This channel features roller coaster experiences captured by my friends and traveling companions over many years. While I was typically involved with photography my enthusiastic coaster friends like, Ron, Ian, Matt, Wayne and Stephen were often video taping. With sincere thanks to them (and their permission) I can share these videos. Mostly starting from 1990 on VHS, these videos were recorded long before HD, 4K, smart phones etc..and we're converting the videos to an internet format for historical purposes and entertainment. I hope you enjoy them. Please be patient I expect more content. If you have a video or two and you want featured here for its historical value.. Please advise
I don't always know who took the videos and under what arrangements. Filming on rides can be dangerous and may require equipment and permission to "film". With that If you are a park representative and see a video you disapprove of please email directly. www.loopyguy.com/contact

Journey to Atlantis POV at SeaWorld Orlando 2022
I live right next door to ghost town...wish someone would reopen it someday.
What a magical place that was. There are still Camp Snoopy’s out there but none like Mall of America, it was unique. The North Woods feel, the fact that it was more than just children’s rides…it was a really special place. I spent many days of my child hood running around that place… I was at Nickelodeon universe this past weekend and it’s great, but nothing will ever match the charm of Camp Snoopy. I hold out hope that one day, snoopy will make his triumphant return back to MOA 😂
Paris after Dark anyone?
Definitely the best wooden rollercoaster ever made. Through the years the coasters have been upgraded/perfected, but still won't come anywhere close to being as good as Mr Twister.
I used to take .my niece when she was little on the jack rabbit . The wildcat was way to much for her but the rabbit was perfect. Nice gentle ride.we would ride it over and over. It was so much fun.
So many of the cool rides back then are gone now
It’s so cool you can see a white sidewinder in the background. This was before my time so it is insane to think how old that coaster is.
If you go to 0:30, the drop is very different from 1989-1993 era. Why did they remove it?
Why like this???I miss you and love you with all my heart
Amazing how I hear that more as years pass. This is why I document.. For history not for money for fame.
i wasn’t even alive yet so this footage is so cool!
Nostalgia goes a long way. One day this version will be missed too.
I truly miss the original Monster Plantation. The “improved” version today just doesn’t feel as unique and far less interesting.
The ride looks so calm to be called ghostrain
I used to always black out on the second loop for a few seconds
Great ride! Astroworld only had it for a short time, but I got a good amount of rides on it
This was actually opening day of 1998
I rode this back in the Sixties, maybe even the late Fifties. God, what a thrill...
Black Mold Plantation
Greetings! May I use this footage in a video I'm making about the history of this ride? I will give full credit to your channel.
Awesome idea!!! My dad loves this as a boy
With credit use any video. (Please credit www.loopyguy.com)
No problem at all.
What's the song name??
I just know it as the Euro Sat Theme song. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DPE-zgQSQ1OA&ved=2ahUKEwj8p66e0KeIAxUiLtAFHbJ5DOMQwqsBegQIERAF&usg=AOvVaw2ZaEBnRvs55noUMusj5nKB
24 years and still legit
This is the one i remember
Love this! BTW @3:18 Those people aren't screaming because of fear but because Iron Wolf hurt so darn much! 😂😂
It's was B&M's first standup; so it was still notable for its era.
@@robertnagy2170 Yeah I get that, and I'm glad to have ridden it, but it was pretty uncomfortable. I hope I get to ride the modern-day equivalent Pipeline someday.
I was 10 in 1999. Went on Raging Bull for the first time on a cool windy September day. Got stuck 3/4th of the way of the lift hill for 20 minutes. Then later that same day got stuck for 20 minutes on the lift hill for Shockwave, though that was right at the bottom of the lift hill lol.
I’m happy they stopped with the nasty green track color
👍Great classic footage. Wish you would have recorded that now defunct tunnel and awesome station.
Ace! Great POV!
This is pure distilled 120 proof 'good ol days'. I had so much wholesome dangerous fun on that thing way back when. These days you be arrested for felony abuse to even let your child see this video.
2024!!! Thank God for this footage. Great memories!
That was a fun place
Yeah. The dark ride was especially a loss. Someone made money on selling the park. the capitalist way I guess. The good news is it gave more customers to family kingdom which would be a greater loss if closed.
1999.
Zonga
How do you get a copyright claim from a company that no longer exists
The copyright claim was due to the music used, not the manufacturer. :)
The Knoebels Twister is now the same age as Mr. Twister was when this was filmed.
Thanks for the memories!!! Loved that place.
This was the first roller coaster I ever rode as a kid in 1962 .... The last time I wrote it was a 1983 just before they tore it down. I happen to be visiting New Orleans and made a special trip The Pontchartrain Beach just to ride the roller coaster.
I went on this sometime in 2015 Went back for 4th of July this year , not open and rotting away. Lakeside in general isn’t being kept up with and it shows . I feel like they’re just squeezing the last bit of profit because they’re going to sell it. I have no clue if that’s the case , it’s just a feeling.
i went 3 days ago and i had a chance to talk with the owner for 1 cyclone is not rotting away when i was there i saw like 10 people working on the ride. For 2 Lakeside is not being sold at least not for a long long while. For 3 the owners are trying there hardest to get everything up and running and looking good again
That shockwave / iron wolf footage 😢
It was not the biggest or best, but you were definitely going for a ride on this one. Towards the late 90's, we were never sure if we'd make it back in one piece
Hello
I bet cedar fair could get the licence to theme it back to waynes world.
I loved seeing raging bull from the parking lot before the waterpark was there. The trims are hilarious though like how do you engineer and build this giant ride and you design it to ... go over the AIRTIME HILL "too fast" Rip shockwave
Iron wolf underrated. Had that great spaghetti bowl ending with my first s curve. Great whip and air on the direction change. That parks missing an s bend. Needs a new one somewhere
This was my first coaster when it was Circus World
the date arrangement confused me but then i heard the accent and it made sense lol. and damn how cameras from back then just dont hold up anymore and for only 20 years old they look like they were filmed in the damn 60s. crazy to realize we have come that far that fast in video technology.
I'm more of the photographer (see loopyugy.com) it's nice my friends and travelling companions are there to help me support history. Though now everybody seems to do it - can't turn back the clock.
Yeah, it was a good era, coasters were changing as they always do I guess. I went in 1996 and 2005, one of my best friends allowed me to share this video.
my first ever visit to Six Flags Great America was definitely around this time. My poor father was so annoyed with me because i was scared to go on anything! I just remember going on things like Triple play, Whizzer, the Sky Whirl, a bunch of the log flume rides, and eating fries with my mom haha 25 years later, I look forward to going back here all the time to go on all the coasters and thrill rides
Greetings! May I use this footage in a video I'm making about roller coasters in crazy places? I will give your channel full credit.
I crashed my eyes out on that thing in approximately 1984. Thanks for the video !
