    does vinegar not halt the fermentation?

    • @MyFriendBob
      @MyFriendBob Місяць тому

      When bottling your completed vinegar, it is likely that some of the mother remains in the final product. The presence of the mother contributes to ongoing fermentation. Therefore, to halt the fermentation process, it is necessary to filter your vinegar multiple times using cheesecloth or a coffee filter.

    Interesting! I would like to know the contrast between how a fried egg is prepared in Pakistan versus the way it is typically made elsewhere.

    • @MyFriendBob
      @MyFriendBob 4 місяці тому

      Thank you for asking such a great question, we truly value your attention to detail. In Pakistan, when frying eggs, they have a unique technique of ensuring that the bottom gets crispy while keeping the yolk delightfully runny. However, in this video, we wanted to highlight two additional factors. Firstly, we opted not to use a non-stick pan, as it can affect the texture, crispiness of the eggs and on top it is not healthy. Instead, we chose a stainless-steel pan, and to enhance the coating on the bottom, we used butter rather than regular cooking oil. Although a small amount of oil was added for cooking purposes, the primary pan coating was achieved with the rich and flavorful butter.

    I love your videos and blog, I have learned quite a bit. I wanted to know with planting herbs, can you provide guidance on which herbs are best to plant together? Also, how often do herbs need water? I tend to oversaturate everything.

    • @MyFriendBob
      @MyFriendBob 4 місяці тому

      We truly appreciate your support and viewership of our videos. Your presence as a follower gives us the confidence and encouragement to believe that we are on the right track. When it comes to inter-planting herbs, we don't have too many strict rules. However, we do follow a few simple guidelines. One of them is to grow annuals and perennials in separate spaces. This is because perennials will continue to come back each year, so it's important to have a designated area for them that won't be accidentally disturbed or killed. Another rule, as mentioned in the video, is that certain herbs like mint and oregano should have their own dedicated confined spaces, as they have a tendency to take over any area they are given. When it comes to watering your herbs, it's important to keep a close eye on the soil moisture. Simply touch the top layer of soil and if it feels moist, there's no need to water. However, if it feels dry, you can give them a little bit of water. Remember, herbs have green leaves, and if they lack water, their leaves will start to wilt. By paying attention to their water needs, you can ensure their health and vitality. We recently created a video about containers, which may provide you with some ideas on choosing the right container for your watering requirements. You can find the link to the video below. We hope this information is helpful to you! ua-cam.com/video/Q_-373V-afc/v-deo.html

      We are thrilled that you stumbled upon our video during your random searches, and we would be delighted to welcome you as a viewer and subscriber to our channel. Here at MFB, our goal is to create a community that is passionate about both learning and teaching, so we are excited to have you join us. Regarding the topic of herbs in beauty therapies, we want to clarify that we are not currently equipped to offer guidance in that area, as we mentioned to another viewer previously. However, individuals who grow their own herbs and incorporate them into their cooking are likely to be interested in maintaining a healthier lifestyle. While we are not claiming that herbs alone are responsible for keeping them healthy, beautiful, and in good shape, we believe that a balanced diet and lifestyle, which may include herbs, play a significant role. We hope this explanation addresses your query satisfactorily.

    One of the herbs that I would have liked to hear from you was St John's wort. My understanding is that it has chemicals that help with depression and regulate mood. There are some others who attribute it to help with symptoms of menopause and some other female conditions. What are your thoughts?

    • @MyFriendBob
      @MyFriendBob 4 місяці тому

      We appreciate your perspective and understand your point. In the video, we specifically focused on the culinary aspects of the herbs and did not delve into their medical properties. At MFB, our expertise lies in gardening and cooking, and we are not qualified to provide information on medicinal uses. While we can offer insights on gardening and cooking, we unfortunately cannot guide you on how to incorporate St John's wort into your kitchen endeavors. We hope you understand our limitations and continue to support us by watching and engaging with our content.

    I bought a few grow bags and liked them for some of the same reasons that are mentioned here. The next year, I went crazy and bought quite a lot. Today, I regret my decision. One because some are ripping apart, and two is that in deep summer, they are always dry.
