I’ll take that back, somewhat. You sometimes have to lock the wheel in this boat, I found out. Not if you’re sleeping though. You can slow the time down while sleeping if it looks like trouble.

….if I do lock the wheel I am always going back to check the compass and making small corrections…..it’ll never go exactly where you want…..as it should be.

I always have it in my head that IF a collision looks imminent, turn to Starboard regardless of anything else?

That is true, but we decided port and starboard was a step too far; unfortunately, left and right was also too much at once.

@@NauticalSimulation Not really; it's just a good little boat and will make an excellent tender; if a little on the large side. I do remember that she liked to start doing unrequested random spins when being rowed; we used to put the centre board down when in deep enough water. Other than that; it's all good.

lol Yes I noticed the free rotation when rowing; thought it was just me :-)

@@NauticalSimulation If you haven't got the centre board, make a short one up out of some marine ply and it will stop your trips on the magic roundabout. A good thing about these dinghies is that they were made when they still laid the fibre glass on nice and thick, so she'll be durable. If I came across another one now I'd buy it. What is it then?

I'm not sure. I watched the (excellent) video a few times, to be sure, but I am certain it is not a Snapdragon 24. It is quite similar, but the Snappie has a skeg rudder that is set forward of the rear locker, just behind the prop (where an onboard engine is fitted. It also has a more pronounced brow forward of the front hatch, as well as separate heads and front cabins with standing headroom throughout. The boat in the video also has the cooking facilities on the wrong side, and has a support pole in the centre, which the S24 doesn't. It looked like the keels were possibly not encapsulated on the video boat, where the S24 is, and also there is a different shape of cockpit, as well as no semi circular moulding in front of the companion way, where the dodger clips on. I am happy to send pictures of the S24 if that helps at all, as I just did a rebuild of mine, so have plenty of pics.

​@HedleyRJones I'd love to have a look definitely. I've looked at a few boats, and they never seem to match what they should 😆 But, I don't know enough to agree or disagree with your suspicion.

Excuse my last, I misread your message. I haven't any experience on the snapdragon 21, but I would suggest that is better suited to couples or solo sailors based on the space available. The comfort rating is not that good (can be a little rough in certain weather conditions) so not ideal for some rookies or inexperienced sailors. Thank you.

Officially it wasn't presented as an Alpha, but the dev has responded to my feedback and has confirmed they will now look to develop the inside of the ship.....So I guess it could now be considered as an alpha?

No! Wrong solution. Waves are fine, boat physics are wrong & like irl if the weather and waves are too big....wait for conditions to improve 😃

@@NauticalSimulation I don't mind the waves, occasionally. But its constant and the set up they have on the boat steering is like a jet ski not a boat. You only have turning control if you give it a bunch of throttle. We could turn at low throttle on our tuna boat no problem even if the seas were...nautical. Not to mention the full boat flight you get in game. I'm sure they will fix some things it's just not fun right now.

Good advice. Hopefully the games physics will improve to make this a necessity.
