Another thing you can try is to edit map option and see if the country selected there is India or not ..

you can try few things: 1. publish to powerbi services and download from there 2. take snippet or snapshot using a third party tool (snipping tool or print screen) and then save to required format (jpeg or png) hope this helps !

yes. you need internet only to download anaconda. once installed you can work on it without the internet. Just like you use word, excel, powerpoint without internet...

Hi.. Yes, you can but you need to understand data granularity of data before that.. Let's take an example.. Suppose we have following values in col1 and col2 ... A,A,B,C and 1,2,4,5. So in your example above, the numeric data (not to be aggregated ) would be in col2 = 1,2,4,5 and their corresponding values on col 1 would ne A,A,B,C .. If we now bring col 1 to X-axis and col 2 to Y-axis then we get a plot where we get aggregated by sum values = 3,4,5 against A,B,C (here both A's have been added 1+2). Now if you instead want x axis = A,A,B,C and Y axis = 1,2,4,5 (ie no aggregation) Now go to the section where you have dragged the columns, use the drop-down menu and choose don't summarize. This way the values wont summarize. But if you dont aggregate, then A=1 A=2 B=4 C=5 ... so you dont know which A is 1 and which A is 2. So to have a unique identifier to solve this problem ..like club 2 columns together to get unique value .. here is a quick video to understand data -granularity and aggregation: ua-cam.com/video/bcNzlUuG798/v-deo.html

Glad that you liked the video.. this is one major challenge while dealing with maps. Not only misspelled places but also at times one can get different places with same name. There is no direct solution to it as far as I know, you would have to correct the incorrect names manually. If there are too many names then you can get them fixed in an excel sheet and then import.. hope this helps !

Hi Rahul Tableau can go down up to a specific level in maps (districts, county etc). For anything below that (like Taluka) we can do following: 1. Use the shape file (you can easily get it for India), see my other video on shape file here: ua-cam.com/video/zDYEbUWw0TQ/v-deo.html 2. Use latitude longitude if you are just interested in location and not boundaries

Hi Asif, Thanks .. this is a typical binning problem ie you need to create bins . There are 2 ways I can think of : 1 . There is an option to create bins in tableau (right click over the field) and you can customise its size too 2. Create a calculated field and use an if-else formula to define bins Once bins are created you just need to drag bins over colors Hope this helps !

Hi Linda, There could be many reasons, few I can think of: 1. Check your locale settings 2. In maps edit location amd see if correct country is selected 3. Typo in location name 4. Field not part of tableau standard geographical role If nothing works you can also try using a spatial file..

Big hello from India !! There are few approaches to that (a GIS guy can give you lots of other solution) 1. Use spatial files (for geographies at granularity not defined in tableau, spatial files are available on various GIS sites, govt portals etc). How to build it from spatial files is explained in one of my videos here : ua-cam.com/video/zDYEbUWw0TQ/v-deo.html 2. Use an image to convert it to spatial file using the concept of georeferencing (basically putting some points on image that correlate to actual map and then use it as a reference to draw geometries) and then use in tableau. There are lot of datasets around this topic readily available. You may have a look at this one for instance (you might have to copy paste to populate your own excel/csv file if download option not available: www.census2011.co.in/district.php Do quote the source when you use it !

To give u a brief, I have Village level Polygon and Data Set which also has State District and Sub district as Columns. I want to click on State to show the aggregate of all the metrices of Villages that belong to that state and similarly for District and Sub district level data also .. Basically like Drilling up and down for Data on a Single Map... Is that possible ??? The Shape file has Village level polygons only but I want to display State level, District level as well as Sub district level polygons with the aggregated data.

Would need more information to give you an answer to that..
