Hi I'm Jake. Jake Snake apparently. I like finding cool animals while out hiking & am also a volunteer for the Raptor Center of Tampa Bay. Posting my favorite finds here :)
Behavior & Community at an Otter Den
So I've been meaning to put this video out for a while. If I come off like I'm tired and stoned narrating at 3am it's because I was. This video details different behaviors from otters I noticed from the trail cam footage I collected. Enjoy!

Ringneck Snake Eggs Hatching

These were eggs that were left by an adult ring neck snake I was keeping temporarily. These eggs are fairly easy to incubate, only needing a glass jar & soil. For Ringneck snake care, watch this video - ua-cam.com/video/XUklVEoFGzI/v-deo.html

ThIs is kool because i tried to keep them as a kid and they always died.
2:56 oh wow I never thought they’d constrict their prey too much
yeah it seems rare! its the only time I have seen it while feeding them
My hell you didn’t even show the best part. Lame video
Do you breed these ?
Do you breed
And it can’t breath out of the water 😢
they are fine out of water as long as they stay wet, for 30 minutes to an hour. :)
Great footage and info.
Thanks!
Nice captures and edits. Very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting this, Jacob!!
Awesome content,keep it coming!
thank you father gains
*Found it!*
What a beautiful rat snake!
Beautiful!
Surprised Pikachu
Poopy wing
Same mines in front of the mouth of the snake but it refused?😢
I heard they don’t do well in captivity
I've had good experience personally, I've even had some that I could hand feed :)
Well dang it now I’ve got to go and do some more research cause really want one lol they are so awesome and my son would love it to awesomeness
they are neat! curious snakes. They can be hand fed as well but I like keeping them wild'd up lol
@@jaked-snaked awesome and thank you for the info
ive been wanting to have one as a alternative to the regular mouse eaters, especially since im pretty good at farming insects (i get too heart broken around feeding mammals and lizards, frozen or not- and i dont have a good means of storing them) and i wasnt expecting to see one that seems so active? looks like a pretty doable setup and a good neighbor for my houseplants in my room, haha
absolutely! these are the only plants I've been able to keep alive at my house, and these snakes do move around a bunch. this is an old enclosure, the snakes all released. Now I have a new 40 gallon bioactive tank I'm working on with new ringnecks.
Hello i was wondering what kind of plants are best for this snake? Such as the kind of plant you are using as covrage? I dont want to get the wrong kind!
I actually couldn’t tell you what plants I used 😂 they were just weeds. If anything take plants / weeds from the areas ringnecks live around. They’re burrowers so I don’t think it would matter much.
Just went to Circle B yesterday...
How are they doing as of today?
I don't have them anymore they were released. What I used to do alot was catch native snakes, keep them & learn about them, then release them weeks/ later. Id say I had these snakes for about 5-6 months. Now I just have a kenyan sand boa from a reptile expo. I'm thinking of keeping ringnecks again though :)
These snakes are considered a delicious delicacy in my culture
Grab them by the ...
Carnivorous Plants are more fun and less hassle than dealing with a poison snake.
I am interested in one of these guys. Can they be cohabed? So I could just toss in a couple dozen earthworms and some isopods? I am so freaked out by earwigs.
yes the earth worms & isopods would be perfect. cohabitating is honestly hit or miss, it worked fine for me but I have heard others talking about cannibalism but I have not experienced it. Perhaps because how well fed they were. i also mist the enclosure every day.
💚
Great video very informative
I used this video to help guide me in setting up my habitat. Thanks!
Florida?
Yes 🎉
Now this is living
Who is drunk, You or the crabs?
Came for the crab catching left with knowledge on crabs 🤙🏽
gotta comment before this video blew up in 2030
I came to see drunk crabs being pulled over. Clearly clickbait!
Omg I’m dying over their cuteness 😍😍😍😍
Awesome
Some shit i would do 😂
Very entertaining watching it eat. They are great at hiding in the grass too.
Great video! The most amazing part is how Jake Snake trained the father Sandhill crane to use a video camera, and record this experience with his bird family. Great job, all around!
thanks! hahaha
Are those southern ringneck snakes. I have southern ringneck snakes here in florida I wish I could have them as pets and I have caught and found some.
It still doesn’t ever get to you know like, slither around. Do a little jog or sprint. Because you know, you have it like a really nice and luxurious yet tiny prison, that feeds it a good variety of food I guess. Still, that can’t be healthy mentally or physically for the animal to stay in one spot. I don’t like putting birds in cages, or fish in tanks, or have any animal caged up for that matter.
I'm genuinely interested in getting a ring necked snake. Can you tell what's happening a 2:53 though?
before the lizard
The ring neck snake is eating a brahminy blind snake.
How do you get serpent if you're not living in a situation where you can
So cool
쬐끄만게 잘 처먹네.
Hey man thanks for your content. I just found one in my basement and am looking to keep him. How long do these snakes live? I'll be getting an enclosure just like yours. Thanks!
hi!! i know im not the person that made this vid but ringneck snakes can live up to 6 years in captivity!
Had no idea they ate brown anoles, those are aggressive lizards for their size, I have one tiny ringneck in my enclosure with anoles and he never bothered them for years
What type of lighting is being used?
just a regular bulb, they don't require UVB
