Neil Peart Kit BFD3 / IKM Sampletank4
Comparison of the Neal Peart Virtual Drumkit, in BFD3 and Ik Multimedia's Sampletank 4, compared with FX and without FX. to me it sounds like Sampletank 4 has processing on the kit pieces even with the FX turned off. What do you think?

Can you access the WAV samples and import them into a Roland module?
I don't know I am not familiar with Roland drum modules, I think you will have to use BFD's software with the module.
Sampletank 4 is good! It can also be decomposed separately by channel in the mixer and also separately processed with built-in effects.. Thanks for showing the comparison! :)
You're welcome, I haven't had the time to sit with ST4 and process seperately, I will try sometime.
Hi, I need to know how to configure the MIDI controller to turn effects and plugins on and off, such as Neural dsp. I managed to just turn it on, but the controller doesn't turn off the same effect. can you help me?
I am not sure I understand you? What controller? Do you mean turning effects on/off with in the plugins?
@@DeangerSmith Yes, I use the M-Vave Chocolate Midi controller, I'm using the Neural DSP as a plugin. I managed to make it turn on the effects, but it doesn't turn off when activated again.
@@edgerodrigues cool, i had to ggogle that device, looks pretty good,.
@@DeangerSmith But my biggest question is about Element Kushview, I managed to configure and recognize the controller in the software, but it only works to trigger the effect, when I turn off the effect it doesn't respond.
It's a great time to be a guitar player! For sure there is a difference, but they both sound great. A little EQ on one or the other would get them about the same.
It's amazing to be a guitar player right now for sure :)🤙
What an Expansive Sound! That beginning part before the guitar came in sounded like part of a film score!😄
Totally, it's a lot of fun, like being back by an orchestra!
Hey, does anyone know off hand about how many velocities were recorded on these drums?
❤
Nice!
You're not playing it right, you know? {:o:O:}
👏🏻
Cool!Totally different from anything else I've ever heard you do!😄
Thanks Ré, gotta let it out, inspiration comes from all sorts of places, trying not to limit it.
bfd sounds like drums used in 2011-2015 hardcore song hahaha
It was Henry who spoke some sense into me once upon a time.
cool!
using the presets from those "amps" are not exactly good idea, presets tend to be really bad on every f software
Exactly, I was not doing a demo on how to manipulate and make your own sounds, I was showing different plugins, their presets, and how they sound. This is not a tutorial.
Guitar Rig tracks sound in mono ! Which is pretty bad for doubled and chorus sounds... they were meant to sound panned ie. stereo.
I loaded their presets, ie. that’s what they sounded like.
when you record guitars, you do it on mono, not stereo...
@@impheris yes.
@@impheris These plugins work on stereo audio channels, otherwise how would you add chorus, delay or other stereo modulation fx on them ? That's why there are the mono-mono, MONO-to STEREO, and stereo-stereo options for the input.
I panned tracks briefly at the end of the video, but not individual plugins, wasn't really my intention to focus on all attributes of the various plugins.
Brings back GREAT memories !
What app or program is this on?
THey are all plugins bru, they run in your DAW, I use Cubase.
F*** yeah! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 *head banging*

Hey lekker my bruuuuu 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸
Wow! Like this one 😮🤘🏻
Excellent I cant wait!
I really like this one!It should be a song,if it isnt already!
Howzit Ré, thanks, it's gonna be a song soon :) \m/
This is 1 of the best songs off the latest album and should be a single(if there were still such a thing!)
So difficult to choose which performs the best! What were your top 3?
I don't really use them a lot, I like hardware more. I think I like Steinberg Distroyer and Waves Berzerk the most, for heavier stuff. THe rest of them are okay too for more of an overdrive vibe rather than full on distortion.
nice work man - good luck!
Thank you bru, you too, really killer riff you played on yours 🤘🏻
Very interesting and groovy🔥 good luck brother 🤘
THank you bro \m/
Nice man. I still haven't uploaded mine yet. I got so busy with personal stuff and wasn't able to finish, or make a video. I guess I better hop to it today.
Go fot it bro \m/
OK, you just sold it to me... Great demonstration!
I initially thought I wouldn’t like or need it, but it’s proved very useful for a lot if productions, well worth it.
Awesome sound!!!
Thanks dude :)
Anyone know where I can get this kit? Have a 90% finished track using that kit, just did a fresh install and it's gone 😢
It should be present in GA5 if you have the full version? DId you install from the Steinberg Download Assistant?
Even though they may have used Lars kit ......the SSD5 still sounds BETTER in my humble opinion ....now ..all I am going by is sound quality in the mix ...NOT metering it by which sou d's closer to the drum tone on the black album ....which I KNOW is the comparison..... In the end I would rather trigger the SSD5 to Ez with my drums than the BFD3 .....BUT I do like the BFD3 the Dark Mahogany kit sou d's KILLER!!!!!
Absolutely love this gem 💎 of an album ! Thanks Robi for sharing.....Take care you my mad South African 🇿🇦 lover...Sonia 🔮 🧜♀️
Hey, Robi is my brother <3
Ahhh !! 🙉 He sent that UA-cam link to me ystd and I listened to the entire album and I just didn't realized..Of course he mentioned having a brother- named Dean ! 😉
@@888socho glad you enjoyed the album Sonia, Band o Gypsys were amazing to watch live too, give my big Bru a hug next time from me ;)
@@DeangerSmith Ah hmm I dunno that I'll have that chance now ...😔 but wow the album is really seriously so good !! I dunno why he would only share it time later as some kind of parting gift 😏🤍
Nice and eerily atmospheric!
For people saying one sounds better than the other: Quit listening with your eyes. The samples are identicle. BFD3 does have the advantage with the mixing page over any other drum VST.
The samples are far from identical, Chocolate Audio used the actual drum kit Lars Ulrich used on the black album, Steven Slate did not, he tried to model a different kit after the black album kit, this would make it virtually impossible for the samples to be identical. This can most definitely be heard by listening with your ears.
What is your name. I'm their sister Sandy.❤
Hi Sandy, my name is Dean, Robi’s brother, long time friends of the BOG family, used to live a block up from them In Rosettenville, we played many gigs together.
Miss them so much. Their sister Sandy Pulvenis❤❤❤ Peter Benny and Derek.

Answer: none at all! A quality EQ pedal is vastly more important than pickups.
Yes, I think anything else in the chain has more of an effect, as you stated - EQ for sure, amps and any other tone changing device, whether it be hardware or software, I will say though, there is a difference between some of these pups, if you listen on a good system (not a phone, although some can even be heard on the phone) differences can be heard in tone, albeit very little in some cases.
I think in a blind test, nobody would be able to pick out which pickup was which (except maybe the Tele neck pickup).
I totally agree with you, I saw a few videos on @SpectreSoundStudios and Glenn makes some valid points, however, I do hear differences between some of them, the overall tonal difference is miniscule though.
Thanks for posting this. A while back, I bought Crush thinking the snare would capture more dynamics and articulations like most of their other libraries, but was surprised to find out it only had hit, rim, side sticking rim click. Worried the install was incomplete, I contacted FXpansion and they told me that was how it was supposed to be since its intended for metal which doesn't use lower dynamics. Seems this is in the same and even though I had been considering this, I need full dynamics, so it's a pass.
Understood, thanks for checking it out, it's a great kit, great for all sorts but obviously metal orientated because of where it originated from, here's an album we used it on that was mixed/produced at Belville Studios. Metal all the way but a fantastic sounding kit - ua-cam.com/video/zbR5w-r3fEI/v-deo.htmlsi=cFZ6YCXVdbLWKeZJ

Ml drums and Krimh drums best not crazy about the other ones
The others are useful for certain genres and can actually be made to sound pretty good when processed, but straight out the box the two you mentioned are good, except for their limitations with the free version. BFD Player (which is free and fully functional ) trumps all of them.
@@DeangerSmithgreat video , I own most drum vst’s in the market and some are better than others but not by far. I honestly think groove agent from steinberg is one of the best and super underrated. Also mixwave stuff is pretty awesome. Thanks
@@artsal thanks for watching it, I was actually going to include groove agent, but ended up leaving it out as there are a lot of different kits and I didn't want to focus too much on one more than the other. I agree with you, groove agent has some amazing sounding kits. I'll have to check out mixwave, thanks for the tip!
