Nice truck!
Is it still registered as a suburban what happens if you get pulled over and the license plates come back as a surburban?
It’s not registered as a suburban anymore it’s classified as a one ton pickup even the plates are one ton plates so I’m perfectly fine if I get pulled over.
@@BigJakesGarage but it’s built out of a suburban
@@ChanceColwell when my grandpa built it he had to go to the dmv and have the title changed so if you look at the title it doesn’t say “suburban” anymore it’s changed to something else. So the state recognizes it as a one ton pickup.
what happens if you get pulled over and the license plates come back as a surburban
Love the truck, and love the story which goes with the truck. Bet the extra space in behind the back seat can come in handy ...
My 03 did that I put a switch in to off the power to the clock and ran a small plug for a 2 amp. tender. Problem solved
I might have to look into doing that
Ultra Rare opera edition
A real Dutch oven?brotha that's a piece of American history!
A bagger implement for ... the push mower
Now what's it for?
What about the bag of screws on the floor behind you

Used to have an 86 r30 custom outta Joplin Missouri named the “outlaw” back seat folded into a bed had TVs and all types of crazy shit 454 4spd rwd lwb frame with a swb bed an cab extended back
Pretty sick maybe imma jus chop the top on my suburban as well lol

Pretty sick
How long does it take for the battery to drain down? About 3 weeks? If so that’s about normal. I just put a charge plug on mine and put the tender on if I’m parking it for longer than a month
Love the truck! Keep up the good work!👍🏾
You've got to be kidding. One of the easiest dashes to work with, just watch the shift indicator cable.
Except the first time, apparently.
@don2deliver I absolutely agree with you I removed one on my 79 chevy easy to do. But what you don’t know is the speedo cable was stuck in that thing plus it was short and had no room to pull the dash out farther so that’s why I said “pain in the butt”
@@BigJakesGarage Yeah i had one that I had to disconnect at the trans and free up enough cable through the fire wall to rock the cable off the speedometer after pushing the release spring.
At 4:34 . My bike is doing the exact same thing. What did you do to solve that issue?
There could be a few reasons as to why. I’m thinking my carbs are gummed up. I haven’t looked into it further it’s kinda on the back burner until spring I got another project that I’m trying to get done before winter. When I do find out why there will be a video on it along with a huge problem that popped up with this one.
It has a live clock, all the time, even when it is turned off. It will drain the battery in about 2 weeks.
What ru driving ?
Half suburban half pickup
Deeee troit 2t yeah buddy!
That’s all lol
Got more horse power than you’ll ever have
Not in the bed
@@hennonallen6425 you carry that extra chromosome close to your heart💯
You your lucky to get that truck back it's priceless
Wow
Greetings, friend! I'm in awe of this handsome old cowboy! Your grandfather was a real craftsman! It's great that the car has returned to the family after so many years, after all, these trucks are a legend, especially as unique as yours. It was funny in the middle of the video when it came to the round windows that leaked. I caught myself thinking that a couple of round windows from the washing machine were asking for it. Hermetically sealed and opens! 🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆 As they say in Russia - cheap and angry. I own a 96 Suburban in Russia, I love these cars and am slowly improving my own. I have subscribed, I will watch your assembly. Sorry for my poor English, I use Google translator. Sincerely bro!
привет друг! Спасибо за комментарий! Я не знал, что у вас, ребята, в России есть пригороды, это круто! Я вырос с пригородом 96 года, и моя семья точно владела потрясающим автомобилем!
@@BigJakesGarage Good afternoon Yes, in Russia there are a few suburbs of various generations, but still, for some reason, this car is rather an exception for our country. New generations (due to high customs duties) can be afforded by very wealthy people. Old generations are mostly feared because of the large engine size, fuel consumption, transport tax and the cost of spare parts. For example, right now on the boards on the Internet there are hardly a couple of dozen cars in a 400m body and a dozen of their predecessors. In general, we have a very small community of lovers of these wonderful cars here, and one way or another, some owners know each other and communicate on the forums. Of course, they have not yet managed to become part of family stories, since they are in your country (the home of the brand), but those that are definitely not left without attention. Big, reliable, brutal - despite the years. In general, I think that our countries are very similar in their scale, nature, and the people in the outback are just as simple and sincere. And accordingly, these machines are equally well suited for both countries. I recently watched the series "Longmire" about a sheriff from Wyoming, nature is very similar to the nature of our east - mountains, forests, valleys ... everything is there to be proud of your country, a happy person. Well, in general, we now also have GM, for which thanks to your engineers! ✊✊✊ Sorry for a lot of letters, I had free time, got carried away.
@@BigJakesGarage Speaking of GM engineers... For me, it was inexplicable and surprising how in the body of a 400m Suburban (which is a full-size SUV) they managed to arrange the rows of seats so close. So, with a height above 1.7 meters, and my 1.9 (I don’t know how many feet it is, sorry) in the back seat, passengers need to look for a place for their knees, on the third row in this regard, I also sincerely don’t understand how the Americans managed to make children there .. 🤣🤣🤣 In general, my first alteration in the Suburban is the installation of all the seats from the Audi Q7 and their freer arrangement, since the place allows it. In general, now I have a beautiful leather interior with a single seat card pattern as from the factory, electric adjustments, and heating everywhere. I go enjoy. I really like the car precisely because it allows you to easily refine yourself. 👍👍👍😊😊😊
I’m curious as to how he set up the 8 lug bud wheels up front is that a 3/4 ton front axle or half ton with some sort of extension to fit the wheels or what because I see no locking hub flush with the wheel mounting surface like would be on your Common Dana 60 k30 front axle Very cool build either way I hope you keep videos posted on it I’ll be a follower
It’s a Dana 44 that has one ton outer’s on it is was a 4x4 but the front axle was gutted at one point in time so that’s why you don’t see and locking hubs on it. I did however buy a rebuilt Dana 60 for the front that I will put in when I do the engine swap.
I hope the back wall is cut out and the seat is moved all the way back, either that or they got one of those reclining loveseats back there!❤😅😊
Actually it was a suburban so the back seats fold down.
@@BigJakesGarage NICE!😃
That's a lot of truck
That’s an extend extend cab 😂
Just 👍🏽🤟🏽
wow whata monster ;-)
Looking forward to seeing how you get on with your Voyager. I ride a 1991 model, with just over 13,000 miles on the clock. I am the second owner, having had her for 2 years. The first owner did little over 11,000 miles on her in all his years of ownership, and as such she looks almost new. I love the old-school noise she makes, with a very 'rorty' exhaust note. Still has a punch under harder acceleration, and is as comfy as hell. Enough space in the topboxes to go camping, and best of all she has bucket-loads of character. I can highly recommend the 'AVA' (American Voyager Association') for help.
Mine has something draining the battery too. Did you ever figure it out?
No I have not, when I do find what it is I’ll make a video on it.
Congratulations on getting to buy your grandfather's truck back. Great bones and potential to be a solid truck and cowboy cadillac. Could the back seat double as a bed?
Yes they do I’ve slept in it once and I will agin this summer.
Great vid!! hope to see an update on how that bike is runin
Beautiful 👍
I wouldn't . L .S . It's a good run in truck it this needs good paint and little loving 😢
I was wanting to buy one of those a few years go.there were a couple companys making them centurion conversation was one of them
I got to look at one of those one day they are like mine but since they used the stock frame they had to use a 6ft bed mine is a full 8ft plus since it’s suburban I got the fold down seats which is nice!
That thing is fuckin sweet. 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good job
Is it a 454 or another 350
