This is definitely my favourite version of this song
I love this song, from the tv show oc 😊
wow what a lovely song
Wow that was an amazing cover. Made me cry. Beautiful
THE. MOST. BEAUTIFUL.SONG
this brings untold joy to my bitter heart. truly beautiful.
over six years later and this still holds a special little nubbin in my brain.
its showing 7 for me but totally agree with you
Hat Films was one of my favorite channels as a younger man. Most of a decade on, their content doesn't appeal to me anymore, but that's okay. So long as this version of Alsmiffy exists, my memory of them will be fonder for it.
I'd argue this is even better than the original! Fantastic work!!
Just seen this and nearly kept scrolling, decided to click on because i liked the name tin box boys. Was not expecting an Alex Smith appearance
still a banger
Still coming back to this lovely cover.
im still coming back to this song. such a good version! thank you 😁
I can confidently say that this is the best cover of this song out there - I think I like it even more than the original, I've played it 4 times as often!
Melodic Creed
This is significantly older than 5 years.. Love you Schmiff!
i came here from "calming voice" thx for the letter
For a brief time I got to work at the Yogscast and one of my biggest regrets is I didn't get to ask Alex about this
This is actually better than the original. Thank you so much x
God damn this sounds incredible
This is beautiful! Wow!
Bop I really do love how in Hat Films, Smith is this angry salt vessel but deep down he's just an existential indie softboi <3
yup yup. great lockdown music
Well done. Jesus found a banjo and started singing on the banks of the Jordan. Thank you Sufjan and Tin Box Boys!
Absolutely beautiful. Been a huge Hat Films fan for almost 6 years now, and known this song for almost as long. The whole band are incredible. Would love to see you guys one day, although it feels something of a pipe dream.
The violin adds so much to this song, I love it
This is amazing. wonder if i can get smith to sing this on the christmas live streams
Do you ever think about everyone coming back together?
It amuses me greatly that the 'up next' from this wonderful song is goddamn Shipping and Receiving
I don't know why this band hasn't been advertised, i know that people want to live there own lives the way they want but it would be nice to see a modernised version of this song maybe even a reunion of this band !!!
I love this! Usually I'm more into metal and rock (more as workout music and such) but this is a great cover that I think is actually beautiful to sit down and listen to and appreciate. Love to see this side of Smith and the wonderful people that made up his earlier life. I hope everything is going well for all the band members and hope they all get together once in awhile! Lots of love!
Wow, so I came here because of a comment on the Yogscasts most recent jingle jam and I never thought smiffy could be part of such beautiful music lol.
This is so incredibly beautiful, and there's something very natural even about the video. All in my own perception, obviously, but I can feel the coziness with the group at large and maybe it's a cold winter outside - perhaps a snowday. It's all just very beautiful. I know it's an old video but I hope you talented individuals kept going in some way, hopefully collaborating more and more!
lxxv - It was an easy recording to do, the video is the real thing, we were handing round my crap camera during the session, everyone knew each other. Mark Wiggins’ banjo is just superb and Alex has a great voice! Milly’s backing vocals and fiddle just sit so well with everything. Happy days!
came as a hat films fan. staying as a tin box boys fan :D
Is the band still running?
Wow.. absolutely beautiful.
Is there an official download for this? Or at least something I can download that's not ripped off youtube so I can play this in my car?
Barreled Squid you can probably find it on soundcloud, which might give you better quality
I am at least 100 of the 14363 views on this video. And even then I put the song on loop so I've listened much more than that
Barreled Squid Thanks for the support :)
i would love to learn this on violin but cant find any sheet music for it anywhere. :(
Orangemonkey Gaming Hey, I just played by ear. Just have a go and play along with the track! X
ah ok then maybe that will be a long term project for me - ive only just started playing so doing it by ear is gonna be far off. thanks for the advice and i will definately be trying to do it (it gonna take some time though :). )
He may be a vulgar, aggressive man child in the hat videos but this is the reason smiffs my fave. So good.
I'd love this on spotify... Such a great song!
When was this masterpiece shot?
2013 I think!
This song right here should win an award. It's no wonder why Smithy is so critical of modern day music. When him and his band can give us so much more. Hope to hear more soon! But thank you for now.
Do you guys stay in contact?
This song gives such nostalgia
Why am I just finding this now!!!!
Waaayyyyy better than the original #ttbbreunion2017
Thank you :)
can someone get this version onto Spotify please xx
Smith would have to put it up. Spotify verify the music before they put it on there.
