I had always seen the "bunnies" as hares rather than rabbits as coneys were "kept" in warrens under (surprise) a warrener and "harvested" for the table rather than hunted, unlike the hare (the original "puss"), a quarry animal.
Thank you for this interview I loved it. Im a huge Finkel fan so I go out of the way to watch every single interview with him available.
She is so beautiful i love her!
Well, I hope this channel takes off. Finkel is great!
Thank you!
American marketing is a soulless projection of what American culture tries to be.
Always a pleasure listening to Mr. Newbrook. Informative and fascinating view into linguistics.
You can never go wrong having Finkel as a guest... Two things. It's Irving not Iriving and the background music is completely unnecessary and in fact annoying..
🆕 subscriber, thank you with gratitude for the interviews of 60+ as tomorrow is never promised. Several suggested writings below as you had posed the question? When I tell people I used to own a BC RICH they just look at me with a sour face and cringe, then I say hold up.. there was a time... In the late 90's I purchased an early 80's bc rich bich from a pawn shop in pittsburgh for $200 cash and a trade on a carvin ultra v. I had previously paid $399 for the ultra V.... man those were the days!! Total, I was in the bich for $600. Probably worth 5k now!! It was arguably the most well built guitar i've ever owned. The neck through construction on those early bc rich guitars was unparalleled. As mentioned in the video, a lot of custom one off type stuff. I've never seen any two biches that had the same options. It was a 6 string version with a black kahler bridge and only 4 knobs arranged in a staggered pattern and wired like a les paul with translucent red finish and pearl clear coat around the edges, standard dot inlay, black head stock with just the R logo. It was truly a unique guitar! Played like a dream, smoothest neck you'd ever felt! Sold it on ebay years later and absolutely regret doing so. Ended up in Norway or sweeden or some shit. Not sure who's hording them all but they are impossible to find these days. Too bad most people will only ever know bc rich guitars as some cheap Guitar center junk! Complete with 90's style tribal graphics and the occasional acrylic green turd that looks like a youtuber made it with a gallon of epoxy resin! But there was a time.
Dr Finkel really brings the ancient culture back to life with his storytelling....I could Listen for hours, sitting in de dimlight of a logfire, dancing shadows, and these stories in his voice full of love for what he brings to life with his words....

Judas Priest is now the best Judas Priest cover band ever
I agree you bout Painkiller I feel the exact same way. The success of that album has hindered their writing from that point on, because they kept trying to recreate that album since so many new people liked it. I like the old funky JP. My fav albums are Stained Class, Hell Bent, and Point of Entry
The story I've heard over the years in regard to their leather, was Rob walking around Amsterdam in the mid 70's, and stopped into some of their "clothes" stores" and decided to try some stuff on, and he liked it. Rob told this story on a few interviews. I'm not discounting the KK angle, just stating what ive heard over the years. Been a fan since 1982, Peace

Hi viewers! I noticed on the side area there someone asked if I sell those weavings. I have not sold any weaving although I have sold other fiber arts. I could sell a small woven item but the one in the video took half a year to make and so something that large and detailed would have to be priced high. On my next appearance on the Bard's Archive I'll be demonstrating how I do my weaving.
I just heard her podcast today. So good.

Just a clarification, Dr. Finkel. Scotland (Albain) has Gaelic (Gàidhlig). The colonizers' language is English, just as occurred in Éireann (Gaeilge) and Cymry (Cymraeg).
Oh dear! It's "in Éirinn", dative case (tuiseal tabharthach).
This interview shows exactly why this woman is one of my favorite witches, ever. I agree with everything she said... especially the taking responsibility part. The story about the baby was so sad but also so beautiful in the end. Witches are the protectors of children. I get so angry when anyone harms an innocent child.

Zeppelin were the perfect band at the perfect time. The ultimate musical unit -
0:49 ... Queen was big and had some good songs but no way would I put them on the same level as Led Zeppelin who was definitely bigger in every aspect and is a Mt. Rushmore band.."Mt Rockmore" ...Beatles might have been called rock but to me they were more of a pop band. Which is fine and they were good for what they did 60 years ago but Zeppelin took rock to another level. There's no comparison. Beatles shows lasted 25 minutes and they were whisked off the stage to a waiting car. Zeppelin concerts were well over 3 hours. Page developed a sloppiness especially in later years with a certain well-known substance but it still worked in Zeppelin's music and his iconic status outweighs any shortfalls that occurred later on in his guitar playing. Physical Graffiti which is a masterpiece is the band's peak and even though Presence and ITTOS are good as mentioned the best days were behind them..
Quite so. Queen were never huge in the USA like Zeppelin were. Pink Floyd were bigger than Queen in America.
What a wonderful tour! We visited once and can't wait to return. Turner's and Red's are our favorite eating establishments. We stayed at the historic Hawthorne Hotel. Love Salem. Thank you.
Thank you! Feel free to say hi if ever see me about in a future trip. Hope to bring more this summer
Presence is Page/Bonham. In through the outdoor is Plant/Jones. This lack of total collaboration on these 2 albums shows in the output. Personally I like Presence better, but the wheels were coming off during this time.
I prefer OTTOD. It has more versatility and more new ideas. Presence was treading water.
Brilliant conversation. Thank you sir for sharing !
Thank you for watching!

Wow! The fireplace and wood panels behind you and the door to the left are very similar to my living room. I live in a house in Vermont that was built in the 1780s. The fire place is one of 3 that are centrally located and connected to the same chimney. I'm guessing your room is also late eighteen century. Maybe you say in the video but for me the video stops playing after 18 seconds, even after refreshing the page. Will try again later.
Thank you for letting me know, Leave a comment if this persists. I have not had that experience checking the video.
If you would like having your house archived or wish to talk about it, if you know the history you can feel free to email me
Excellent guest, well done, good interview. Volume here was quite low.

I was working there all during this time and remember how upset Laurie was about this!! I like the name Witches Brew too, it was, and was meant to be cute. I loved every minute of working for you both! No one gave any trouble when I was there. :) Great interview Betty! I can't wait to hear all of them! RIP Laurie. 💛

"Runo" means "poem" in modern Finnish
Terrific breakdown of the king code 50min in.
Amazing discussion. Its an interesting question to contemplate whether the Mushroom, Woden, the Mead, Germanic Poetry, language/ the word & the magic/ intend that activates runic power can be clearly seperated at all or if they are not all different components of living myth. As in different stages of the burning of wood.
In an alchemical context, the Mushroom - seed of flame, consciousness/ creative passion/madness/will, Woden - the wood / body. Mead - dancing/cooking blood/liquid fire/trance. Poetry - sparks/ magic, language - smoke, runes - scribes of ash.. to be noted the German word Urne is combined with the same letters. Which means a rune as a mythic key contains the whole power of its Myth but the entire process of burning needs to be understood n activated through it to truly unlock the secret encoded.
Mugwort is a dream supplement and grows all over the north east usa
Lol I drew runes on my face in ritual before taking some fungus. 😅
Runes are inherently Magick but they have to be activated otherwise they are mere marks
How are runes inherently magic? Are our letters inherently magic, too? If not, why not?
@@Langwigcfijul these letters show connections to threads of the wyrd. They hold primordial emotional meaning in our genetic memory and collective unconscious.
@ZerilathImmortal sounds like you're just pulling crap from Assassin's Creed. How do runes hold primordial emotional meaning in our genetic memory and collective consciousness? Whatever that's supposed to mean.
@@Langwigcfijul if you studied anthropology of the bronze age we wouldn't be having this conversation. If you want a lecture from you better pay for it
@ZerilathImmortal Well, when you spew a load of nonsense, people tend to get onto you about. Runes are letters like ours. They're only as magic as what a person gives them. Giving runes magic is not them having magic inherently nor none of this nonsense about genetic memory and collective unconscious, which sounds like some fortune teller, mystic rubbish.

What an interesting discussion! This had me 'spellbound'.sorry for the pun. Seriously, I'm fascinated by the runes. Less as a means of divination and more as an expression of universal truths, forces, and patterns. I can't wait for the continuation. 🎉
