 5 днів тому

    Another excellent way to show us how to get started on a full coverage project. But I do wonder…why do you not secure that last thread? The one you snip at the end of using that thread? And how do you draw such straight lines when gridding your fabric? I’d need lots of help with that for sure.

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 5 днів тому

      Hi! Regarding grid, sometimes my hand goes away from the straight line. But if I don’t rush usually it is straight, because I go between two strands of the fabric. It is like a small hollow for a pen. Regarding securing the thread, I do it every time. At the start and at the end. However, I don’t rotate my frame, I always do it on the front side. It gives better view for the frontside, as far as there are no lumps like it might happen on backside securing You can find several videos about anchors in this playlist ua-cam.com/play/PL0Br0oZrnL736WLOV6KMNKVES6R7stP7S.html&si=VTaYVdYiLAU-Xkmv

    • @janniestanley
      @janniestanley 5 днів тому

      I went back to look at some of your videos again. Say that you’re stitching 10 stitches with black floss. You come to the end of it. I see you snip that last piece from the top of your project. I’ve been trying this. But I notice that 10th stitch is not secured on the back. It could easily be pulled out. There are no stitches over it. I have been having to flip my project over to pull that last thread under other threads to secure it with what we used to call a doo lolly. I actually can’t find the ending of your threads explained in the video. I just see you come to the top and snip it. Maybe I’ll catch on in another of your videos sometime. I would love to figure that out as it would speed me up a little. I’m the slowest stitcher probably on the planet🤣

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 5 днів тому

      @janniestanley oh, I have explained it in this video “Anchor a Thread for Cross and Half Stitch. Different Canvas” ua-cam.com/video/dj-84OwYM5s/v-deo.html Hope it helps 🤗 You are right, I don’t flip the fabric, but I always secure the thread. Sometimes it might not be visible on “stitch with me” videos due to editing. But I do my best to add some videos explaining what I know and use to make my stitching faster and more enjoyable 🤗🪡🧵

    Looooove all your work Olesya! You made me start stitching with those videos ❤ (Sea Waves) I abolutely love the crinkling sound of your master set floss (and other floss set)… I find it very hypnotizing 😂. Watching you choose and organize your floss is very interesting; you are the only flosstuber I know that does that. Keep it up I love it ! 🤗❤

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 7 днів тому

      Thank you! That’s great that we now stitch together! That’s interesting to know that you like crinkling sound. I have heard several times that bags’ sounds are super annoying and was worried that it might be the case for my organizers as well. This floss organization system that I have right now I invented by myself. Was going through several iterations before I found this one. Probably, that’s why nobody else shows it 🤗🤔 Thank you for your kind words! It gives me energy for keep it going and try new ideas! 🤗🥰😘😘😘😘 Happy stitching and have a wonderful time 😘🧵🪡

    • @thecolortale4753
      @thecolortale4753 7 днів тому

      @ Well your organizer seemed like a genius idea : easy, cheap and reusable. So much so that I made a master set for myself, just like yours. Works great so far and no need to « kit up » all projects ☺️. Btw, I have heard another flosstuber saying that she also love the sound of your organizers 😉 (but of course I don’t remember her name 😂)

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 6 днів тому

      @thecolortale4753 oh, thank you! I hope I will not become conceited after your kind words 🤗😂 What initially pushed me to change my organizers - one for each project, that at some point I wanted to check one new pattern and found it is very annoying to sort through all the projects looking for a couple colours. and I understood that floss become fluffy and looking old if I have all of them prepared in a braid for the whole project. And now, for some reason, my stitching speed is higher without loosing in satisfaction and level of enjoyment 🤗 If you like different stitching sounds I have another UA-cam channel where I have more experiments in my videos that you might like as well 🤗 ua-cam.com/users/shorts84FURZqegDI?si=8yzZhiFYp1iV18tD

    Thank you for showing us this. I have adopted your method and have created a smaller floss keeper, but I like the idea of one big one for all projects. One question, when creating this one with all the colors, how did you join all the sheets up with the yellow wool , through the paper and the plastic below? or just through the paper? If you can show me photo, I would greatly appreciate it because it looks like the perfect system. Thanks again for showing us all your wonderful stitching.

      In my case I have plastic bags a little bit lower these holes. I just found a good place on my cards where two of them are overlapping and I can make a hole easily. For this particular organizer I did not make these holes on plastic, but it still does not move. If you have the bags this way so you can punch it all together with the paper it would be perfect! For sure I can send some photos to you if you write me in instagram instagram.com/olesya_stitches?igsh=MWgzYmt2OGg2c3gxaQ%3D%3D&

    I’ve been watching your videos all morning. Thx so very much for taking the time to explain things in such great detail! After what I’ve seen, you are the expert for sure! I have not done full coverage yet. I am a monogamous stitcher for the most part. But I am toying with starting a full coverage. If so I’ll have to have a smaller project to jump to when the large one gets to me 😊 I think your floss organizer is ingenious! A lot of prep work! But the value of that prep work is obvious. I’d like to see you actually do some gridding in one of your videos. Maybe you already have shown that. I just haven’t seen that one yet. Thx again for all your time and work constructing this video. Amazing! I look forward to more tutorials or videos such as this one.😊

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 9 днів тому

      Hi Jannie! I am glad you find my videos helpful! I have several videos regarding gridding. In some of them I explain it. In some just show on practice. Don’t worry about full coverage design that it might be too complicated. If you know how to make a cross stitch, you should be fine. The only difference is the level of patience. However, for me it is not a question. I would need more patience to finish 30k project more than 200k 😂 And I guess I know why it works this way. Full coverage designs are usually much more real and I feel like I am a master. I make my own masterpiece 🤗 This small designs there is no such feeling unfortunately 🤗 I am not sure regarding starting from small full coverage design. I would recommend to start from that one which you like the most. Even if it is a big one. In such case you might not feel overwhelmed with a project that you not felt in love with. However, in my shop you might find different sizes projects. For example, Hobbiton or Chinese dragon that I stitch they are relatively in small size. morelittlestitches.etsy.com

      Thank you! I like this project a lot! It is so calming! I don’t consider it as work though. For me, it is more like enjoyment in every stitch 🤗 ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a physical and psychological experience that combines pleasurable and relaxing sensations in response to specific stimuli. In my case I mark videos as ASMR that contain different sounds of stitching which meant to be relaxing. On some ASMR related channels you might find soft talks, whisper, music and such.

    I've been doing a 50/50 method where I park some and cross country others if there's big blocks of it because I didn't know how to do the proper method and this has been soooo helpful! Oh, interesting! I haven’t heard about “lazy ninjas” approach even if might use it 🤔. It is so interesting to learn something new. Could you tell me please a little bit what is that about? Happy that my video gave you some ideas for your stitching 🧵🪡🤗😘

      @StitchingMasterpieces I'm sorry I bet my comment makes no sense! I actually posted this under a different video about royal rows on xstitch and chill's channel, it must not have loaded in time as i watched your video next 😅🙈 ninja stitch is how she referred to confetti and a lazy ninja was when there was one single stitch in an area and you use a sneaky really close other colour used in that area to fill it in 🫣 I do actually love this video though! I've saved it for later because I really want to give it a go. I'm going to do a unconventional x stitch pattern soon and I had no clue how I was going to organise that many colours in one project and I think you've given me my answer! I can't wait to try it out ❤❤

      @StitchingMasterpieces 10 днів тому

      @Colipopss oh, interesting! I should watch that video as well! I usually remove such confetti stitches in patterns itself. But do it while stitching is much harder for me 🤗 But definitely makes sense for some project! Thank you for sharing! You are right, good flood organization helps a lot to stitch big projects. And gives more time for stitching itself 🤗 Happy stitching! 🧵🪡😘😘😘

    Hi, Your hobbit pattern is great seeing the starting stitches. Dont you make mistakes by starting like that? Lovely video about explanation the WIPs 🙋🏼‍♀️👍🏻❤️🫶🏻

      @StitchingMasterpieces 15 днів тому

      Surprisingly I did not have mistakes when I stitched all over the fabric. I noticed that when I see a grid it is much easier for me to navigate. And when I stitched with way I was counting with extra caution to not make mistakes. Otherwise it would be too much of the pain to remove all the wrong stitches 🙀🤗

      @StitchingMasterpieces yes True i do the count also with caution, dont like to take away the floss either 😏

    I agree with you about working too far ahead. I don't do that because I know I will mess up. Even with some grid lines I still stitch areas close together.

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 16 днів тому

      Right! It is better to cut a thread than undo all the work or just spend hours on looking for a right spot to stitch. And one second of dreaming and you are lost again 🙀😂

    Hello, you are doing tent stitch? And what count is this and is this 5 by 5 squares?.

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 17 днів тому

      Hi! You are absolutely right, this project I stitch with tent stitch. It is Goblen net 25ct. I use three types of grid: 1. 5x5 with pink ink 2.10x10 with blue ink 3. 20x50 with the purple one. It helps a lot to find a right spot to stitch without an extra counting.

    • @yvonnevigil7489
      @yvonnevigil7489 17 днів тому

      @StitchingMasterpieces Omg had no idea of all the ink colors you use. Thought of another question what do you call your type of stitching. Not cross country or typewriter or diagonal?. Do you ever show your backs of projects and do you feel you waste alot of thead jumping all over. That's it🤭

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 16 днів тому

      In this playlist I explained my approach and showed several times the backside of the projects ua-cam.com/play/PL0Br0oZrnL736WLOV6KMNKVES6R7stP7S.html&si=1wNxqBsFu6J_OEDG I do cross country but only in the area 20x50. It seems to be much faster stitching compare to other methods. Regarding extra thread on the back I counted how much it costs to have long runs on the back. It seems to be less a couple cents per day. But securing and cutting the thread takes about extra 10-15 mins of stitching. So, I do what at the moment feels better do not worry to much about extra cost 🤗

    Love this! I don't think I could ever do something with this many colors but knowing this video is out there and you show how to set it up gives me up to possibly tackle a HAED

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 17 днів тому

      Oh, go for it and make your dream come true! I don’t stitch HAED because I truly love more complicated projects and enjoy stitching with blends. They give realistic view to a picture. And I don’t use all the colours in one project. Usually it is 60-200 colours per one design. But as far as I have many projects started, it is very convenient to have one organizer for all of them. It saves time and floss is less fluffy at the end of a project.

      @StitchingMasterpieces very true. I have so many things I want to stitch i just don't have the time or space. Plus my cats love to chew on plastic, so I have to put all my stuff in totes when I'm done for the day. ❤

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 16 днів тому

      Oh, yes, it would be very frustrating if your cat feels bad because of too much of plastic in his stomach 🙀 In such case I would move everything from his paws as far as possible 🫣 Do you like to stitch medium size projects?

    Have you tried braiding them too?

    • @StitchingMasterpieces
      @StitchingMasterpieces 17 днів тому

      Hi! My very first organizers were with braiding. It helps a little bit against tangling, but still some stubborn threads were going out with making knots. Can’t say it is a bad idea, but loose floss works for me better 🤗
