Not your typical death metal, but as a genre of deathcore, these guys are absolutely mindblowing. Ben's voice are the closest to the studio recordings I've seen in many years. Back to Chris Barnes and corpsegrinder times.

I've seen pretty much every deathcore band around and sometimes you just stand there in fucking awe. I assume this is one of those times.

It's kinda the same syndrome where you go to a concert from someone like... let's say Dream Theater or Animals as Leaders, people barely move at all but it's not that they are bored, they are awestruck. That happens when you have such virtuous talent in front of you. Considering SoI are way more energetic it's hard to believe but they are actually pretty insane, the vocalist specifically seems to be one of a kind in the scene. I'd would stand there in shock just hearing him sing like that... for a whole 11 minutes straight and not running out of energy?
To be fair, this is around the time when they were new to touring and I think this is one of their first times visiting California. Everyone was highly anticipating SOI. It was like a magical moment. I'll never forget this day as it was my first time seeing them.
