Mu raamatu peatükk 3:6 lugemine. KONTEKST: Kaljulinn on kivist asula kõrgel mere ääres, mis saanud koduks tiivulistele, kes inimeste seas seal elamas kui seletamatu nähtus. I have to agree. Bellara and Emmrich are definitely the best of the companions. I’ve wanted to romance Harding since Inquisition (heck, my first Inquisitor did romance her), but in this game I have to go with Bellara. She’s awkward but because she’s shy, not because she thinks she’s cool and I’ll take awkward and shy over confident and cringe any day.
Side note on the Dalish, we really should have had Dalish elves, not Antaam, joining the gods. It would’ve made the entire story hit harder and make a lot more sense than “bad guys are people in power who want more power.” Also, the Tevinter sl@ve empire was completely brushed aside and the Venatori blamed for everything. They could’ve added so much more nuance, but they didn’t…
“Dragon Age for kids” encapsulates everything perfectly. Also, DA:O (my favorite DA game) took six years to develop, and DA:V took four years. I’m unsure if more time was needed or what happened, but they definitely did a horrible job with DA:V.
Appreciated! I've also seen reports that Veilguard took 8 or even 10 years due to having to restart the project multiple times. And it still blows my mind that DA2 was made in one year and half.
The video is popping off! Valid criticism but for me DAV along with Dragons Dogma 2 were the only 2 new games i enjoyed enough to finish this year. But then again in both games what got me immersed was a good character creator along with lots of head canon 😂
Yeah, same for me with finishing Veilguard. But I think this rather shows how 2024 was not a great year for RPGs. Although I did enjoy Metaphor:ReFantazio but haven't finished it.
Veilguard companions ranked? My chill level just dropped to zero because this list has me overthinking every choice. 🧠🎮
Not to worry, just trust ur gut! Imma pray you get ur chill back ASAP 🙏
The companions needed to be in a better game. Most have a decent foundation from a writing standpoint, but the lighter tone robs their potential.
Indeed! It's hard to take the world-ending events seriously when even your companions don't act like it.
As someone who did like the game, you made a lot of good points because there were a lot of things I found lacking in the Veilguard. I've likened Veilguard as Dragon Age: The Saturday Morning Cartoon. And I went in with very low expectations from what I could understand of the chaotic development cycle. There were so many missed opportunities and so many odd decisions made when it regards the worldbuilding. You have Dalish elves now realising that a core foundation of their culture is built upon ancient tyrants- I know there's a world in peril, but I would expect some manner of an identity crisis from Davrin and Bellara- or a bunch of elves wanting to rip off their vallaslin, or are in complete denial. You have the Crows who have a history of enslaving orphans to become assassins like Zevran-- where's their ruthlessness? I see Treviso, and the Cantorini Diamond, and think: "... nifty school for assassins. Okay." It's all... safe. The companions are fine enough, but there are a lot of could-have-beens for their development and story. So yeah, I still liked it despite its faults, but like you said, there's just a lot with this game that still needed improvement to measure up to the previous three.
I completely agree with you. It felt like they wanted to simplify everything… everywhere… and retcon as much lore as they could while doing it
Well said! I have to admit that when I was recently editing this vid, I did feel great joy when recalling some of the companions and moments (like Emmrich and Bellara). But I also couldn't forget my struggles with the weak gameplay and writing from when I played the game during launch. So I'm glad the project did not end up in limbo but also sad that the game couldn't live up to it's potential.
@mistermarkham101 For me, Lucanis being possessed by a demon despite not being a mage, and the masses of elves following Solas post Trespasser, but they were nowhere to be found, were glaring examples of some retcons... if missed out on any explanations for them.
@@Kris-Apollonides Yeah, Emmrich and Bellara were among the better written companions. I was so close to romancing Emmrich, and even though the villain in his arc is widely acknowledged to be Disney-esque, it was at least a fun storyline. And Bellara was a companion I had more than others, alongside Davrin and Emmrich. I enjoyed the game enough to want to see it through to the end, at least. But for a time, I thought we would *never* see a Dragon Age 4, and I had made peace with that. So seeing this conclusion was at least something. But like you said: it had potential to stand on its own alongside the previous Dragon Age games, but it's just... unfortunate it couldn't because of so many factors that hindered its development. Still, that it managed to be released at this level of polish despite its chaotic executive meddling and whatnot, I would think of it as a success with my expectations adjusted.
Voice acting sounds pretty bad as well tbf
It has its moments but with such misguided writing I can't blame the VO tho. 🔊
@@Kris-Apollonides The actors did the best they could with what they were given. You can only make so many “I hate sand…” quality lines sound remotely believable
@@mistermarkham101 Totally. DA has always had some comedy in it but The Veilguard goes so overboard with its light-hearted tone that the setting and story start to suffer for it.
I think you had valid points about the characters, very well explained 🙌 my favourite part was the dancing though 🕺 EPIC moves! Effects were also on point 🤩
Praise! I dedicate this Birdman Shuffle to all my Antivan Crow bros 🐦
Dudes, was I too harsh or too soft?? I hate bashing on games but this one felt personal. 🧐
I think you were too soft just with your score of 55%. 55% would imply the game is still above average, where for me it was pretty far below average. The best parts of the game for me were the hair and Hans Zimmer's theme. I would have dropped PC, NPC, World, and Explore to 1. Story would go to 1 because the last 30 minutes of exposition from Solas doesn't undo the hours upon hours of nothing before the ending, and the "secret ending" where it is revealed the illuminati is responsible for everything that has happened so far in Thedas could retroactively make people dislike the series as a whole. Combat also would be 2 for me. You did say at the beginning that you didn't think Veilguard was a bad game, so from that perspective I fully get your scores, I just clearly had a worse time with it than you
I liked this video for the most part but please keep in mind most people use they/them regarding Taash. But I do agree even as a genderfluid person Taash was a poor example of representation. I did not like their bratty twenty something attitude at all. And them saying "nobody likes to be a woman" very insulting with internalized misogyny undertones. It's as if a terf was left in charge of writing Taash's character because that line will only fuel more hatetred to the lgbtq+ community.
Solid rating. I personally loved the style and UI and everything visual, but yeah it was so tedious to play
I can't help but feel we were robbed of a true sequel. RIP Dreadwolf
Here for the dance act ❤
Summon the dance legions! ⚔
100% agree with everything youve said! i was honestly pleasantly surprised when i saw it!
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one! 👴
Praise the sun
May you walk in light, brotha! 🌞
Falls well within the same opinion as mine, the story was very traditional and didn't offer any surprises. However it was still enjoyable, especially whenever Helm Hammerhand was on the screen. He was the highlight of the whole story. Seeing him being badass like Godfrey from Elden Ring was well worth the ticket price. 7.5/10 would watch again.
Truth! I should have mentioned Helm in the video actually. That man was a beast to be reckoned with! 💪
Still haven’t dipped my toes into Season 2, but Sunshine Score’s ranking has me this close to grabbing my cloak and diving in. 🧙♂📺
I implore you to continue the journey! SAURON HYPE

loving the vibes 🕺🔥
one love to vibe them all 💍
I agree with the outro part
“A light like the glint of water on dewy grass flashed from under her feet as she danced.” - T-man, Fellowship of the Ring
It was pretty wild. Alien CGI monkeys and turning the Colosseum into sea world. Ridley Scott heard people call Napoleon boring so he turned it up a notch.
And the amped up action compared to Napoleon is appreciated but it's a damn shame they lost a lot of substance in the process. 🐵
Strong agree with your ranking, a "funnecessary sequel" with lots of nostalgia for the original. Monkeys had me rattled
Indeed! I feel they fixated too much on the first movie's legacy, instead of making this a proper movie on its own. The result feels too much like a spin-off.
Awesome overview of the characters! Loving the end as well🔥🕺
I dont know whats better, the tier list or the outro ❤ 🕺🕺
Who is your favorite? 👁
Adar! I loved how the ring showed his original form. RIP
Celembrimbor was incredible. The horror in his eyes when he realises
definitely Sauron ✌ #sauronhypeforsure

Geppetto doesn't have children other than Pinocchio, so he would classify as a DILF. Unless Pinocchio has fathered a child which is also unlikely.
let him cook!

Fenris is a companion that really stuck with me. He is initially a d'ckhead with an over-top hatred of magic. That's probably why half of DA players kick him to the curb straight away. But the interesting thing with this guy is what happens when you invest a little patience. You learn that he's a dumpster fire because he has just escaped abusive slavery and is living on cortisol, in constant fear of recapture, and he has no idea what to do with himself outside of slavery. If Hawke actually bothers to get closer, Fenris trusts Hawke, and even defends apostate mages at Hawkes side, which is completely against everything that defined him. I would say Fenris was one of the most rewarding companions.
Well said! I did feel for him, really. I like to imagine he eventually got away from his tragic past, and was able to shape a new purpose for himself. (I know that in the novels his adventures continue under the name Blue Wraith but I haven't read them.)
My top 5 are leliana, Isabella, sera, those are who I romanced and the other two are cole and varric because they are really good and cole is not a boy with a spirit in him he is a spirit himself know what you are talking about
Shale is female, fyi
Oh indeed she was once. I had totally forgotten, thanks!
