It's a good question. Maybe you need I think cause if i know right they use baritone guitars. But if you just want to make a cover it's doesn't really matter. But on stage and in studio does. My guitar is doesn't made for metal and lower tuning but honestly I don't have any problem with the neck. Sometimes I bring my guitar to a Luthier and he/she fix on the straight of the neck and the octaves. But not too much and my frets not wear from it or i didn't noticed it yet:D Are you also have a channel? If yes I'm interested about it:)
