El Brahms más sabio, refinado y conmovedor. La maestría de Gilels en estas exquisitas obras es difícilmente igualable. No hace falta escuchar otras versiones. 👏👏👏👏

Otro ejemplo de obra desdeñada por su compositor, pero que a mí (que tengo, seguro, peor gusto que Chopin) siempre me ha parecido impresionante, musical y pianísticamente considerada. Desde el comienzo hasta el final. Uno de los grandes méritos del gran Arrau fue tocar y grabar piezas poco frecuentadas por otros grandes pianistas. Gran versión. 👏👏

Arrau demuestra aquí, y varias veces, que podía tocar tan rápido como el que más; pero sólo allí donde era adecuado hacerlo. ¡Qué diferente de Argerich y de algunas celebradas pianistas actuales, que no pueden evitar dejar claro que cada una toca más rápido que la otra.

LA PERFECCIÓN.

Una de las más bellas sinfonías que se han escrito. Me impresiona cada vez que la escucho, y la he escuchado cientos de veces. La versión de Kubelik es difícilmente superable.

Una de las mejores interpretaciones de esta obra maestra, como no podía ser de otro modo, tratándose de Arrau. Y sobre todo, con el tempo adecuado. ¡Qué diferente de ciertas pianistas actuales que compiten para ganar el Guinnes de rapidez!

Muy buena interpretacion, es un violinista que reune el predio excelente que que es bueno en temas lentos, regular y rapidos conservando la esencia. Para mi gusto y opinión es la mejor version del concierto para violín de Betoven.

Just look at the cast opera goers of today, and weep. Absolutely impossible to equal or for that matter come anywhere near the quality. We are so lucky to have these performances preserved for posterity by the evolution of recording technique. A classic if ever there was one.

Interesting to compare, Gilels with the Chicago SO 1958 under Reiner, two years later Richter with the same orchestra under Leinsdorf. Both very similiar in their common Russian piano school , and there is no better nor worse than... - Richter perhaps with, typical for him, more structure from beginning to end, Gilels with more flowering sound (like Rubinstein).

I've lost count the number of times I've heard this. It's really one of the greatest concerti of the 20th century. I always keep coming back to this fantastic performance by Milstein. It's ironic that this performance is so great while Milstein himself said he wasn't particularly fond of the music. He liked the second movement more than the first and third. No matter. This is the recording to have.
