There's No Such Thing as Balance | Episode 52 | LaYinka Speaks Podcast
If you've ever felt overwhelmed trying to achieve the perfect balance in your life...
I see you, sis!
There's a reason for the struggle, and it's exactly what I get real about and dissect in this episode of LaYinka Speaks: There's no such thing as balance.
In this episode, I dive into why the concept of balance is misleading and how it's holding you back.
Inspired by a thought-provoking discussion during my book club's reading of "Regrets of the Dying," I share my insights on how striving for balance often leads to feelings of guilt and shame, especially for women.
If you're ready to break free from the impossible ideal of balance and embrace a more harmonious approach to life, this episode is a must-listen, my lovely. We'll explore how to shift from self-criticism to a more compassionate and practical mindset.

A new way to think about God taking something away from you
I loved this sis. It's entering my 34th year of life today. I always thought that my 'jannah age' would be so pivotal. It was. But it's not downhill from here. Still taking a moment. I can remember being a teen yesterday. Time flies.
Awww thank you for commenting, my lovely, and welcome to year 34. May it be one that's expansive, ameen. ❤
Thank you so much dear sister Layinka. May ALLAH (God) bless you a lot.
Allahu Aälam. Thank you so much.
We don’t need to seek joy, ONLY Joy, only Allah ♥️ May we ONLY seek The Most High 🤲🏼✨
I find this comment fascinating, as joy can be experienced in seeking Allah. Where's the conflict between joy and seeking Allah?
@@LaYinkaSanni when joy becomes our deity. Allah is Allah sis ♥️✨
@@LaYinkaSanni . بسمالله .
No one mentioned joy becoming one's diety, nor making it the focus of one's attention. @@ess70028
😂😂😂😂😂
Subhana Allah
Subhanallah so true
The signs have been coming but I kept ignoring them. Not until recently I reflected and realized I didn't want to let go of that thing, so I ignored and held onto it.
I appreciate your honesty in recognising that the signs HAD been sent.
Thanks dear
Thank you so much dear sister Layinka. I can remember that This was my first time in dunya me hearing the verb alchemise. And what a beautiful way of learning this word. Thank you so much 🤍💛🧡
I think I can say I found joy by choosing it when I know I had to reason not to. Choosing joy when I just woke up, when I look up at the sky, when I make a weird laugh or look bad in a photo. I think there's a lot more to be said on how happyness is not supposed to be earned, but shared. In my personal experience, it's always better to just allow yourself to feel joy whenever you want.
This is such a wholesome and beautiful comment. Joy can be felt in such simple things, subhanAllah, it just requires our presence.
Wa älaykum assalām wa rahmatullahi wa barakātuh. Thank you so much
Wa älaykum assalām wa rahmatullahi wa barakātuh. Thank you so much.

I personally found joy with my new born niece. And I am finding/refinding it more with you dear Sister.
God bless you. Dear beloved sister you can consider this from a sister the way you portray yourself reminds of a beautiful relationship with ALLAH so thank you so much 🤍❤️ and thank you for who you are 🤍🩷💜

I love this, jazak Allah khairan dear sister. It has always been an issue to separate arrogance from self confidence, which now I will call celebration instead!

Thank you for stopping by and tuning in, Alazah.
How do we know when its time to mobe forward? How long does one with with the grief for it to be clmpletely processed, how do we know?
This is a great question, and one that's answered in the book because essentially: Grief doesn't have a time limit as the reality of the loss never ever goes away. BUT, the size, the intensity, and the manifestation of that grief will evolve. Asmaa describes hers like a small charm she gets to wear around her neck, so it no longer holds her still in place and she no longer feels stuck. The reality still remains: her husband and the father of her daughter is no longer in their lives, and moving forward doesn't change THAT reality.
As Salaam Walaikum 🤲🏾
Wa alaikum salaam! 🙂
Wow. 🤔. That was very insightful. I've been struggling with commiting to my commitments , and now that uve put it this way I'm not going to be hard on myself anymore.. 📍🇿🇦. Thank you.
I'm so glad to hear that! Be kind just as Ar-Ra'oof is kind to you.
Jazak Allahu Khair❤️
Wa iyyaki! 💛
Masha’Allah ‼️ Deep and Profound‼️ Jazak Allahu Khair ❤️

❤
Same goes for small things that make you unhappy. When someone tells me it‘s not a big deal even though it made me feel hurt, I need to remind myself that because this thing made me feel hurt, the other person (and I) needs to acknowledge these feelings, not dismiss them. It‘s the little things in life that really make the difference
I absolutely agree. And if someone else chooses not to acknowledge our feelings, it's important we still acknowledge them for ourselves.
It starts inwardly Hard battle to self but it’s worth it I agree 👍 Well said
It's so worth it!
Allahu Akbar ❤...I needed to hear this 🎉.... May Allah bless you sis Layinka❤
Allahumma ameeeen, and you!
I believe, and I see it, AllahuAkbar because I believein my Rabb!! May Allah bless you ❤
Allahumma ameen! And you! 💛
Jazakhallahu ❤
SubhanaAllah, we are the ancestors who break the patterns of generational trauma... a profound message!
We are! And what an honour it is to be chosen.
Absolutely
Let's be the ancestors we wish we had.
Exactly!
