"Protect her children." Seriously!? Sethe is an uneducated, sick, vengeful, and demented woman- due to being severely, horrifically abused. But she's a monster, and she knew it. Would the child rather die a violent death at the hands of their own mother? Did Beloved, whom she maimed physically and psychologically for her entire life? How about the boys who never spoke to her ever again, hating her, as they should!! Makes me sick.

This might be off topic, but everyone needs to hear this. Jesus Loves You. Amen. I pray if you are not saved, that you are saved. That you believe. That you believe that Jesus Christ (God's only son) died on the cross for our sins, so that whoever believes in him (as Our Lord And Savior) shall not perish, but have eternal life (paraphrasing John 3:16. Join us. Join me. Join God. Believe, and be saved, so that you might be in heaven with Our Lord when your time comes, and that I might see you in heaven. God loves you. Jesus loves you. I love you as a brother or sister in Christ. I pray we all grow closer to Our Lord. God bless and have a good day

I like how in certain countries they say Corruption is "grease". I doesn't mix with other liquids, it's fatty and leads to obesity, doesn't mix with water, and distinct from oil as by product or oil rejects, and scum off the top, not creme, and many countries esp. china or others under the radar when we open up presidential books - does shed light into the fluid movement of the grease, the level of dependency, even domestic, and yet gireum is something that greases the joints, keeps the engine running. It's there, and oil changes are very NECESSARY ever 3k miles or so, all GREASE. If you stop it, it's stopping the engine and you have to put something in. For a complete oil change, you need to DRAIN EVERYTHING, and put new CLEAN OIL IN. you can make bonafide out of grease. So many ways instead of loading the grease further. But on the bandwagon, or cows herding, or coerced system - how hard is it to clean the greasy oil of Corruption when so many put in, it's in billions of $ USD, containers, marked to value exchange, etc., and keep it clean. Who starts it, and how do you stop it and clean it. I love this novel novella. The ending is a wholly different system, no longer natives as issue carriers to extend the lines of the countries, women being sent, some sense of rom com with it while also the tragedy. Although it wasn't the actual or the person of Corruption, it brought a wholly different ending. This person methodical, between the races, playing in and out of, yet so bound by this one native woman he can't shake. Hm... Orwell? in real life. Who knows. But it makes you think through on the corruption closely unlike the barbarism of Heart of Darkness where this lead person being leeched by managers the Dutch later from 5 camps in the anthology multiplying with the natives so quickly to India now, Africa, and elsewhere. This person is stuck yet realizes his shortcomings and his agony compared to a beau hunk to apoplexy and yet can only offer a uncured stiff animal skin signifying some kiss in repulsion with flies. Great study and comparisons of civilizations starting elsewhere from barbarism, corruption, and also shaking colonialism mixed in that corruption with some righteous hideous slave labor lashing barbarism, also between the classes yet not realizing their otherwise dependency and need of that labor - they will be nothing there.

I Heard the story just to get the context of this line, When next he came to me he was drunk-royally drunk on many poets for the first time revealed to him. His pupils were dilated, his words tumbled over each other, and he wrapped himself in quotations-as a beggar would enfold himself in the purple of emperors. I was desperate since morning just to get it . 😊
