How are the transports?? I wanna use them for work. I’m standing and walking all day

My son hired a Van from Bunnings April 2024. Apparently there is no three hour hire option, and two hours may not have been enough, so he had to choose the four hour option. Nevertheless, they told him that though he has to pay for four hours he would need to bring it back half an hour before closing time which meant in reality he could only have use of the van for three hours! Then there was an insurance charge of $40.00 unless he wanted to take the chance of paying a $4500.00 excess if he was involved in any type of accident. Prior to returning he refilled the gas tank to full which cost him $7.50. On return to Bunnings they also deducted $20 from his deposit for kms driven. Needless to say, he wont choose Bunnings next time. My own personal experience prior to his, about mid 2023 wasn't quite so bad. I needed a ute to quickly pick up some chairs from a store and take them to my home nearby. I took advantage of the one hour hire. Luckily I wasn't threatened with the potential ridiculous excess fee and offered the added insurance for peace of mind. If I had been I may have paid it because $4500.00 is a lot of money, and other people can cause bingles no matter how careful you are. Anyway, by the time the old fellow doddled around and got the paperwork done there was only 40 minutes of my hour left as the timer starts as soon as they begin taking details for the transaction. I can tell you it was pretty stressful rushing about to complete my task and then top up the petrol (despite the fuel gauge still being on full as I had only traveled 2 kms, but he said I must show a fuel receipt) and having no idea where the petrol cap was or what type of petrol I should use lol. Still, I got out of it cheap. But I would be wary next time.

Honestly don’t get why people see this is Australian Christmas, for me it’s always been about pain, it always used to physically hurt me as a child, my family always had my Christian relatives come over, and they were dicks, I was hit by my cousins uncle one time for something his kids did, but he always hated me and said that I did it even when his own kids said to his wife that they did it and she told him, you may be wondering what this big “thing” that they did was, forks, they swapped his fork and a different fork on his seat at the table, also it doesn’t help the story but this has also happened, he got in trouble for drunkenly yelling the N word at an aboriginal family who lived near me, I hated Christmas for 19 years
