@@Travel-by-Train No you will never please everyone so do not bother trying. I tend to stray away from locations like Phuket or Chiang Mai city myself as these places were ruined by mass tourism years ago besides fake compared to where there are few if any foreigners where I tend to explore.

When I went about 15 years ago I did not go with a group. I was the only gringo and especially the only blonde old lady wondering around Bangkok. I feel very safe and I love the country. Funny seeing the tranny!!
