I was Leary at first when I first got wind it was being rebooted. However. I was thoroughly impressed after seeing the trailer and I anticipate being highly entertained when I see it next year. Great review bud!

This show has so many things going against it, but it persevered through awesome writing and character performances. At first I was kinda afraid they would go the woke route considering the sexuality of Teen( Which the entire world probably knows is Billy Maximoff) but I am glad he is his character first before his gender. I definitely had low expectations for this show, but it blew me away with the writing. Episode 7 was the saving grace, it saved episode 3 and 4 and made them worth the watch.

the death of Thordak - the way they translated Liam's HDYWTDT of "I hear the voice of my mother in the morning" with Elaina's actual words - yeah, Liam's voice as he lashes out against this creature that killed his character's mother was so well done, especially with the real events that he was processing during the game. Sam explaining why they couldn't go with A Bard's Lament this season without a guarantee of a season 4 - yeah, I get that. They did leave it in a really good place to accomplish what they needed to. We learned that the reason Levar Burton voiced the undead Thordak with Cree Summer is that it was the request of Lance Reddick's widow.

they've made so many changes from the original campaign that it's a surprise even for longtime Critters. I'm not a huge fan of Calamity but Luis Carazo kills is as Zerxus here. the next batch has most reactors in tears and with pretty good reason. the team has been turning up the emotional screws.

You're right, they have never told us the origins of either Megatron, or Optimus in this depth. At least as far as movies, tv shows go. But their origin story was told multiple times, extensively. Tf one writers actually showed a tremendous amount of respect to the alrady existing TF lore, and they built their own story from it. :) And this whole movie is an amalgamation of lore elements/story arcs taken from several different TF continuity. Like Megatron's D-16 low class miner origin came from the IDW comics, just like the 'class/caste' system. Orion, D-16/Megatron being sworn brothers/best friends working together to topple a false prime, and his opressive, corrupt government was taken from the Aligned continuity, just like Starscream's TF One's backstory (Megatron taking Starscream's men after beating him to scrap happened in the War for Cybertron games). G1 also influenced this film in pretty significant ways, like cogless bots unable to transform during the Quintesson rule, the Quintessons, Orion being a low class manual labourer (he was a dock worker in the G 1 series), Megatron killing Orion before he was rebuilt as Optimus Prime to house the Matrix, Optimus's energy axe at the end fight etc. Sentinel is reminiscent of TFA's interpretation of the character (blue/gold, big chin, narcissistic asshole) and he had a very similar weapon Sentinel used in the Baymovies. :) Orion being a history nerd, spending his time in the Archives is a clever nod to TFP, just like the music (TF One, and TFP has the same composer, and he put elements/musical themes from TFP into this movie

why does cgi green screening look so bad? Her in the house with the animals and dwarfs around her, to me its giving girl in a room alone. But really snow white has and always been about the Queen and shes looking like the reason to watch the movie 😁

Great summary & review. It’s a really solid movie, even for someone who’s not the biggest TF fan. But like you, hoping they’ll be a sequel that will explore these robot relationships more.

In the campaign they went to Hell for a different reason - they went to the City of Brass in the Fire Plane for a vestige, but I feel they are making some very interesting changes. Sam suggested 5 seasons to tell the full story. The Chroma Conclave took them to episode 84, leaving 30 episodes to cover (and three one shots to put into a movie to wrap it all up?)

Shadow is not a clone of Sonic, he was created by Gerald Robotnic to save his niece Maria. He was inspired by ancient murals prophesying an ultimate lifeform reassembling an hedgehog I think.

I've been a Who fan since the 70's and I also love this latest regeneration of him. The writing and actors have been perfect this season and am looking forward to many more seasons with this team.
