Приєднався 25 жов 2008
Children of Uganda (COU), formerly Uganda Children’s Charity Foundation, was founded in 1995 as a registered non-profit with the focus of supporting orphans affected by HIV/AIDS through education, social welfare and life skills development. COU has directly sponsored 1,000+ students and has aided thousands more youth and their families through child protection advocacy, infrastructure improvements to partner schools, access to healthcare and family empowerment initiatives. We understand that a sustainable path of transformation must include the child, guardian and their community.
OUR VISION: Children of Uganda envisions a world where children and their families are equipped with the critical resources to thrive.
THE MISSION: To impact children and families in an effort to address economic disparity and social injustice.

Growing Empowered with Children of Uganda
Since Children of Uganda came into Daphine's life, everything has changed for the better. Daphine is a child labour survivor. She used to travel along with her single-mom and other siblings to work in people's gardens for food or money.
Her mother, Gertrude, is so grateful to Children of Uganda for rescuing them from desperation. She is happy that Daphine's education is now sponsored and that she gets to attend a quality boarding school. And this year, Daphine was elected Head Girl by her classmates! She aspires to be a leader, an influencer and child rights advocate. She loves music, dance and drama - and gets to enjoy being a kid!
Daphine enjoys counseling other students, helping the needy and speaking out against child labour practices in her community.
Gertrude was selected for Children of Uganda's FASTrack (Family Accountability and Sustainability) program which provides holistic care and investments in income generating activities. Gertrude's chosen project is coffee growing, which as you'll see in this video is thriving! The project has helped improve their home, with the construction of a pit latrine and to cover basic necessities. We thank Gertrude's FASTrack partner, Jennifer Keller, for helping this amazing family grow into the life they always dreamed of having.
