Homemade Footlong Coney Dogs (No Meat Grinder Required)
I used to go to great lengths to reverse engineer certain food recipes, and the Priazo Roma was one of them. It was a great pie that my friends and I would indulge into after work on a Friday or Saturday night, back in the late 80's. The process Pizza Hut used, was having the thin layer of dough over the ingredients/toppings, then a thin layer of sauce with more cheese added on the top of that dough. Both dough's were run through a dough sheeter, and would be assemble similar to making a pie crust, where both pieces extended over the edge of the pie tin, then the edge was rolled after the final assembly, which bound or crimped the seal on that edge. The scrap leftover dough was then put into a scrap dough bin, where Pizza hut would combine dough scraps (to minimize waste), but could only be used a second time. The dough scraps could not be used a third time. They also used a heat sink in the center of the pie, which assisted with the bake, so the dough wasn't still raw in the middle. The heat sink came in two sizes, one for a medium sized Priazzo, and one for a large. They are made out of cast iron, and they basically a round disc with thick teeth which are a few inches long...the teeth are what transfers the heat to the center of the pie. The employee's hated cleaning them, oftentimes complaining about trying to scrub the hard cheese and dried sauce off of them. ...This might be one of several reasons why Pizza Hut decided to discontinue this product. I seriously doubt that it will ever return. . The heat sinks can be bought on Amazon, last time I checked. I tried to find the old used pans on ebay...I searched dialy for several years, but never found them. They have every Pizza Hut pan, but that one. The pan was specially made just for that pie. I used to belong to a pizza forum over a decade ago, where I was able to pick the brains of former employee's who worked there back in the 70's & 80's... Nice looking pie you made there...I'm sure it was great! Peace.
@@mediasmoker thanks! I used a Chicago style pizza pan with holes on the bottom so it will cook the bottom evenly. I bought that on Amazon. If you don’t cover the holes with parchment paper, some of the dough will seep through the holes while baking. It seemed that Pizza Hut really put a lot of time and resources into making the Priazzo. I’ve seen some videos on how to made them on UA-cam. Some looked better than others. I feel like mine is the best version.
My husband still pines for PB Max 😂 I’m so glad I found this recipe so I can try to help with this piece of nostalgia for him. Can I put old fashioned oats in the food processor and pulse a few times as a sub for the oat flour?
That should work. If you want them even crunchier, you could use shortening instead of margarine.
Also, you don’t have to make homemade peanut butter. You could use store bought peanut butter if you wish.
People of this world could never understand the importance of the work that you have done. They’re too petty, annoying, and ungrateful.
@@jfinns13 thanks!
If you're going to drain it, you should use 80% beef; fat is where the flavor lives 😉
That was 80/20 ground beef that I used in the video. I made another Dorito casserole video and people were complaining about me not draining the ground beef, so I made this video with me draining the ground beef. If I were to make it again, I'd use 96/4 extra lean ground beef. I use that percentage in my homemade hot dog chili.
My bad! Sorry I didn’t get back to you! I’ve made this dish several times. It’s EXCELLENT. It’s also tasty with green olives. Thanks for posting it.😊
@@anniec7958 I'm glad you liked it.
I remember the priazzo, my favorite thing from Pizza Hut. Was sad when they took it away. I tried making fine . came out pretty fair. Thanks for the vid.
You're welcome. Practice makes perfect.
Thank you!❤
@@GR8FLMD3AD you're welcome
Good thing they discontinued the Priazzo. It was the best thing ever, but also, the absolute worst for health. Especially if you have gout in your family genetics!
Yeah, looks awesome, the carbs and sodium must be off the charts. I'll stick to thin crust.
@@Gr8thxAlotas far as the crust, you can use low carb flour such as rice flour or almond flour.
You can replace some of the ingredients with healthier alternatives. Of course, you could also eat it in moderation along with healthy veggies on the side.
@@eatinnteachin4545 correct! This isn’t meant to be eaten all the time. You could pair it with up with a salad if you want.
wow nice sharing look delicious
Thank you!
Hey Man great video! Just found your channel and your recipes seem really interesting. Keep doing what you do, youre going to make it big!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed watching them.
Looks great i would have to cook the hamburger a little and drain off some grease then try it
I used 96/4% extra lean ground beef so it's very little grease, and the ground beef throughly cooks in the water for about 30 minutes on medium high heat. What you could also do is boil the ground beef first and the add all the ingredients to it.
I like to a half tblspoon dijon and yellow mustard.
In the chili? That's good too.
@@Coolremac yessir! Im def gonna try this recipe tho.
This was my favorite candy bar back in the day we need it back in stores!
I have an updated version of this recipe now.
What do you think made this one better? The new cracker recipe,or the homemade P.B.?
I think it was both. I made the original one ten years ago. I've learned a lot since then. I wanted to improve on it by updating the cookie recipe as well as using homemade peanut butter instead of store bought. My technique on how to make it is pretty much the same though. You can try both recipes and see which ones you like. Also, you can even customize it by putting white chocolate or dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
I used your old recipe with dark chocolate and they were good. I'll try this new one with milk chocolate. Thanks!
@@SC-us1hs in the original video, I also used milk chocolate as well. I used Dove Milk Chocolate for both recipes.
Also, you don't have to use homemade peanut butter. I did it just to improve on it.
In my old recipe, I used old fashioned oats. Now, I use oat flour. I don't think oat flour was even available in 2013.
I posted an updated version of this recipe. I'm still keeping this one up. I would use the new recipe for reference instead of this one.
Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Would you mind sharing the recipe?
Hi, I have the recipe in the description. I'll give it to you here as well. Ten Cheese Baked Mac & Cheese Recipe: Cheese Sauce Ingredients: 1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick) 1/4 cup of flour 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon white pepper 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning 3 teaspoons dried parsley flakes 3 cups half and half or evaporated milk 4 oz block cream cheese 1/4 cup White sharp cheddar cheese 1/4 cup Colby cheese 1/4 cup Brie cheese 1/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese 1/4 cup Gruyère cheese 1/4 cup Gouda cheese 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup Havarti cheese 1/4 cup Asiago cheese Topping: 2 cups mild yellow cheddar cheese 2 cups cheez-it crackers (crushed) 4 tablespoons butter, melted 1 tablespoon parsley flakes (optional) Instructions for cheese sauce: In a bowl, mix together the flour, Italian seasoning, paprika, white pepper, salt, and parsley flakes. In a 3 ½ quart saucepan melt the ½ stick of butter over medium heat. Add in the flour mixture and stir until it is smooth. Slowly add the half and half in small amounts, stirring well after each addition to keep the mixture smooth until all 3 cups are added. Keep stirring while bringing the mixture to a boil over medium heat. The mixture will thicken. Keep stirring until mixture boils. Add the cream cheese and cook until completely melted. Reduce the heat to low and continue to stir for about another 5 minutes. Add the 2 cups of the shredded mixed cheese blend and stir until the cheese is melted. Make the macaroni according to the package. Once your macaroni has been cooked, drain it, then add macaroni to the cheese sauce, stir well, and taste for seasoning. Add drained macaroni to the cheese sauce. Pour into your prepared 9x13 inch pan. Instructions for topping: Stir the crumbs and parsley into the melted butter. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on first. Then, Sprinkle the crumb mixture on top of the cheese. Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 25-30 minutes until it is bubbly and the top begins to brown. Allow it to cool, then serve.
@@Coolremac thank you! It looked absolutely amazing.
Looks amazing!
Thanks! It's my favorite bunless burger. I think that tartar sauce makes it taste even better.
@@Coolremac how well done do you cook the patties?
@@DownFallsHellI cook mine until it's well done. Medium high heat for about 15-20 minutes or longer, depending on the size of the patties. No pink in the middle. I have a gas stove.
looks very flavorful
Thanks! It definitely was flavorful! I like a lot of flavor in my food. Off camera, I cooked 6 more patties (which is why you see me cooked all that shrimp and only used 6 for that one burger) so I can eat them all week. It was still delicious even when I microwaved them.
Your narration is too cute. ❤️ Can't wait to give these a try. I MISS PB Max's so bad.
Thanks!
Thanks for the guide! Been looking for a simple hotdog recipe and technique for making them!

That looks delicious, Great job!
Thanks!
Perfect chili for the cold weather that is about to come up you did a awesome job I enjoyed watching thanks so much for sharing👍🏾🤗
Oh my goodness perfect😍❤️
Thanks! I came up with that idea at work last month. I had some leftover pecans, so I put those in the food processor and it became pecan butter. I already had a peanut butter cookie recipe I saved on my phone, so I replaced that with pecan instead. If you have a food processor, you should try it! Also, I've seen buttered pecan cookie recipes on youtube, but I didn't see any pecan butter cookie recipes. I may be the first one to post it.
I love sweets sometimes I toast my pecans because I have a pecan tree👀 These cookies look amazing I could eat the whole batch🤗💕
I don't have a pecan tree in my yard. However, we do have them all around town. I live in Oklahoma.
I like my bacon in between and yours looks perfect just the way I like it👍🏾
I love the way you ground up the chicken and pressed it out into patties what a good idea👍🏾
Last week at work, I was thinking about something different I wanted to make this week and I Also wanted to make something I've never made before. So, I came up with a low carb B.L.T. I originally was going to do all breast, but then I decided to do 50% white meat, 50% dark meat so it will have some fat in it. When I took that first bite, I said to myself, "wow, that's good!" I showed a photo of that to one of my brothers, and he thought that was bread.
Hello my new friend Coolremac I thought I would come by and check out this ground chicken BLT this is a awesome recipe and I must be trying it soon thanks for your share and I will be back🤗👍🏾
It was good! An excellent low carb sandwich. Do you have a meat grinder?
Is there a reason why the audio keeps cutting out?
That was my first cooking video I did. Due to me having a speech impediment, it's really hard for me to do voiceovers without mistakes. In later videos, I added ambient sounds so it didn't sound like it was cutting out. I'm planning on making an updated version of the PB Max Candy in the near future.
Man this was so delicious way more better then reese's. Creamy and crunchy i wish it would come back
Yeah, they were. You must be around my age. I was about 13 when they discontinued PB Max.
why did you cook the raw flour?
I only cooked the flour for the peanut butter mixture. That way it would be safe to eat. I put that in the peanut butter mixture so it wouldn’t be too sticky. The nutter butter filling isn’t that sticky. I also noticed it the actual nutter butter has granulated sugar in the filling. I thought about putting in the powdered sugar with granulated sugar, but I’d figured it make it too sweet. Thanks for the question.
@@Coolremac ok,thanks!
@@SC-us1hs also, I didn’t cook the raw flour for the actual cookie dough. Only for the peanut butter mixture.
This is very impressive. I watched at least a dozen Nutter Butter copycat recipe videos before I found yours. This is in a different league.
@@jimmcnamara1406yeah, most of the ones I've seen, they would pinch the cookies to make the peanut shape and use a fork to make a pattern similar to that of a regular peanut butter cookie.
Looks really good I’ll have to try that thank you
You won’t be disappointed!
Looks delicious! I'll try this with the hearts of palm pasta from Natural Heaven, thanks for the video!
Thanks for the compliment!
Thank you yum 😋
You’re welcome!
This is a fantastic meal
Thank you!
Omg looks amazing 😍 🤤
Thanks! It was so good. I was inspired by The Godfather’s breakfast pizza at Love’s. I made a stuffed crust instead of regular crust and Instead of the cheese sauce for the base, I used gravy which made it taste even better!
Yummy🤤 great job👍
Thanks!

@Santana Gray I recently posted a zucchini pasta spaghetti video if you want to take a look at it.
😍 When you said 2 cups of melted butter & 2 cups granulated sugar, you had me! I made these yesterday, and oh my goodness, I have never tasted anything better, and minimum mixing directions!!! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST, thank you.
You’re welcome! I made these last Christmas and I changed the recipe by using 2/4 cup cocoa powder and 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder and they were all gone by the end of the night!
@@Coolremac 😎🤗
P.S. They're going to the Superbowl!
I said 2 sticks of unsalted butter (1cup). Not 2 cups.
My apologies, that is what I meant to say. I took them a pan full to a Superbowl party last weekend and everyone loved them and asked for the recipe. I told them about you & your recipe ❤
Made this. Loved it and can’t keep raving about it! Thank you for sharing.
I’m glad you like it! On the video, I inadvertently said “8oz can” instead of “6oz can” of tomato paste.
I was looking fo a og chili ripe, thanks for agood one!
