Great video bro I watched the whole thing and I got pretty hooked I had no idea unturned had such a rich history even after I quit years back. It was very cool to see clips of us playing unturned. A lot of memories from those days in like 2016-2017 when I'd play on a mac and use quicktime player to record videos on a 1280 x720 resolution lmao. But I like the message it's true man just have fun with it. I've tried playing it again a few times... actually more like in 2021, when kuwait came out and I built a base with my friends. Or when we played yukon. Which is the only map where you can get the true OG unturned experience since nobody plays it, and nobody tries really hard and yeah there are still people killing each other and raiding each other but it was a lot of fun nothing serious. I noticed that Unturned became very sweaty but hey that happened with like every video game ever. I can't play video games like I used to. Life just caught up with me being in university at all. But I can admit that Unturned was a pretty big thing in my life as well. Cool video I enjoyed it and I liked my small cameos really gave me flashbacks to middle school I remember just wanting to go home just to play unturned Also wow podcasts with melikebigboom and sir ady and nelson sexton??? I remember just binging their videos a whole bunch as a kid and I just thought it was so cool you ended up getting that purple beret

Why can’t we just play halo wars again

I've nearly only ever played singleplayer, and I haven't played in literal years at this point. Honestly, I've barely kept up with the game. I watched this video from start to the very end, typing this out as "Reminiscing" begins. I laughed, I cried, and I'm amazed by the effort you put into this video. Not only did you bring back happy memories, and gain a new subscriber, but you gained Unturned a returning player. I was utterly shocked when I realized that you were younger than I am and yet had been so dedicated to this game for a decade. Keep making videos and I hope someday I'll run into you :)

CHARLES!!!! This was such an amazing watch / listen tehe but was great in all ways. It was so interesting to hear all of these stories and bits of lore that I had no clue was going on in the Unturned community! Makes me wish I played more back when I was into it... It's commendable that you saw all your concepts through to the finish line. 🥳🎉 I particularly enjoyed the huge amount of work that must've gone into compiling the 17:52, and 45:16, and 1:17:25 music montages. Everything hit hard and was quite emotional. 😭 It's been great having you with us in the Unturned community. I wish you all the best wherever life takes you next, regardless of whether that involves the game or not. And I hope to make further progress you can be proud of with some of the issues you've raised.

I don’t know how I never saw this before, but I remember Isaac from a few of my classes. I was never really close to him but I remember seeing that he had a lot of friends and always heard that he was one of the good ones. Incredibly tragic what he decided to do, but it really does go to show that you never know what is going on with someone until you ask.

I think that Unturned would be better off without skills entirely. It's already challenging enough for less-equipped players who've only recently joined a server to contest well-established and heavily-armed players, particularly if they're already fortified in a base. Add on top of that the difference skills make, and you have players moving at inhuman speeds who can jump from atop towers and not break their leg. You mentioned Rust in the intro; Rust has no skill system. The closest thing you could compare it to are the workbenches, which allow players to learn more crafting recipes, but they don't alter player stats in any way that makes a difference in combat or survival. The only difference between a fresh spawn and a decked-out bandit in Rust is the loot in their inventory. Everyone runs the same speed, gets just as much heals from their meds, and can only rely on their own skill and knowledge of their weapon to aim well(looking at you sharpshooter skill). It's a far more even playing field. (though I'll be the first to admit I think Rust sucks ass).

I personally say, maybe losing skills should be limited to dying to zombies, or any environmental death, yeah you should be punished for dying, if you die in a secluded area to a bear or falling to your death, there is a very low chance you actually will have your items taken, unlike a player interaction where your main concern should be "Am I willing to lose these items?"

One note regarding per-character inventory: There is a built-in option to disable it by setting Allow_Per_Character_Saves to false in Config.json. That said, it is enabled by default in vanilla. The past few updates have experimented with popular vanilla gameplay changes, so maybe it'd be interesting to mess with this and skill loss in one of the next updates pending feedback on this video. 👀
