You are right, but since we have to select one option, the question is basically asking about how the interface will become trunk passively. The dynamic auto mode allows the interface to negotiate to become a trunk only if the other side (SW2) is in trunk or desirable mode. Since SW2 is in desirable or trunk mode, setting SW1 to dynamic auto will cause the link to automatically form a trunk. *Other options:* *A.* switchport mode trunk: Forces the interface to be in trunk mode, regardless of the other side's configuration. *B.* switchport mode dot1-tunnel: This is for tunneling, not relevant for trunk configuration. *D.* switchport mode dynamic desirable: This would actively attempt to negotiate a trunk, but it's not required here, as the dynamic auto setting will reactively form a trunk when the other side is desirable or trunk.

@@mikealpha I see! That does make more sense. I missed the "BECOME a trunk port IF" wording, which clearly eliminates answer A (Static Trunk). It is a bit confusing because dynamic desirable would still work for what this is asking, but I see why dynamic auto would be preferred in this configuration.

@@dieunedornkwelle2920 These are medium to hard as compared to actual CISSP exam. All the questions whether Boson or other, are for practice, revision and preparation of the actual exam. If you are getting above 50% score going through these questions on your first try, it means you know stuff and should feel confident towards your actual exam.

These are practice questions to prepare you for the exam, not the exact ones. The value and quality of the CISSP certification lies in the fact that there is no place to find the exact exam questions and that's the reason the exam is tough and has so much value and worth. As for as the materials are concerned, I used the CISSP CBK 6th edition book as the main study guide and read it cover to cover two times. For practice questions, I used the CISSP Official practice tests 3rd edition. Besides these, I watched Prabh Nair and Cert Destination UA-cam Videos on CISSP. Having said that, I think each individual has a different level of experience and knowledge base, thus requiring different levels of preparation. I had about 14 years of IT experience when sitting for the CISSP and was therefore able to pass it on the first try after about 8 months of preparation. If you have less or more experience, you may require less or more time to prepare accordingly.

I understand your confusion around the word prevention and preventive control. Besides preventive control, other control can also help you prevent crimes and fraud. For example, you may call a dog sign board outside a facility a deterrent control but you may say that it prevents or deters a potential intruder from going inside the facility after seeing the sign. So your explanation is right in the sense that mandatory vacation may have helped early detection of the fraud to prevent it or may have deterred the individual from doing the fraud and could have thus prevented the fraud from occurring.

​ @mikealpha Thanks for the answer and the video, upon further review I believe there is a mistake in the question text of question 47. I realize that security controls have overlap between eachother and mandatory vacation can be both considered a preventative control and a deterent control,and thus it it is possible that it CAN prevent fraud, even though mostly it's recognized as a preventative control. However seperation of duties for example is also a preventative control and it could also prevent the fraud and we dont have enough information to say that one wouldve been more effective than the other. Also, In the actual answer explanation on the slide it says: "Seperation of duties, least privilige, and defense in depth controls all *May Help Prevent The Fraud In The First Place* but are unlikely to speed the detection of fraud that has already occured." The emphasis of the answer explanation above is on detecting the fruad and the answer explanation clearly also states that all the other answers could've also help prevent the fraud. For this reason I believe there was a mistake in the question text and the question should've been "Which control might have detected this fraud?" isntead and the right answer then is clear - Mandatory Vacation.

​@@boyananakiev4896 you are right... the correct answer is SOD or if the detection is mentioned in the word then only mandatory vacations is possible..... Mandatory vacations cannot prevent fraud, whatsoever and is hardly abided principle in any org.
