the reason why so many people still play this "old game" over the new stuff is because you have way better control over your vehicle with stuff like landing angles, drifting low tricks, hop trick realigns, inside drift, spindrifts, and so much more tech that's absent from mk8dx, hell they even removed the tech from the original mario kart 8 because they want as LITTLE depth and skill ceiling as possible in mario kart games these days, the new games are totally for babies in comparison to mkwii if you want a more concrete response as to why mk8 is such an unpopular competitive game, one single problem: phantom items. It makes online completely unviable and unplayable for both casual and competitive players, getting hit by items you can't even SEE is just a joke and if you're playing mk8 over mkwii then you're mentally insane

I think they patched this out of 3d all stars, i got the first part of the glitch to work (getting pulled up to the trial galaxy), but when i got there it wouldn't let Luigi fly, or even spin in the air at all
